The figure of Alois Petrus and the artistic woodcarving in Třebíč district during the period of the First (Czechoslovak) Republic

(in English): This thesis, The Figure of Alois Petrus and Artistic Woodcarving in Třebíč District During the Period of the First (Czechoslovak) Republic, discusses woodcarving, its definition in relationship to other wood-processing activities and its influence on the production of furniture and puppets. The thesis maps the evolution of woodcarving and focuses on variable trends which were used especially during the First Czechoslovak Republic. It also briefly summarizes the development of Třebíč district and its influence on the evolution of woodcarving in the area. This work focuses especially on Alois Petrus. It tracks his life, professional career and also his interests and hobbies. The thesis assesses the importance of his activities and discusses the extent to which he was influenced by living in Třebíč and other tows. It also studies his work, its importance in his era and also the reflection of his work in present time.
The Upholstery Firm Emil Gerstel Prague and Collaboration with Architects

The purpose of this thesis is to gather information on the furniture firm Emil Gerstel Prague in connection with collaborations with architects as interior designers. Emil Gerstel was in charge of the firm Before the First World War, in that period furniture influenced by Viennese geometric secession and by historicist tendencies was produced. A collaboration with the architect Joseph Maria Olbrich in that time is also mentioned. The firm was purveyor to the Viennese court. Around 1930 under the direction of Bedřich Gerstel was the firm on its peak. This period comprises the works on furnishing of the interior of the Otto Petschek 's villa in the Neo-rococo style, the collaboration with Adolf Loos and Heinrich Kulka on furnishing of the villa Müller and on furnishing of the family Semler 's apartment in Plzeň. Vladimír Grégr was the author of the Václav Maria Havel's apartment, his designs were influenced by organic functionalism. Most of the Gerstel's customers came from wealthy families, their property was after the Second Wold War nationalized. Zbyněk Hřivnáč and interior design of 1960s and 1970s

The thesis titled Zbynek Hřivnáč and Interior Design of the 1950s to the 1970s attempts to map all the most important aspects of this discipline in the former Czechoslovakia and specifically to bring important design, interior, artistic and architectural projects in which it appears still lesser known name of architect and designer Zbynek Hřivnáč. On the evolution of exceptionally prolific architect and interior designer Zbynek Hřivnáč we demonstrate basic tendencies and historical facts that played in the design of interiors its essential role. Zbynek Hřivnáč here, however, does not act as a true art solitaire, but rather as a link of individual described projects that are mostly, with a few exceptions, has been involved in a large team of professionals including architects, engineers, designers, craftsmen and ultimately especially artists. Zbynek Hřivnáč here as a very important figure in the background of the great names of history of Czech architecture such as Karel Filsak, Jan Šrámek or Jan Bočan and some more. This work demonstrates changes that have occurred in the perception, classification and finally democratization of design, by the example of textile art and personality of Marie Teinitzerová, who was at the interface of fine art, handicraft and design and significantly contributed to the promotion of new aesthetic values in all of these areas.
Communication activities of IKEA brand in the Czech market during 2009-2011

2 Abstract Bachelor thesis "Communication activities of Ikea brand in the Czech market during 2009-2011" describes the company Ikea and its individual communication activities. It includes a brief company history, a story of its inception in 1943 and subsequent development to the present day. It also deals with the current situation of the brand from a global perspective. The thesis does not omit analysis of the reasons that led to the fact that the brand has become an icon. The work includes analysis of Ikea's position in the domestic market, its competition (focusing on competition from other furniture chains), the different instruments of marketing mix (product, price, distribution, promotion) and how the company uses them. The main part of the bachelor thesis deals with the various communication activities on the Czech market within three years. It describes and analyzes the print ads, outdoor, television and radio communication, online and in-store activities, Ikea Family loyalty program and corporate social responsibility (CSR), in both theoretical and practical level, applied to specific cases. Based on the acquired knowledge, the last chapter evaluates the effectiveness of these activities, or even suggests possible solutions for discovered problems in communication.
Italian Renaissance Chests in the Czech Collections

This work deals with the subject of Italian renaissance chests (cassone) in Czech collections, mapping the fund of cassones in the Czech Republic and its critical evaluation. The most important collections of the Moravian Gallery in Brno, North Bohemian Museum in Liberec, Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the National Museum in Prague, the National Gallery in Prague and Silesian Museum in Opava were selectively processed for this research. The attention is also paid to decorative techniques, materials, design, typology and construction solutions used in the cassone- making process. The issues of differences in the production of cassones among various Italian regions are also outlined. This work also contains a concept of an Italian-renaissance chests catalogue in the Czech collections.

My work analyses the matters of furnituring, from first ancient creations to present days. I focus on characteristic features of historical periodes their development among variously levelled societies. I also reffer about restauration and repairs, and I think about the use of antique furniture in our times. I also mention the modern flow of designers or the Feng Shui, a method of setting the furniture in the household. Part of my work is commited to the display of furniture in the graphic art from 16th to 19th century. Didactic par of my work is focused on Arts, as a subject taught at the first level of basic school. I also conceived my own draft of an Arts lesson. The goal of my work is to create a summary of general knowledge about the topic with focus on it's history as well as to provide an insight to the core of furnituring, given the aspect of graphic art. This bacholor thesis is an overview of the fumiture in term sof design, features, visual quality, while changes in the historical section. It is also interested in the current trends and an overview of current tendency. The application part of the work is focused on the research topic ''furniture as a free art athudes" examined through practical application and questionnaire survey in selected primary school pupils in the first degrese. The work therefore has an ambition to provide a comprehensive overview of the furniture, as an element of art and functions, while practically handle this issue for use in keeping of art education in primary schools.
