Numerická simulace třírozměrného turbulentního proudění s volnou hladinou v zakřiveném kanále
Bodnár, Tomáš ; Příhoda, Jaromír ; Kozel, K.
The paper deals with the numerical simulation of free surface flow in a curved channel. An interface capturing method was chosen for description of the free surface. Numerical simulation was carried out for turbulent flow in a curved channel of square cross-section that was partially filled by water.
Unsteady turbulent flow with adverse pressure gradient
Šarboch, Jaroslav ; Favre-Marinet, M.
Velocity and wall shear stress measurements in a periodic turbulent flow with adverse pressure gradient were performed in a conical difuser (air flow) and in a water diverging channel, both with the total divergence angle 6 degrees.
Flow in an entering section of a circular pipe
Hoření, Bohumír ; Chára, Zdeněk
The paper deals with a numerical simulation of flow in an entering section of a circular pipe using CFD (Fluent 6.0). Results of numerical simulations are compared with experimental data.
Turbulentní tokové charakteristiky nenewtonovských jemnozrnných suspenzí při proudění v potrubí
El-Nahhas, K. ; Vlasák, Pavel
The prediction of the turbulent flow pressure losses for non-Newtonian suspensions is still one of the difficult theoretical and practical problems. The difficulty results from the fact that the turbulent flow behaviour could be found independent on the rheological characteristics determined experimentally form laminar data. The aim of the paper is experimentally investigate the turbulent flow behaviour of non-Newtonian fine-grained suspensions flowing in pipes
Analysis of turbulent flow in curved channels and diffusers
Příhoda, Jaromír ; Sedlář, M.
Numerical simulation of flow through curved channels and diffusers of rectangular cross section carried out by means of software CFX-TASCflow was focused on the development of secondary flow and the onset of separation region. Turbulent flow through plane diffusers of rectangular cross section with area ratio AR=1.5 was studied. Further, the effect of the inner wall curvature radius on the flow and losses in diffusers was studied. Results were compared with experiments in water channel.
Numerické řešení proudění zakřiveným difuzorem
Louda, Petr ; Kozel, K. ; Příhoda, Jaromír
Numerical solution of turbulent flow through a curved diffuser is based on the artificial compressibility method. A cell centered finite volume method is used for spatial discretization. The time discretization uses the backward Euler implicit scheme with turbulence model equations solved decoupled from RANS equations. Results obtained by two different turbulence models - two-equation SST model and EARSM model - are compared and discussed.
Effect of the inner cylindrical wall radius on the flow through a curved diffusser with rectangular cross-section
Příhoda, Jaromír ; Sládek, A. ; Sedlář, M. ; Hyhlík, T.
The paper deals with the numerical simulation of turbulent flow in curved diffusers with rectangular cross-section. Results obtained by CFX and FLUENT software are compared with experiments in a water channel. The effect of the inner cylindrical wall radius on the extent of separation, secondary flow, and on energy losses was investigated for diffusers with 90 deg bend and area ratio AR=1.5.
Numerické modelování turbulentního proudění turbínovou mříží
Kozel, K. ; Louda, Petr ; Příhoda, Jaromír
A model of turbulent flow in subsonic and transonic regime of a turbine blade cascade using SST turbulence model is described. The numerical method based on the implicit AUSM discretization is given and numerical results for the SE1050 blade cascade are presented. The influence of the turbulence model is discussed.
Numerické řešení proudění v zakřivených difuzorech s kruhovou vnitřní stěnou
Sládek, A. ; Hyhlík, T. ; Příhoda, Jaromír
The optimisation of the rectangular cross-section diffuser with 90 deg bend was carried out using the FLUENT 6.0 software. The aim was to minimize energy losses in the curved diffuser with three parameters: radius of the inner cylindrical wall, and two parameters describing the distribution of the channel width.
