Family house with a business activity

The topic of this bachelor thesis is a family house with business activities. It is a two-storey house with a partial basement, the roof is pitched with a slope of 35 °. As the structure two-way wall HELUZ walls were used. The building is set on a land slightly sloping towards the west. All structures comply with the applicable standards ČSN.
Business plan for a mediating portal

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to develop a business plan and design a web site that will mediate translations in unconventional way. The resulting document can serve as a template for business plan implementation. First, the thesis provides information on creating a business plan and it also explores the principle of crowdsourcing, which serves as a foundation for the service. The actual business plan is presented as well as the proposal for the web interface, which includes a description of user roles and database structure. The main contribution of this thesis is that it spreads awareness of business models based on crowdsourcing and creates a practical business plan. Readers can then use this business plan as well the provided information base as an inspiration for creating their own.
Designation of parties to the trial in Czech and French languages. Comparative analysis of terminology.

This thesis is concerned with the distinction between the labelling of participants in the Czech and French criminal proceedings, therefore the main sources are the Czech and French penal codes. This thesis commences with a chapter which is primarily focused on the technical style, the legal language and its translation but which also describes the pro-cedures of translation. The second chapter focuses on how the theory interacts with prac-tice. After having introduced the criminal proceedings and their respective stages, the focus turns on introducing and subsequently analysing the terms which label the participants of the proceedings. Each label is supplemented with a description of the specific function of the given participant both in Czech and French law with a further inclusion of possibilities of translation of the individual labels. The third chapter is made up of a Czech-French glossary.
Jungmann´s translation of Milton´s Paradise Lost

This Bachelor thesis will be concerned with the problem of translating the work Paradise Lost into the Czech language. It will concentrate on Jungmann's handling of form and vocabulary and adapting it for contemporary society and its requirements. It will try to determinate the extent to which the issue of translation during the National Revival relates to the cultural policy at the time.
Causative constructions "fare + infinitive": typology and Czech translation.

The topic of this diploma thesis is Italian causative constructions fare + infinitive. The work is divided into two parts. In the first, theoretical, part the author defines Italian causative constructions then he describes their syntactic and semantic properties. After that the author turns his focus to Czech causative constructions which are followed by the second, practical, part of the work. In that part the author works with itWaC, an Italian web corpus, on the basis of which he makes a list of verbs that enter into causative constructions. Thereafter, the author proposes translations of the most frequent constructions and in case of more possible translations of the same one, he tries to theoretically explain such a situation.
French idioms containing names of body parts and their Czech equivalents.

This diploma thesis deals with french idiomatic connections that include names of human body parts. In the first theoretic part, the term "set phrase", or "idiomatic connection" is defined. Afterwards is this part also dedicated to the classification of idioms and to their internal structure and function. In the second analytic part, the selected sample of idioms is formally analyzed, i.e. according to the internal structure of an idiom and also by the semantic view (polysemy, possible interpretations, motivation). Than, the possibilities of syntactic manipulation and internal transformations of idioms are indicated. The main attention is paid to the translatological analysis of the selected sample of idioms and to the possibilities of their translation to the czech language. The aim of this diploma thesis is to observe the degree of equivalence when translating idiomatic connections, or to indicate possibilities of their translation to the czech language. The application output of this work will be the bilingual (Franco-Czech) dictionnary of corresponding idioms.
French similes of the type "Adj-comme-N" compared to their Czech equivalents

The objective of this work is to compare French similes of the type "Adj-comme-N" to their Czech equivalents. The work consists of two parts. The first part is focused on the theoretic definition of phraseology and idiomatics and its units, phrasemes and idioms. It is followed by the definition of a simile, as a specific part of phraseology and idiomatics, and the characteristic features of the assigned group of similes. The samples have been extracted from the corpus frWaC. They are analysed in the respects of form, semantics and translation in the second part of this work. Most of our attention is paid to the aspect of translation. The main aim of this work is to outline some of the possibilities of the translation into the Czech language and to evaluate the degree of equivalency preservation.
French and Czech terminology in European legislative texts from the domain: Food safety.

This thesis deals with French and Czech terminology European legislative texts aimed at the section "Food Safety". The work is divided into two main parts. The first part, theoretical, contains several chapters which are focused on the basic translation techniques and linguistic terms which are very important for my bachelor thesis. Furthermore there is a short presentation of the software program ParaConc which is absolutely necessary, simply description of the work with selected legislative texts and the formation of the corpus. The second part, practical, is focused on the work with the created corpus - a selection of key words, collocations, find their translations, mainly examination of the adequacy of the translations.
Compound Nouns (type N+N) in the Present-day French

The topic of the bachelor thesis is a characteristic of French compounds of the type N+N. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part defines the terms compounding and compound and next chapters deal directly with the compounds of the type N+N. They describe graphical and morphological attributes of these units and their structure. Syntactic and semantic criteria for distinguishing a compound from a syntagma are defined, too. The last chapter is dedicated to compounding in Czech language. The second part of the thesis focuses on translation of this type of compounds. It evaluates the way they are being translated into Czech language. New translations are designed for the units that haven't been mentioned in dictionaries.
Czech translation of contemporary Italian literature and their translators

The objective of this bachelor´s thesis is to characterize selected works of contemporary Italian literature which is getting into the Czech literary context through Czech translations. The thesis deals with literary works dating from 1991 to 2011, which are analyzed from the point of view of genres and themes. It focuses of the reception of this literature within Czech readers´ environment. The work describes which strategies of edition are being used by publishing houses to choose the works of contemporary Italian literature and it also shows the role of extra-literary factors and translators. The thesis comprises indexes and short portraits of authors, translators and other authorities concerned.
