The Efficient Application of Near Infrared Spectroscopy with Fourier Transformation for Prediction of Wheat Technological Parameters
Dvořáček, Václav ; Prohasková, Anna ; Štočková, Lenka
This method brings to the users basic information about principles and features of NIR spectroscopy as well as more detailed view of the state-of-the-art capabilities of NIR spectroscopy in wheat quality prediction. The agriculture professionals will use supportive information about possible utilization of the method including practical tips for proper NIR spectrometer selection. For both, the current and prospective users, the method provides practical guidance to device handling, management of calibration sets and calibration models development. The objective evaluation of the 21 predictive models based on FT-NIR measurement, covering the results of 14 reference analytical methods aimed at wheat quality. Furthermore, it offers information useful directly in breeding programs, mill and bakery production and also in agriculture sector, government control and at universities.

Proposal for farm production of glucose syrup from wheat
PAPANOVÁ, Hana
Production of glucose syrup ( i.e., "starch syrup") has been well known for long in the industrial production and has been routinely carried out by acid hydrolysis of starch , potato and maize or wheat one. It is a thick liquid (80% BG ) containing up to 95% of the glucose in the dry state , and 3-5 % of dextrin in three groups (i.e. amylo - erythro and achrodextrins ) . It has been used in the production of jams, soft drinks , sweets , gingerbread, liqueurs, as the substitute of honey. It has also been used in textile industry, leather industry and in canning industry to produce canned fruits. Starch syrup in sweets has only around 40 % of glucose in its dry state and 55% of dextrins. The work deals with the proposal of a starch syrup production utility model which will be prepared not from starch but directly from wheat by primitive farming production.
Productive efficiency of modified feed in culture of market carp in the storage ponds experiment at Třeboň fisheries.
MELKA, Václav
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to verify the productive efficiency of thermally and mechanically modified wheat in comparison to the non-modified wheat in experimental fish ponds. The experiment was conducted in storage ponds of Třeboň Fisheries Ltd. and took place along 120 days in 8 rectangular ponds. Four treatments were used: thermally wheat, thermally and pressed wheat, non-modified wheat, and control without feeding. Each treatment was run in duplicate. Fish were fed three times a week early in the morning and in the same part of the storage pond. Every month, fish were harvested and some parametres were recorded (weight, length and fat content). Then, fish were restocked. The results of the productive indicators at the end of the experiment have proved a positive influence of thermal and mechanical modifications on the productive efficiency. The highest productive efficiency was achieved by the carps which have been fed by thermally and pressed wheat: Food convertion ration (FCR) was 2.17 - 0.17; Food Convertion efficiency (FCE) was 0.47 - 0.04; and Specific Growth Rate (SGR) was 0.63 - 0.06 %.d-1. Fish fed with thermally treated wheat reached values for FCR of 2.32 - 0.16; FCE of 0.44 - 0.04; and SGR of 0.60 - 0.06 %.d-1. Finally, the lowest productive efficiency was found at the wheat without any modifications (FCR: 2.38 - 0.10; FCE: 0.43 - 0.02; SGR: 0.58 - 0.07%.d-1). Therefore, thermal and mechanical modifications of wheat are positive modifications to improve production efficiency in market carp farming.
Evaluation of differences in crop management of line and hybrid cultivars of wheat (\kur{Triticum aestivum} L.)
MAGOČI, Jan
The target of this bachelor thesis is to compare the main differences of both breeding and growing technology of line and hybrid cultivars of sown wheat. On the grounds of gathered data from specialized literature and also from the growers from different parts of South Bohemian region, who are concerned with hybrid wheat growing, I came to the result that hybrid wheat is more productive than line cultivars, predominantly in the conditions that are less suitable for winter wheat growing. The breeding of hybrid wheat is more expensive and demanding, which has an impact on the price of seeds. According to chosen growers, it can be stated that hybrid wheat growing is in the phase of discovering qualities, abilities and possibilities of hybrid wheat.
Commodity market
Hájková, Markéta ; Taušer, Josef (advisor) ; Melcher, Ota (referee)
This work is focused on the description of the commodity market as a market in which a lot of opportunities are hidden. This market is an attractive investment for obtaining and saving money. The aim is to clarify the attractiveness of commodities to investors and through the historical development to analyze the commodity market in today's society. Another goal is to introduce commodities as instruments, which have become a competitor to other forms of investment (eg shares, bonds or real estate). Based on the findings from the analysis of the history, current market expert and major investors and investment opportunities will be filled with the main objective of the thesis, ie, prediction of future market development of selected commodities - gold, oil, coffee and wheat - in the next decade.
The quality of food wheat in South Bohemia
MACHOVCOVÁ, Dana
The quality of food wheat is annually evaluated with all deliveries of agricultural primary production in the chosen farming enterprise. During the years 2008 - 2012 particular characteristics with files of 42 - 222 samples were determined, except for the year of 2009 when only one supply was technologically incorporated to food wheat. Countrywide observation of the quality of food wheat is executed in Agricultural research institute Kroměříž, Ltd and in Agrotest fyto, Ltd. It is co-financed by Ministry of Agriculture within a functional task which follows the project of Ministry of Agriculture number QG50041 Factors of quality and safety with food grains (2005-2010). Harvest samples, obtained from producers in time span 2008-2012, were represented by files of 500-1035 samples. Characteristics which influence the quality of the grains as well as criteria and methods of the evaluation of food wheat were described. Their applications in Agrotest fyto, Ltd and under operating conditions in ZZN Pelhřimov a.s. were given. Average values of observed parameters were calculated from the results of each testing in the laboratory of the detached post Záhoří and consequently compared with countrywide norm and the norm of South Bohemia. The quality of food wheat grains in years 2008-2012 showed a large-scale variability in particular parameters both at countrywide level and in South Bohemia as well as in chosen farming enterprise. Final quality was considerably influenced by course of weather annually.
Critical evaluation of potential of harvested product proteins in selected crops from perspective of their use in food and biotechnological applications
BUCKOVÁ, Pavlína
This diploma thesis deals with plant proteins. Literary review discusses the properties of the major proteins in selected agricultural crops (wheat, barley, oats, corn, peas, soybeans, canola, potato, Jerusalem artichoke) and their use in food, diet, biotechnology and other industries. The diploma thesis was also assessing the potential production of proteins in these crops on the basis of literature and available statistical data. Data is organized into tables and graphs
Effect of carp feeding on species composition and dynamics of zooplankton in ponds
ŠAUER, Pavel
Aim of this thesis was an analysis of the feeding influence on species composition and dynamics of zooplankton. The ponds were stocked with common carp (Cyprinus carpio). The theoretical part describes the planktonic communities, seasonal dynamics of zooplankton, pond management, food of carp and methodology. The practical part deals with, based on sampling, analysis of species composition and dynamics of zooplankton.
