Liberalization of agriculture and negotiations of WTO

This thesis evaluates the development of a new round of multilateral negotiations in the WTO since its inception in 2001, through ongoing negotiations to its current state. It deals with fundamental issues and mainly with the question of agriculture. The thesis follows the gradual development of this issue and the most difficult problems that hinder the conclusion of the Doha Development Round.

The Bachelor Thesis addresses to India and its treatment within the World Trade Organization. Authoress is concerned with Indian trade policy, stressing the tariffs issue, the analysis of Indian approach to the negotiations about trade liberalization and its stances to the agriculture, industrial production, services and intellectual property rights. She construes also Indian disputes in the World Trade Organization and tries to determine if deeper trade liberalization would be beneficial for this country.

The thesis is focused on the roles and activities of three international economic organizations which are widely seen as the most powerful organizations of global economic governance - the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group and the World Trade Organization. The thesis outlines how well these organizations are currently performing, and suggests how they could be made more effective in managing globalization.
Economic Partnership Agreements - comparison with the Cotonou agreement

Bachelor thesis characterizes trade and partnership agreements between European Union and African, Caribbean and Pacific group of states in the context of World Trade Organization's legal texts. The thesis focuses on the basic principles of multilateral trading system and special treatment of developing countries. It chronologically concerns itself with close trade relations and particular agreements between the EU and the ACP group. There are described various preferential trade regimes applied by the EU towards developing countries, primarily the ACP. Because of contradiction of the EU-ACP preferential agreements to WTO rules it was necessary to come to re evaluation of EU-ACP relations and negotiations of new Economic Partnership Agreements, called EPAs. The main accent is put on analysis of EPAs, incentives to negotiations with ACP regions, problems connected with it and mainly the conformity with WTO provisions. Last but not least the thesis describes the impact of EPAs on ACP regions, sums up its strengths and provides information about the future of EU-ACP cooperation.
Ukraine in the World Trade Organization

Nowadays, being a member of the World Trade Organization for a country means becoming an active participant of the world trade relations. On May 16, 2008, Ukraine officially became the 152th member-country of the WTO. The thesis describes the process of Ukraine's acceptance to the WTO that lasted for more than fourteen years. Moreover, in the work it is analyzed Ukraine's gains and losses after the two-year WTO membership. The study focuses on strength and weaknesses of the WTO membership in common and for Ukraine specifically.

People's Republic of China is currently one of the most performing asian developing countries and at the same time it is also one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Aim of this thesis is to compare the territorial structure of China's external economic relations before and after the year 2001 when China joined the World Trade Oragnization. The thesis puts the accent on the main economic partners such as the European Union, Japan and the United States of America.
Intellectual Property Rights in the negotiations of the World Trade Organization

The goal of this diploma thesis is to introduce the intellectual property rights protection in the member states of the World Trade Organization and the main agreement that regulates this area, i.e. Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual property Rights. The only discussed topic in the current round of negotiations are geographical indications and the creation of multilateral system for notifying and registering geographical indications for wines and spirits. Moreover, the thesis deals with the work of the TRIPS Council and several disputes related to TRIPS fulfillment.

The first chapter describes the conditions of the establishment and development of international organizations, their characteristic and division. The second chapter is devoted to International Monetary Fund and the third one to International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The fourth chapter deals with the World Trade Organization and the fifth one with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Each chapter contains a description of the development of the goals and roles of particular organization till present.
Main trends in development of Chinese economy from 1990s

People's Republic of China is nowadays one of the fastest growing economies. That is the reason why my bachelor thesis concentrates on a position of China in the world economy during the last two decades. I focus on the development of particular macroeconomic indicators (GDP, inflation and unemployment). I also emphasis on China's foreign trade, especially on volumes of exports and imports, main trading partners and commodity structure. Furthermore I describe economic cooperation between China and the Czech Republic.
