Photon Mapping
Nečas, Ondřej ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis deals with practical implementation of photon mapping algorithm. To achieve better results some basic and some more advanced methods of global illumination has been examined. These time demanding algorithms are often practically unusable and their further optimization is necessary. Optimized ray tracer is essential for practical implementation. Computing diffuse interreflection by Monte Carlo sampling is also very time demanding operation. Therefore it is appropriate to use it along with proper interpolation.
Rendering Chess Using Ray Tracing
Vaverka, Martin ; Jošth, Radovan (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This work aims at rendering 3D scene using ray tracing. It describes advantages and disadvantages of this technology and its alternation known as distributed ray tracing. Other part deals with method from different branch, which are closely related to distributed ray tracing - constructive solid geometry and procedural texturing.
Raytracing of Virtual Graphics Scenes
Rypák, Andrej ; Havel, Jiří (referee) ; Pečiva, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to ray tracing based rendering methods, primarily the original ray tracing. Besides introducing a brief historical overview of algorithms from the family, it presents all the essential tools, techniques and physics needed for designing a rendering application in detail. A significant part of the document consists of an implementation of a photorealistic rendering application for interactive graphics 3D virtual scenes. The focus is on rendering without using any additional model information. The thesis includes descriptions and explanations of specific problems and their solutions.
Shaders for the Mental Ray Renderin System
Dohnal, Jan ; Zuzaňák, Jiří (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
Goal of this diploma thesis is to get knowledge about history and evolution of computer graphic in area of realistic image synthesis, get knowledge about rendering system mental ray and about writing shader for it and write several shader. Create manual about writing  shaders for mental ray. Get knowledge about program Maya and create a tutorial hot to get the shader into it.
Minimalistic Object-Oriented Ray Tracer
Roženský, Mário ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis brings an overview about scene rendering using the ray tracing method. It describes aspects used when creating the application which uses this method such as intersection computation, lighting and shading models etc. It also describes the basic algorithm used for rendering one frame. Each class of the object oriented design is described. There is also detail explanation what is the purpose of the each class in the model and what are the most important used methods. The work also contains demonstration application showing the usage of model in practice.
Real-Time Ray Tracing
Blecha, Vít ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
My thesis deal with method of rendering computer graphics called ray tracing. I will aim on possibility of rendering triangles using this method. Goal of my work is study of existing algorithms to test ray-triangle intersection, their comparison, their computing demandingness and speed on different pc architectures. I will also implement these algorithms to existing ray tracer working in real-time.
Ray Tracing Using k-D Tree
Musil, Petr ; Jošth, Radovan (referee) ; Havel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and implementation of an application for picture synthesis using ray tracing. The goal is to verify properties of an space subdivision optimalization method using KD tree. The work compares spatial median, objects median and cost model methods for splitting plane determination during KD-tree construction. Several test scenes are used for evaluation.
Optimized Ray Tracing
Brich, Radek ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
Goal of this work is to write an optimized program for visualization of 3D scenes using ray tracing method. First, the theory of ray tracing together with particular techniques are presented. Next part focuses on different approaches to accelerate the algorithm. These are space partitioning structures, fast ray-triangle intersection technique and possibilities to parallelize the whole ray tracing method. A standalone chapter addresses the design and implementation of the ray tracing program.
Parallelization of Ray Tracing
Čižek, Martin ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
Ray tracing is widely used technique for realistic rendering of computer scenes. Its major drawback is time needed to compute the image, therefore it's usually parallelized. This thesis describes parallelization and ray tracing in general. It explains the possibility of how can be ray tracing parallelized as well as it defines the problems which may occur during the process. The result is parallel rendering application which uses selected ray tracing software and measurement of how successful this application is.
Ray tracing, aberration coefficients and intensity distribution
Oral, Martin
In particle optics paraxial ray tracing (solution of the paraxial trajectory equation) provides the basic imaging properties of an optical system and real ray tracing (solution of the equation of motion with time as the parameter) gives the complete particle paths including all aberrations. While there are methods of computing the aberration coefficients directly, for example by evaluating the aberration integrals, ray tracing can also be used for this purpose.
