Analýza faktorů ovlivňující strategie a očekávání českých začínajících firem
Šála, Miroslav ; Lukeš, Martin (advisor) ; Jaklová, Martina L. (referee)
This thesis goal is to analyze the factors that are influencing the strategies and growth expectations of the Czech start-ups. The analysis is based on the data sample from the Czech GEM 2011 and unique study of the Czech start-ups performed in 2011 as well. Various statistical methods are used to determine which microeconomic factors affect (1) the strategy choice and (2) growth expectations. As for the factors influencing expected growth, the research is concluded by the creation of the regression equations explaining the expected growth in the revenues as well as expected growth in employees. The factors influencing strategy choice are: managers-owners experience, the environment, self-efficacy, gender, and innovativeness. The factors influencing expected growth in revenues are: innovativeness, self-efficacy, competitive strategy, managers-owners experience, social capital, export intention, and business planning. The factors influencing the expected growth in employment are: legal structure of company, export intention, self-efficacy, innovativeness, competitive strategy, business planning. Following variables create the regression equation explaining expected growth in revenues: financial planning, export intention, education, IPR use, and age of entrepreneur. The variables explaining expected growth in employees are: (1) export intention, product newness, and legal structure of the company, (2) product newness, differentiation inclination, and financial projections. Alongside, the Porter's generic strategies framework was proved to fit the data sample while it was showed that a portion of Czech entrepreneurs are "stuck in the middle". By these findings, this thesis provides unique empirical verification of the growth and strategy theory on the sample of the Czech entrepreneurs.
Dynamický model prokrastinace
Vraný, Martin ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Hudík, Marek (referee)
The thesis presents a formal model of intertemporal decision problem of working on a task for distant reward which depends on the number of periods the subject actually spends working, where the subject faces varying opportunity costs of working each period before the deadline. Three psychologically plausible causes of procrastination are incorporated into the model as transformations of the decision problem. In order to assess a hypothesis that procrastination is an evolved and stable habit, the third transformation renders the model dynamic in that past decisions and circumstances affect the present. The model is first explored via qualitative analysis and simulations are performed to further reveal its functionality.
A university educated nurse at the nursing unit - expectations and reality
LESZKOWOVÁ, Dana
Each era has its requirements for the level of education and training system for nursing staff. A person who wants to succeed in his/her profession needs appropriate knowledge, skills and education. The requirements for education are determined by technical possibilities and political arrangement of the society. In the past nurses got along on herbs and knowledge passed from one generation to another. The present time is an era of computers and enormous technical progress. Along with unbelievable developments in technology also the content of the nursing profession has changed. The nursing profession is now becoming a full-fledged and independent scientific discipline. This progress is increasing the requirements for education of healthcare personnel. It requires professionals with university education. The objective of the bachelor thesis has been to identify the expectations of nurses while studying at a university and the reality after they start working at the nursing unit. Six research questions were formulated in the thesis. The thesis used a qualitative method of research. The data were collected by means of semi-structured interviews. The interviews consisted of 25 basic questions, while some questions were complemented with additional questions. The interviews were recorded in a written form and subsequently processed. The interviews were processed into case studies. The most important results of the research have been processed into categorization tables. The research group consisted of 10 respondents who worked in different types of healthcare facilities in Prachatice, České Budějovice and in Prague. The research indicates that most of the nurses have used in practice the new knowledge acquired in the course of their studies. The results of the thesis may serve as an incentive for further quantitative research.

Expectation of volunteers from volunteer activities in the hospital.
TALICH, Jan
In this work, the author focuses on the volunteering program ``Volunteers in hospitals{\crqq} in connection with senior care in medical facilities. Owing to this he could deal with the issue more naturally and thoroughly. More specifically, he focuses on the volunteers{\crq} expectations of their work which is performed with no financial award in their free time. Fulfilled expectation is a crucial factor in volunteers{\crq} motivation and influences not only their efficiency but also their endurance. In the practical part, the author focuses on assessing expectations of volunteers involved in two volunteering programs realized in hospitals in České Budějovice and Pelhřimov. He used a qualitative form of research and applied a method of questionning. He interviewed volunteers, coordinators and contact persons in the two hospitals. In this way, he created a complex view of volunteer activity and compared expectations of volunteer work of the different parties involved. By comparing the volunteer programs he presented the practical impact of two different organization structures. The work can thus serve as a feedback for the above-mentioned volunteering programs and as a support and stimulus to the coordinators of ``Volunteers in hospitals{\crqq} in their further motivational and guidance work.
Anticipating versus reality of work of nurses in cardiosurgery department
BÁRTOVÁ, Marie
In my bachelor paper I dealt with expectation of nurses before their entry in practice and confrontation with the reality of work at hospital units. Expectation plays an important part in coping with the nursing occupation. There are many factors that can influence it both in a positive and negative way. The fast pace in current medical establishments requires that a nurse should assess, predict and evaluate the state of patients and that she should react to it within several minutes so that the care for the ill is most efficient and coordinated. Such a task is difficult for every-one but for a nurse disappointed by the health system it is an impossible task. Therefore it is important that there is a correspondence between expectations and the final reality of work.

Tato práce má za cíl identifikovat klíčové determinanty zákaznické spokojenosti a loajality na trhu mobilních telekomunikací a navrhnout integrovaný systém pro měření, modelování a počítačové simulování procesu tvorby zákaznické spokojenosti. Koncepčním rámcem této práce a zvoleného přístupu je systémová dynamika a systémové myšlení, které umožňuje plně využít znalostí procesu tvorby spokojenosti a loajality a skrz dynamiku vazeb a zpětnovazebních smyček přiblížit model reálnému prostředí trhu. Jednotlivé vazby dynamického modelu jsou statisticky testované a potvrzené na skutečných datech mobilního operátora T-Mobile.
Models with rational expectation.
