Modern active elements and their behavior in linear circuit blocks
Kosztyu, Tomáš ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Koton, Jaroslav (advisor)
The topic of this master’s thesis was a frequency filters and their realization using modern active elements like UVC, UCC, VFA, CFA and OTA. The base point of this thesis was designed frequency filters with these active elements, when the shape of the transfer function will be identical for all structures and compare the characteristics of active elements. The proposed frequency filters are second order with one or two active elements. In the first part of thesis are discussed basic properties of frequency filters, their properties and distribution. Next are described the general characteristics of active filters and their basic elements such as operational amplifier OTA, VFA and CFA, and recently more frequently used voltage and current conveyor. The second part is the frequency filters designed with these elements is the same transfer function. Subsequently, simulations are done all the filters and obtained the frequency response. Finally, these filters are experimentally made and made practical measurements.

The heartbeat counter
Malínský, Zdeněk ; Dlouhý, Jiří (referee) ; Švrček, Martin (advisor)
Heart rate variability belongs to basic and most frequently interpretation of physiologic statement in medicine. The pulse rate serves as an indicator of the heart activity. The subject of this diploma thesis is projection of the heartbeat counter. The work describes electrocardiograph and separated waves, ways of calculation heart rate, characteristics mechanism for measuring and other necessary information about heart rate measuring. This master thesis fixates on heart rate-calculation from including R-R intervals. Here is described whole project of heartbeat counter, properties of separated blocks and calculation of useful parameters. Further there is noted software resolution for the microcontroller and program for the calculation of heart rate frequency including unwinding signal preprocessing and detection of separated QRS complexes. The products of this diploma thesis are the circuit including the board circuit and codes of separated programs.

Segmentation in the color fundus imges
Malínský, Miloš ; Jiřík, Radovan (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
Optic nerve head and macula are important structures in fundus images. Detection and measurement plays crucial role in several diagnosis methods of optic disease. This work is focused on the detection of the central point of macula and optic nerve head, where the inner border is detected too. There are many methods for extracting this structure in retinal images. Due to the unique properties of each acquisition technique, a single generally acknowledged detection algorithm does not exist. The whole detection process is described from preprocessing through segmentation towards postprocessing. Presented methods are based on the combination of correlation techniques, Hough transform, active contours and morphological operations. The detected contours of the optic nerve head are evaluated and quantitatively compared with the contour drawn by experienced ophthalmologist. The master thesis contains quantity of images that help to describe detection methods.

Advanced Filter Tester for Size Resolved Penetration Measurements
Ondráček, Jakub ; Zíková, Naděžda ; Ždímal, Vladimír
Aerosol filtration is the most widely used process to capture aerosol particles. It is used in various applications throughout the different areas of interest (emissions cleaning, occupation safety and health, air-conditioning, etc.). In most of these applications, it is useful to have information about penetration, or filtration efficiency, of the chosen filtration material. Information available from filter manufactures, a background of a decision on which filter to use for the specific purposes, is usually not detailed enough. Therefore, new, fully controlled filter testing instrument was developed and thoroughly tested, providing a size-dependent penetration; proving a very good precision and reproducibility of the results. Using this instrument we have measured several commercial filter materials including standard filters (Whatmann, Milipore, Pall) and personal respirators (e.g. 3M).

Navrh filtru pro detekci Thomsonovym rozptylem na tokamaku COMPASS
Aftanas, Milan ; Scannell, R. ; Bílková, Petra ; Böhm, Petr ; Weinzettl, Vladimír ; Walsh, M.
Reinstalled tokamak COMPASS, originally from Culham Science Centre, is now operating at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Prague and many new optical diagnostics are being developed [Sestak et al, 2009]. For measurement of electron temperature and density profiles, high resolution incoherent Thomson scattering spectroscopy based on Nd:YAG laser and avalanche photodiodes is under development now. The paper outlines part of the design of this diagnostic - proper choice of spectral filters. The design of filters is shown and its evaluation taking into account different angle of scattered light is introduced. Error bars of the electron temperature, density and pressure are determined with respect to assumed electron temperature and density profiles and to required high spatial resolution at the pedestal region.
