Comparison of causes and solutions of the current economic problems of Ireland and Greece

The aim of this master thesis is to analyze and look for ways out of present debt crisis which the states of euro zone are in. I am exploring these issues on the two countries, which have accepted the euro as their currency. European Union (or more precisely euro zone) has had problems for almost the whole of decade, which are now threatening its being. The basic causes are mainly the lack of structural assumptions of single European economies. The practical part of the master thesis is dealing with comparison of financial assistance, which was provided to Greece and Ireland from EU and IMF. It is evaluating the effectiveness of such help with regard to current economic situation and outlook. The thesis is comparing both of these countries from their entry to European Community and it is assessing fulfillment of Maastricht criteria. It is exploring economic and political situation of both countries and is dealing with the period after the global financial crisis, which has revealed long-term and unresolved problems if selected states of European Union.

The subject of the thesis is an important document of our time - the Lisbon Treaty. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on 10 years of evolution of the document helping to understand its final form. In the second part, the legal content of the treaty is described. The third and final part presents an overview of the first two years of Lisbon Treaty implementation, with most stress on the prevailing Eurozone debt crisis.
Developement of cretit rating in the debt crises - the situation of Italy

The thesis is primarily focused on the methodology of credit rating and characteristic aspects of each of the evaluated areas. The knowledge acquired in the first part are then applied in the second part to the situation of Italy during the debt crisis. The thesis is aimed to the developement of sovereign rating of the country. Whitin selected topic I am focused on the evaluation criteria and I poin out the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of this process. Sub-goal of the thesis is to determine the role of rating agencies in the developement of the global financial crisis, which caused the recession and was gradually transformed into a debt crisis.
Impact of euro on economical and debt development in southern countries of eurozone

This diploma thesis discuss the influence of the euro currency on economical situation and its development in Italy, Portugal, Greece and Spain. It is also concerned with the debt crisis which these countries are passing through. First, I analyze development of these countries in the last 20 years prior to entering the eurozone. After that, I focus on the fulfiling of Maastricht criterias and Optimal currency area theory, mainly the convergence of business cycles. Next chapter puts in place the questions of positive expectations, which should have be brought be the euro. In the fourth chapter the work shifts in time to the period after adopting the euro and it analyses the development of several macroeconomic values in the years 2001 - 2010 in southern countries. The results of these research are explained with focus on the influence of the euro. Last chapter concerns about the path of Italy, Portugal, Greece and Spain to the debt crisis, which peaked by the incapability of further finacing some of these countries. It research the possible effects of euro as well.

This paper deals with the rating with a focus on finding the main causes of changes in the rating during the debt crisis in Europe. The first chapter describes the main characters, types of rating and differences between the rating and other evaluation methods. Next part of this paper is about the world-wide rating agencies. In the end I analyze changes in ratings on the specific examples of European countries, on which had the debt crisis the greatest impact.

The bachelor thesis deals with causes of excessive public debt and searches for reasons of outbreak of sovereign debt crisis in Greece. The first chapter explains terms as of public debt and deficit which are crucial for purpose of this thesis. The second chapter contains political -- economic development from Second world war to entry to Eurozone and subsequent revision of Greek statistical data in 2004. The last chapter describes causes of excessive public debt, reasons of outbreak of sovereign debt crisis and emergency measurements which were supposed to reverse the negative situation in the country. The end of the third chapter is complemented with forecast of feasible development in Greece and whole Eurozone.

In its work, I covered the trustworthiness of Greece as a debtor from the historical and today's context, the economic impacts of a debt crisis for the Greek state and for the monetary union and an analysis of its causes and probable outcomes. On the basis of technical publications and the world news, I summarized the theories of the expected development of Greek economics and the consequences for other member states of European Monetary Union.
Thesis discussing Euroscepticism within Czech and Slovak political parties within the current economic climate

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to describe and compare the current manifestations of Euroscepticism within the political elites and the citizens of the Czech and Slovak Republic, with specific regard to important milestones of European integration. The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on conceptual approaches, which analyze the attitudes of political parties towards the EU and European integration. The second chapter discusses the classification of the various political parties, grouping them according to Petr Kanioks scale system of either euroscepticism, eurogovernmentalism or europeanists. The final chapter concentrates on the reasons which led political parties to uphold a negative stance towards integration, due to either ideological, or tactical-strategic grounds. The objective of the Thesis is to find out how similarly the Czech and Slovak Republics see European integration, and whether euroscepticism explains an ideological, or tactical-strategic stance.
Economic crisis and its impact on Greece and Ireland

This thesis describes Greek and Irish economy in circumstances of world economic crisis. It studies the state of those economies in the course of membership in European Union, basic macro-economic characteristics and fundamental reasons for recession. Enhanced focus is put on fiscal politics of both countries, because in moment public finances present a big challenge for them. With respect to the present debt crisis the thesis offers an overview of steps made or being made to correct the current situation. An implementation of a fiscal union is also discussed as a next neccessary level of an European integration. It also thinks over the the future development of EU and sustainability of a common currency.
