Analysis of ready state of the Czech Republic to adopt single European currency

The Bachelor's theses "Analysis of ready state of the Czech Republic to adopt single European currency" is dedicated to the Czech Republic's accession to the euro area. In its first chapter, the reader will become familiar with the commitment of the Czech Republic to adopt single European currency which is legally embedded in the Maastricht Treaty. The next part is focused on the fulfilment of the nominal convergence criteria by the Czech Republic. The third chapter analyzes the readiness of the Czech Republic for euro area accession through an evaluation of the cyclic and structural alignment with the euro area. This chapter also describes mechanisms whereupon the Czech Republic would be able to adapt to the euro area countries in the event of the occurrence of asymmetric shocks. The last chapter refers to a strategy that has been created for the purpose of euro adoption in the Czech Republic, to the benefits and risks which can result from this step and to the institutional provision for the single European currency changeover. In conclusion, the attitude of experts on the readiness of the Czech Republic for the euro adoption is summarized and on the possible prospects for accession to euro area.
Should a common economic policy be established in the euro area?

In this paper I will answer the question of establishing a common economic policy. Whether the integration of member countries is good for them and under what conditions. The first chapter briefly describes the evolution of the EU, is also devoted to its institutions and coordinated policies. The next section deals with the monetary union and finally a common economic policy.
The influence of the current economic crisis on the process of monetary integration in Europe

Goal of this thesis named "The influence of the current economic crisis on the process of monetary integration in Europe" is to determine to what extent present financial and economic problems, which are faced by European countries as a consequence of global financial crisis, influenced the direction of European monetary integration. In order to do so it is necessary to describe the process of this integration and steps and decisions which led to the creation of monetary union and common currency. Furthermore, global financial crisis will be analyzed, its causes, consequences and impact on Europe. This crisis and the economic problems it caused contributed to debt crisis in Europe, which led to situation, when some European countries found themselves in need of financial assistance from EU. The measures taken by EU will be mentioned in the end of this thesis which should result in stabilization of present situation and prevent these problems from happening again. I will also outline possible future development of monetary union.
Advantages and disadvantages of adopting the Euro currency in the Czech Republic from the perspective of various actors

This bachelor thesis deals with problems of the introduction of the euro in the Czech Republic. It gives the reader an overview of positive and negative aspects on acceptance of the common European currency. Advantages and disadvantages are divided into several groups according to specific economic entities. The thesis also points to the opinion of some important institutions. Another chapter discusses the suitable duration of adoption of the euro. The practical part of the bachelor thesis presents the results from the adoption of the euro in Slovakia and at the same time compares the period before and after the adoption. The conclusion assesses the overall effectiveness of adopting the euro.
Monetary policy of the European Union

The purpose of this thesis is to sum up the evolution of monetary policy of the European Union so far and to review the impact of the global financial crisis upon the euro area outlining its future. The other purpose is to analyze the Maastricht convergence criteria fulfillment by the Czech Republic and to sum up if the Czech Republic is or isn't ready to enter the euro area and to adopt the common currency. The first and the second part of the thesis are more descriptive of dealing with the historical evolution of monetary policy from the initial formation in the European Economic Community to the origin of the European Monetary system. The third part brings the reader particular information about the Economic and Monetary union and phases of its foundation. It also brings about the European Central Bank which is the most important institution for monetary policy of the European Union and in the end summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of adopting the common currency. In the fourth part I try to assess the impact of the global financial crisis upon the states of the euro area and mention the view of experts on its future. The last chapter deals with the potencial entry of the Czech Republic to the euro area. That review is based on the analysis of the Maastricht convergence criteria fulfillment.
Assessment of preparedness of the Czech Republic for adopting the euro

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the preparedness of the Czech Republic for adopting the euro in terms of both nominal and real convergence. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter describes the process of forming the European economic and monetary union. The second chapter deals with individual Maastricht convergence criteria and their fulfillment by the Czech Republic. The third chapter analyses the real convergence of the czech economy to the euro area based on selected criteria.
Current Problems of the European Monetary Union

The diploma thesis identifies and assesses current problems of the European Monetary Union, based on: firstly, theoretic approach which reviews the position of monetary union within the range of alternative exchange rate regimes, secondly, historic approach which explains evolutionary principle in the process of European monetary integration, and thirdly, economic approach which analyses the viability of the euro area by application of the criteria of the optimum currency area theory. Subsequently, the roots and development of today's euro area crisis are described and also future scenarios of development in Greece and entire euro area are briefly outlined. The analysis shows that the European Monetary Union by far does not meet the optimum currency area criteria and thus the euro area is considerably vulnerable to future asymmetric shocks.
Implementation of the Euro in the Czech Republic in comparison to implementation in Slovakia

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of implementation of the euro in the Czech Republic in comparison to implementation in Slovakia. The aim of the thesis is the analysis of systems of the implementation in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, the comparison of differences and description of reasons why the Slovak Republic implements the Euro earlier than the Czech Republic. The partial aim of the thesis is to discover the impact of the implementation in both countries {--} the real one in the Slovak Republic and the anticipated one in the case of the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts for fulfilling aims. The first half of the thesis gives a survey of history of the monetary policy in the European Union and in the Czech Republic. The second half of the thesis focuses on the comparison itself and analyzes the implementation of the Euro in both selected countries. Main criteria for analysis are the fulfilling of Maastricht criteria, adoption of reforms and the authorization of legal acts.
Development of the common European currency and its comparison with US dollar

The thesis is based on the historical background of realisation of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in Europe which has led to the introduction of a single currency: the euro. Subsequent comparison of the euro-dollar deals with their particular roles in selected segments of the global economy and tries to put these facts into context. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the current tendency and predict possible future development of the position of the world currency.
Assessment of the ECB's policies 10 years after its inception in terms of its impact on the individual euro area economies

My thesis deals with the topic of monetary policy of the European Central Bank and its impact on the four euro area economies, PIGS countries, namely Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain. In the theoretical part of the work inform the reader with a short feature of the ECB, its goals, objectives and instruments for achieving these objectives and the development of the euro and its exchange rate. The second part deals with the impact of nominal and real interest rates on the percentage change in growth or decline in GDP in these countries each year.
