Digital certificates and certificate authorities
Lepa, Ondřej ; Hajný, Jan (referee) ; Člupek, Vlastimil (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with certification and certification authorities, certification path PKI and principles of its validation and security. Also deals with structure of certificate itself and possible misuse of included information. Moreover, possibility of misues of third party certificates and proclamation of untrusted certificate to client's system.
Web application utilizing multi-factor authentication
Humpolík, Jan ; Hajný, Jan (referee) ; Doležel, Radek (advisor)
In the thesis are described and implemented 5 methods (some with their own proposal) of multifactor authentication in web application environment. The results of the work is the web application and individual authentication methods (which are attached separately) for use in your own web application.
Cryptographic modules for network protection
Tenora, Lukáš ; Pust, Radim (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
This work deals with virtual private network (VPN) and authentication. The first section gives the modern cryptographic methods, the work of dealing with problems of authentication and authentication of objects and the issue of VPN. The second part describes the implementation of its own secure network-based technology company SafeNet.
Digital signature
Vaverka, Aleš ; Lambertová, Petra (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
Digital signature, the subject of this semester paper, is nowadays very up-to-date. The still rising capabilities of the internet and the vision of lowering the amounts of paper documentation made it necessary to develop a way of signing documents which are transferred through the internet. This is supposed to be equally safe and unassailable as the handwritten signature. This method is called the digital signature. The paper focuses on the explanation of the essential terms connected to digital signature, such as certificate, certification authority, authentication, but in particular on the elementary cryption algorithms, further on applications that make use of digital signature, e.g. post services and electronic banking. In the final chapter, the positive and negative aspects of the electronic signature are discussed.
Lab of public key infrastructure
Slavík, Petr ; Lambertová, Petra (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to study and describe the theme of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Within the scope of minute PKI characterization there is a gradual depiction of particular structural elements, which are above all represented by cryptographic operations (asymetric and symetric cryptography, hash function and digital signature); then, there are also individual PKI subjects that are dealt with, like eg. certification authority, certificates, security protocols, secure heap etc. Last but not least there are a few complete Public Key Infrastructure implementation solutions described (OpenSSL, Microsft CA). The practical part of the thesis, a lab exercise, gives potential students the knowledge of installing OpenSSL system based certification authority. The next task educate students how to secure web server with certificate signed with own CA and also how to secure web server users‘ access control through certificates signed by the previously installed CA.
Hardware cryptographic modules for LAN security
Loutocký, Tomáš ; Lambertová, Petra (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
The thesis deal with the problems of virtual private network (VPN). The first part of the thesis is focused on the description of the basic terms of computer security which are useful for better understanding the other parts. There is a description of VPN technology and its separation of VPN by various aspects in the second part of the thesis. The next chapter is dedicated to the description of realization of VPN by using IPSec. There is shown how to secure laboratory network by using of the products of the Safenet Company in the practical part of the thesis. There are also stated the modular techniques how to use products in the network in practical part. Some of the modular techniques describe security weaknesses of the products which are possible to exploit in the laboratory network and they also describe the ways how to protect them against misusage.
Electronic signature and its use in accounting
Guzý, Ladislav ; Mejzlík, Ladislav (advisor) ; Singerová, Jana (referee)
Diploma thesis is focused on matters of electronic signatures and their possible usage in accounting and business process. The paper is divided into two parts. Subject of the first part is general analysis of terminology and characteristics of electronic signature, certificates and certification authorities and time stamps, including analysis of strengths and weaknesses of these services. At the end of this theory part are outlined some of the most common choices of using electronic signature in accounting system. In second part are analysed results of research, which was performed by sending questionnaire to a number of randomly chosen companies.
Analysis of deal-of-the-day services market from the viewpoint of security
Maskaliunets, Stanislau ; Veber, Jaromír (advisor) ; Luc, Ladislav (referee)
In this bachelor thesis I analyze the market of deal-of-the-day services from the viewpoint of security. First of all, I describe the security of the information systems as a term. I also explain the methods of securing web applications. Web applications run on HTTP protocol, and the more secure web applications use the HTTPS protocol, which contains the TLS/SSL. In this work I describe working principle of HTTP protocol. I also describe the SSL/TLS protocols and methods of their acquiring. In the theoretical part, I also describe the methods of cryptography. In the practical part, I describe the methods of defense against attacks and analyze the deal-of-the-day services. I describe the evolution of both the world and Czech deal-of-the-day services. At the end, I analyze deal-of-the-day websites security and compare the results of this analysis.
The Introduction of the Quality Management System According to ISO 9000
Černá, Lenka ; Novák, Michal (advisor) ; Luštický, Martin (referee)
The main aim of my thesis is to compare the functioning of society EKAN Servis s.r.o. before the introduction of the quality management system and after its introduction. In the theoretical part I focused on the quality management system according to ISO as a whole, their characteristics and an explanation. In the practical part deals with the performance of the company EKAN Servis s.r.o., a specific procedure for the introduction of quality management system in the company EKAN, quantify the cost of implementing the system and comparing its functioning before and after the introduction of a quality systém.
Electronic signature and its application
Eperješi, Vladimír ; Balada, Jakub (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to briefly outline aspects concerning electronic signature and its application in the times, when introduction of electronic devices into public administration is prerequisite in order to increase its efficiency and avoid unnecessary costs. Within the part regarding technical aspects of the issue, the thesis deals with the use of an asymmetric/symmetric codes and hash algorithms, technology of electronic signature and also the safety of these essential attributes of successful application of electronic signature in the real life. Following chapter discusses principles of electronic signature, which is nowadays built on par with physical signature. The thesis in its main part clarifies, apart from application of electronic signature and issues related therewith, also technical and legislative aspects with focus on the basic legal source of electronic signature -- Act No. 227/2000 Coll. on electronic signature. The core of the thesis is to acquaint the reader with the basics of electronic signature. It shows analysis of the latest applications of electronic signature, particularly in e-government (new electronic ID cards, the German model). The thesis describes possible alternatives to PKI, e.g. use of tablet for capturing hand written signature.
