That is why it is paied more and more attention to Project Risk Management. This thesis is written in collaboration with a renowned multinational IT company delivering these large projects. One of the project factors is uniqueness. Conditions in the world are rapidly changing and companies are trying to gain a competitive advantage in their own IT. Uniqueness is obviously very important factor of IT innovation and that is the reason, why many companies implement their changes as a project. These projects must be directed to a succesfull outcome, therefore many methodologies was created to manage it. Current project are under greater pressure on the duration and cost of supply while maintaining high quality, which in practice means that to deliver successful projects is becoming increasingly difficult. Therefore, there should be greater emphasis on risk management, so an event that may threaten the success of the project. It is needed to learn and look for better and more efficient ways of Risk Management. The main scope of this thesis is to compare two project management methodologies (Prince 2 and RUP -- Rational Unified Process) with internal methodology of chosen IT company from the perspective of risk management and then to compare the project practices with the methodologies, to find any anomalies or errors and provide suggestions for improvement. Another objective is to find out and describe project risk management trends, and introduce some tools to support project risk management.

Theoretic part deals with general project methodologies and compares theirs main features and characteristics. One of the chapters is also describing Six Sigma process methodology, that will play a major role in the practical part of the thesis. In practical part, first of all I am introducing the company Vodafone Czech republic which allowed me the creation of the diploma thesis. Following chapter is focused on existing project methodology, project life-cycle and tools that the company uses in day-to-day practice. Next chapter deals with the detail analysis of the project process and by using of real samples of the company projects I try to find the optimalization of the project process in order to speed up the time to market and thus provide faster reaction to the market conditions and needs. Final chapter provides a summary and conclusion of the work done. Benefits of the diploma thesis should be following: 1)Detail mapping of the project methodology in mobile operator environment 2)Analysis of the current existing project process and project lifecycle 3)Possibility to get greater knowledge about the work of the Project management office 4)Design a possible solution that would help to increase competitiveness on the market

Modification the block IS/ICT Project Management by the risk management
Kocman, Martin ; Chocholatý, Drahomír (advisor) ; Hausmann, Oto (referee)
The aim of this thesis is modification of the teaching block IS/ICT Project Management at the Department of Information Technologies of the Prague University of Economics by the risk management issues. At present, insufficient space is given to this topic and this may thus create the feeling with the students that this is a marginal issue in the project management. The theoretical starting points to this thesis are above all the PMBOK methodologies of the PMI organization and further the PRINCE2 of the OGD organization. As these are the internationally acknowledged IT project management standards, therefore the key significance is given to them as to the theoretical starting points. Naturally, the part of these methodologies related to the project management is utilized of them. To sketch in the point of view of the issue, the RIPRAN methodology is added that is of Czech origin and was developed by doc. Ing. Branislav Lacko of the Brno University of Technology. This methodology deals only with the risk management. The own new point of view of the risk management that comes out from the above-mentioned theoretical presumptions is divided into following parts: planning, identification, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, project simulation, evaluation. As the primary utilization of this thesis is for the students of the Prague University of Economics, namely above all for the students of the given course, this fact is taken into account also in the course of work with the risks. This means, among others, that it is not possible to implement the project according to the plan, and thus simulation tools are utilized for its implementation. All aspects coming out from this school environment have been included in the thesis. A tool in MS EXCEL table editor has been developed for the work with the risks where all steps of the risk management are carried out, namely including the data for subsequent creation of the outputs -- reports, analyses, etc. An advantage of this environment is the possibility of its utilization for automatic procedures. Full use of this characteristic has been made in the tool.
The Implementation of Agile Methodologies in the World of Rigid Project Management
Stokláska, Ondřej ; Chocholatý, Drahomír (advisor) ; Schiffner, Pavel (referee)
This thesis's aim is to get a reader familiar with modern methods and techniques of agile project management. A short excurse into the history of project management will be provided as well as the galloping development of this area will be described. In the next part of this thesis we will focus on agile methods especially on the extreme project management, which is the main point of this thesis. For the adumbration of differences between classical and agile techniques, the PMBOK and PRINCE2 were chosen as a representative of classical techniques. Among agile methods extreme project management will attract our attention the most. This comparison will be a bridge between these two worlds, respectively between two different points of view on project management. For illustration of extreme project management, we will touch the extreme programming, however this thesis's aim is not only this programming technique, but is its integral part. Based on the information stated above, we can anticipate that we'll be focusing at the development of information systems. The reusult of this work should be a guide to a manager who reconsiders, or is forced to, a change towards the implementation of agile methods in the rigid environment. The reader should find in this compressed form which will be the embochure of the topic. Last but not least, it should be a compass in the agile management area.
