Aanalys of Sorting of Municipal Waste in the Municipalities of the Holešovsko Micro-region
Cahlíková, Markéta ; Hasman, Jiří (advisor) ; Kabrda, Jan (referee)
Sorting of municipal waste is considered to be a significant possibility for everyone to participate in more effective waste treatment, which helps to protect the environment. The main goal of this study is to find out which factors influence human decisions in the question of sorting or not-sorting waste. The analysis on the national level and in mikroregion Holešovsko was made with the purpose to achieve this goal. The results show the importance of several factors, the most important one being the level of achieved education. Other factors , which were found signifacant at least for one type of sorted waste, are the accessibility of containers, age 45-64, voting for Green party and longtitude of residence. The relative amount of sorted municipal waste in mikroregion Holešovsko is smaller than the average for the whole region Zlín. This fact may be partly explained by the differencies in sociodemographic structure.

Comparison of economic and environmental aspects of waste management in selected municipalities of different sizes
HAVLOVÁ, Marie
The industrial development of our society pushes waste management into becoming an important part of both the economy as well as the environmental protection. It is essential to reduce the amount of waste which is being deposited in landfills without any further use. In the next 10 years it is necessary to completely eliminate waste disposal of the reusable waste and especially of the mixed municipal waste. This thesis focuses on the waste management of various types of municipalities. It aims to provide optimization of waste management, in the connection with economical and technical possibilities of various types of municipalities. This thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the issue of waste management in the course of history. It shows the various methods of waste disposal and describes the economic and environmental aspects and impacts in general. It briefly summarizes the development of waste management legislation. The second part of this thesis is focused on the analysis of waste management in selected municipalities. Twelve towns in three groups of different sizes were chosen. A survey of waste disposal and the influence of the size of the town and its technical options on the waste management was conducted. The results showed that municipalities have substantial reserves in reducing the amount of waste going to landfill and also in the practical use of waste sorting. In the conclusion of this thesis suggestions to optimization of waste disposal are being presented.

Šimonová, Veronika ; Krbová, Jana (advisor) ; Pucandlová, Miroslava (referee)
The empiric research on which this bachelor thesis is based focused primarily on finding out whether financial incentive systems applied in the calculation of fees payable for the collection and disposal of municipal waste have any effect on the attitude of the Czech population to waste sorting. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts related to municipal waste services and their management, including the fees charged for these services by municipalities, and the methods of calculating the fees for the use of these services. The practical part contains an analysis of concrete systems of financial incentives, as may be used as the base for quantitative research conducted with the aid of a questionnaire. The answers obtained from respondents are used for substantiation and evaluation of predetermined research projects.

The problem of waste recycling in different age groups of residents
VACKOVÁ, Jana
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to clear up the problems of separating the waste and to point out the awareness and willingness of the people to separate the waste, namely according to their individual age. The literary rewiev is concentrated on the treatment of the waste and its individual technologies. In more detail I describe individual types of separated waste and its recycling. I also follow up the influence of different characteristic of the population (gender, age, residence) in relation to their willingness to sort the waste. The thing is, that the human behavior it?s the main cause damaging our negative influence of the human society on the environment. In the practical part, I pursued the quantitative research by the method of questionnaire inquiry. Using the answers in the questionnaire, I found out which factors influence the separation of the waste with the population. The basic factors were the age and the gender. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to discover, whether the individual age categories differ in the separation of the waste. The most, the waste was always separated by inhabitants at the age between 36 ? 50 years. At least, at the age of 66 and plus: generally, younger people separated the waste more than older people, which may be caused by public education and good awareness of young people. On the contrary, old people were most often prevented from sorting out the waste by the illness, the distance of the containers or their unwillingness to separate was based on little knowledge and information.
Obstacles to waste sorting of households in Southern Bohemia
HAVLOVÁ, Marie
Waste sorting and recycling has come to the fore in the last decades in all European countries. The main reason is a necessity to reduce the total amount of waste landfilled without further use. The aim of waste management is to reduce formation of waste and handling with waste for its maximum utilization as a raw material and minimal encroachment to environment. This bachelor's work deals the waste sorting of household and an obstacles in waste separation in households. The work is divided into two main parts. The first, theoretical part, contains a summary of information about the history of waste management and legislation from the European Union level to the regional and municipal planning of waste management and waste management of waste producers itself. The practical part of this work examines through a questionnaire survey the attitudes of the population to waste sorting and influences that may encourage waste sorting or conversely hinder from it. The results demonstrated that the majority of population understands the importance of waste separation and recycling. On the other hand, there is a scope for raising awareness about the usefulness of utilization of recycled materials. Therefore the conclusion summarizes some of the main issues and suggestions for promoting waste separation.
Waste and Container Management Analysis at Selected Area
NOVÁKOVÁ, Eva
The aim of my diploma work is a study of economizing with packings and waste products in the selected area from the point of view of environment, economy and logistics. For my work I have chosen the towns with extended sphere of competence of the South Bohemian region and there I have analysed the problem. The production of waste in the monitored towns was similar when we checked the mixed waste per 1 000 inhabitants in 2008. It was about 252 tons. In comparison with it the amount of sorted waste was in the followed towns considerably different. People sorted out the most in Vimperk ? 80,30 t of waste and the least in Trhové Sviny ? 1,55 t of waste per 1 000 inhabitants. The South Bohemian region could fulfil one of the goals of The Plan of Waste Management. This goal is to lower 20 % of the weight share of waste stored on the waste dumps by 2010 comparing to 2000. The goal is being gradually fulfilled and it is likely to be kept.
