Modern surface coating of cutting tools for machining
Tříletý, Vlastimil ; Ohnišťová, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis consists of two main parts. The theoretical part generally describes methods for coating cutting tools, wear mechanisms of cutting tools and experimental evaluation of coating properties and evaluation of tool life. The practical part is focused on the evaluation of tool life based on the observation of the development of wear using a scanning electron microscope.
Surface treatment for resistance improve of board materials with cement matrix and an organic filler
Zrza, Ondřej ; Vacula, Miroslav (referee) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (advisor)
As all materials used for exterior construction, cement-bonded particleboards also subject to climatic effects, such as frost, chemicals (eg. sulphates) or UV rays. Degradation of theese effects is slightly increased by organic base. Increased susceptibility can be eliminated by a effective coating, which reduces direct contact with aggresive influences on the board and provides longer durability. Theoratical part of this thesis analyzes different types of negatice influences and their effect on durability. Practical part contains selection of specific types of coating and assessment of their mechanical and aesthetic properties including spectrophotometric analysis of color change for each degradation effect.
Modern cutting cemented carbide tools
Štefek, Jaromír ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with modern cutting cemented carbide tools. In the first section are stated several basic innovations already used tools for basic machining operations, which is turning, milling and drilling. It continues with analysis of single materials for production of cemented carbides, non coated as well as coated and with comparing of their properties. There are listed the basic cutting properties of the cutting tools after that. The penultimate point of the work is optimization of the basic machining operations, namely roughing and finishing, for a given application, which is in this case turning on the lamp stand. Finally, everything is summed up and evaluated in the conclusion.
Tools Made from Cemented Carbide
Opršál, Ladislav ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The thesis focuses on cutting tools made of both coated and uncoated cemented carbides. The first part of the thesis deals with the division of materials used for the production of the tools. The second part of the thesis introduces uncoated cemented carbides, special attention being paid to the labelling, production and properties of such compounds. The third part of the thesis presents coating deposition techniques and examines the properties of coating layers. Coating layers are produced using two different methods – CVD and PVD. The last part of the thesis compares the properties of the cutting tools (e.g. their cutting values) produced by the companies Pramet Tools, Sandvik – Coromant and Seco Tools.
Coating methods for cutting tools
Bittner, Jan ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
The present bachelor study prescribes process of coating deposition, namely PVD a CVD technology. In the review, new turning grades of market leading hardmetal cutting tools producers are listed. Further or, some of new developments in field of coating technology are mentioned
Determination of mechanical characteristics of coatings using impulse excitation technique
Valášek, Daniel ; Řehořek, Lukáš (referee) ; Válka, Libor (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the determination of the Young’s modulus of coatings using the impulse excitation technique (IET). The theoretical part of the thesis describes Cold and Thermal Spray technology, theoretical foundations of the impulse excitation technique and models of composite materials. The experimental part of the thesis deals with the determination of the tensile modulus of copper coating created by Cold Spray technology. The impulse excitation technique has been used to measure fifteen samples with coating thickness ranging approximately from 0,4 to 2 mm. Results from this measurement were evaluated using five composite models to establish the Young’s modulus of the applied coating. The best results were achieved by using the composite model based on rule of mixtures (ROM).
Increasing the life of cutting blades by coating
Vodák, Marek ; Lidmila, Zdeněk (referee) ; Podaný, Kamil (advisor)
This Bachelor Thesis presents the possibility of increasing lifespan of cutting blades made of 19 436 steel, which are used for the production of stator sheets made of silicon steel. Its high amount significantly increases the hardness of the material, which adversely affects the lifespan of the tool blade. After selecting suitable methods, coating was chosen. Its use is limited by the resistance of the material to tempering with a maximum temperature of 520 °C. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a PVD method, more specifically arc evaporation, which runs at temperature below 500 °C. From a range of suitable coating the multi-layer FeinAl coating, which has excellent properties thanks to chemical composition and structure composed from many fine layers, was selected.
The comparison of cutting tools for milling of dental impression made from materials Ti6Al4V ELI and CoCr
Bíba, David ; Zemčík, Oskar (referee) ; Dvořák, Jaromír (advisor)
The aim of this dissertation is the comparison of two chosen milling tools. Both milling tools are made of solide carbides and therefore the theoretical part deals with these materials. We compare the chemical composition as well as the milling tools materials. Next chapter deals with the geometry of the milling tools with semi-circular front blades cutting edges and comparison. In the last part of the dissertation we test the durability. The data gained by a micrometric method are interpreted in the graph. By means of this research we found out the impact on the suitably chosen geometry on splinters and wear resistance. It is possible to optimize the produced milling tools or to choose more suitable tool instrument on the basis of gained durability data.
Surface Modification of Ferrous Materials
Jakubčíková, Lucie ; Tulka, Jaromír (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis is about surface treatments. There are mentioned iron-based materials and their marking. The process of corrosion and wear of materials is described. Then is analyzed the main topic of surface pretreatments, metal, inorganic non-metallic and organic coatings. The basic properties of the coatings and their testing is described. At the end are mentioned the negative effects of the surface treatments.
