Stress and deformation analysis of railway bridge over the Morava River

This Bachelor Thesis contains stress and strain analysis of the first two parts of the railway bridge in Olomouc with an assessment of changes in the stress and strain when changing the static storage. Firstly, the theoretical basis of rod systems is presented, it is followed by the calculation of normal forces and the stress in rods for both parts separately. The calculations include the load arising from its own weight and from the weight of a train, which is represented by the load at the framework joints. Next, these two parts are connected. For this rod system a stress-strain analysis is also used. In conclusion, stress and strain is calculated for comparison by the finite element method in the program ANSYS Classic.

Strength design and deformation analysis of the truss construction.

This Bachelor thesis is focused on strength design and strain-stress analysis of truss construction. Simplified as a plain truss construction. One of the main goals of this thesis is calculate stresses for each member of the construction, depending on the load position. The cross section of beams were designed respecting safety conditions. The influence of the gravity field was not taken into account.

Strain, stress and strength analysis of the truss construction.

The thesis is focused on strain, strength, and strain analysis of planar truss construction. The purpose of this work is to determine the load on each rod, and to assess the safety against limit states. After determining the primary characteristics, the structure will be modified and load and safety re-calculated. Depending on the outcome, the design will be changed again. Next, will be destined gravity affect on the design and impact of production inaccuracy. Deformation of structure will be calculated.

D - Areas Analysis using Strut and Tie models

The objective of bachelor thesis is the analysis of typical D-areas of reinforced concrete structures. The analysis is performed using methods replacement truss. In the beginning models replacement truss are used for analysis shear bending girder. It is also shown in the individual chapters specific D-areas using spare truss method. These particular truss models are solved by RFEM program operating on the principle of Finite Element Method.

Gender markers of nouns denoting animals in contemporary English

This diploma thesis deals with gender markers of nouns denoting animals in contemporary English. The differences will be researched in technical texts published in both the online and print versions of scientific magazines. The work is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part will describe predominantly grammatical categories of nouns (number, countability, determination, gender, case) connected with gender issues. The first half of the practical part concentrates primarily on observation of animal names, collectives, or their forms in singular and plural. The second half is engaged exclusively in singular pronouns as they able to distinguish masculine, feminine and neutral gender in animals.

The theory of common nature of Thomas Aqvinas in the treatise De ente et essentia

The work deals with theory of common nature and universals of Aquinas in the treatise De ente et essentia. In first part is defined conceptual foundation based on Aristotelian and Avicennian concepts of essence and existence. Avicenna defines two ways how can be essence considered. First it is absolute consideration of the essence and second the essence considered as it has being. Thomas Aquinas develops his notion of essence in a quite noticeable Avicennian framework. In the second part are presented the theory of common nature by St. Thomas. The theory is based on the essence considered as it has being, we can found it in rational soul.

A Fluctuation in grammatical gender - tendencies in Contemporary Czech

The arm of this thesis is to explore the effect of nouns varying in gender on nouns with a stable grammatical gender. Nouns ending with a consonant in N sg are usually either masculine or feminine gender. In the Czech language, however, there are also nouns that can be codified in both genders. First, we will focus on these nouns, that is nouns varying between masculine and feminine gender and ending with a consonant. Afterwards, we will examine nouns similar to them, it means nouns ending with the same consonant. We will verify whether the nouns ending with the same consonants as the nouns varying between masculine and feminine gender have a tendency to vary between masculine and feminine due to this fact. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, we will describe individual technical terms necessary for the research (gender, natural gender, grammatical gender, declension of nouns, appellatives and propria). The practical part is divided into the results obtained from the Czech National Corpus and internet search engine Google, and into the results obtained by evaluation of 56 questionnaires. These questionnaires were proposed, elaborated and evaluated by the author of this thesis.

Cílem práce je ze statistických hledisek zjistit výskyt šikany u dětí navštěvující 2. stupně základních škol z pohledu genderu. Bude se zabývat rozdíly v chování šikanovaných a šikanujících chlapců nebo dívek. Jakým způsobem se děti zasažené šikanou chovají a jakým způsobem na šikanu reagují. Důležitým faktorem pro zkoumání bude také četnost případů šikany u jednotlivých pohlaví.
