The Cooperation of the National Party with the Young Czechs throughout the Period 1890-1907
Fabini, Pavel ; Doubek, Vratislav (advisor) ; Velek, Luboš (referee)
The aim of my thesis is to assess a relevant facts for better explanation of the shift which happened in electoral cooperation between National party (Old Czechs) and National liberal party (Young Czechs) during 1891-1907. It observes the cooperative policy of the leaders of Old Czechs, who were obliged to react to the structural changes of Czech party system, which took place in Bohemia at the turn of the century. This explanation is being done with regard to organizational and ideological patterns of National party.

The Development of Small Municipalities – Terms and Operationalisation
Bernard, Josef
The paper deals with selected theoretical frameworks of local community development. The dichotomy "development of community" and "development in community" is used for a better transparence of the theoretical approaches which are often fuzzy. A model of local development based on the both approaches, is presented, regarding both the structural factors and internal factors of collective action.

Current problems in neurolinguistics
Stehlíková, Olga ; Macurová, Alena (advisor) ; Nebeská, Iva (referee) ; Hudáková, Andrea (referee)
Neuroliguistics is a young and dynamic subject. It has become one of the fastest developing neuroscience subjects during its 40 year history. It is also probably the most dynamic linguistic discipline. It is quite uneasy to keep track of all (though often partial) important studies in this area because there are approximately 2000 new studies published every year. It is also quite difficult to evaluate and align these studies into a broader development context. The aim of this work is to accomplish this formidable task. It provides a basic insight into the history and current development of the subject with regard to related neuroscience interdisciplinary fields of study. It particularly stresses Czech language, local research environment and theoretical continuity (or better local discontinuity) of the inquiry. This work - as a first more complex publication in the Czech language - should serve as a basic commented overview of neurolinguistic issues. Theoretical knowledge is interconnected with clinical aphasiology field experience (including examples of language-disabled speech) and also general linguistic views of language system. Specific issues described by each subject are mentioned in the chapter introductions. Neurolinguistics is a part of cognitive science (humanities) as well as...

Výběr volitelných parametrů částečného zapomínání
Votava, Adam ; Kárný, Miroslav (advisor) ; Šmíd, Martin (referee)
Presented work deals with the choice of optional parameters determining partial forgetting. The main objective is to design an algorithm for the development of the optional parameters in time in the optimal way, which would be better than usage of constant parameters. For this purpose, the Bayesian dynamic decision making, general principles of tracking the slowly varying parameters via forgetting and partial forgetting method are presented. To make computations feasible the exponential family of probability distribution functions is used. Applied algorithm is described mathematically using Bayesian learning. The stress is laid on the forgetting factor's choice, that is regarded as a Bayesian hypothesis testing. Moreover, the set of hypotheses on the forgetting factor varies in time. To hypotheses, forgetting is also applied. The presented methods are then applied to the normal regression model. However, the generality of the theoretical part allows the application to other models, e.g. Markov chain model, too. The algorithm is then programmed within the Python environment and tested on the real traffic data and on the simulated data as well.

Converting of juvenile zander (Sander lucioperca) to artificial diet (preliminary results)
Baránek, V. ; Mareš, J. ; Prokeš, Miroslav ; Jirásek, J. ; Spurný, P.
Weaning success of pond-reared zander (Zander lucioperca) fry was evaluated using three different converting methods: direct converting to dry feed (Bio-Optimal Start 0.5-0.8 mm) – variant A, three– day application of semi-moist feeding mixture on the base of fish – variant B and three-day application of semi-moist mixture + three-day co-feeding of semi-moist mixture and dry feed. These methods were evaluated regarding specific growth rate (SGR), Fulton´s factor of weight condition (FWC), survival and cannibalism. The average onset total length of fish was 35.22 ± 2.15 mm and the average individual weight was 0.31 ± 0.05 g. There were 600 individuals in each circular tank. The initial stock density was 0.62 g.l-1 (2 fish.l-1). The water temperature during this experiment fluctuated in intervals 22 – 24oC. Fish survival during a 14-day period of rearing ranged from 34.33% [C] to 50.33% [A]. Variant A and B were achieved better weaning performance than variant C regarding all parameters.

A comparison of Czech and German regulations of contractual representation with regard to the proposed regulation in the new Civil Code draft
Hlavová, Lucie ; Dvořák, Jan (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
LEGAL COMPARISON OF REPRESENTATION GRANTED BY THE PRINCIPAL UNDER THE CZECH AND GERMAN CIVIL CODE WITH REGARD TO THE PROPOSAL OF A NEW CZECH CIVIL CODE Legal representation (agency) belongs to the most important legal institutes within the private autonomy of each person. Acting on behalf of the principal, the representative (agent) has the authority to affect directly the legal position of the principal. The valid Czech Civil Code of 1964 regulates this legal institute in only a few provisions, the commentaries on this Act and civil law books deal only with the basic information and there is not a single Czech monograph on this topic. It may invoke that this institute is not the complicated one but this would be fully wrong. There are many questions regarding the relationship between the principal and the representative or between the representative and the third party. A lot of problems are traditionally caused by the legal authority, its scope and ending. In order to create a modern private law in the Czech Republic, which should put an end to the legal development of the past decades influenced by socialism, a new Civil Code should be created. This gives a chance also to a better regulation of agency adequate to the right of people to determine their private sphere and to the protection of third parties...

Application of Value Added Tax in Association without Legal Personality
Juračková, Petra ; Svátková, Slavomíra (advisor) ; Benda, Václav (referee)
The theme of this diploma thesis is "Application of Value Added Tax (VAT) in Association without Legal Personality". The thesis focuses on such type of association that is mainly used by entrepreneurs-individuals for the purposes of their consistent gainful activity. This type of association is the most common in practice. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is theoretical and provides with a general view of the legal frame of the association without legal personality under the Civil Code which represents the main basis for the application of the Law of VAT. Association participants who have the status of VAT taxpayers are obliged to observe general VAT rules, but there are some exceptions. The second chapter of the thesis is dealing with the analysis of legal regulations of the association without legal personality governed by the Law of VAT. With regard to the fact that these legal regulations are insufficient, the diploma thesis should offer proposals for making them better. So that the legal certainty of association participants could become higher.

Responding to the Holocaust: the survivor's complex in reality and fiction
Míčková, Klára ; Frankl, Michal (referee) ; Ulmanová, Hana (advisor)
The survivor's complex is indeed a complicated matter which in itself might be discussed in greater detail than suggested here. Defining it mainly on psychological and psychiatric grounds is best suitable for the attempted literary analysis of the characters' inner souls and mental burdens. However, it could also be approached from social or cultural views which for the sake of the main theme of my thesis, which is to apply conclusions regarding authentic survivors and their real post-Holocaust lives to the characters created by the imaginative minds of fiction writers, I omit. Likewise, Cynthia Ozick's Rosa and Saul Bellow's Mr. Sammler's Planet can be treated purely as works of literary imagination without taking the survivor's complex into account and discussed in terms of their narrations or themes only. Nevertheless, without studying the survivor's complex, an important part of the works', or better characters' analyses would be neglected. I am not suggesting that all fiction about the Holocaust incorporates and displays the survivor's complex, but the complex still remains a part of most (both authentic and fictional) survivors' post-Holocaust lives and should therefore be given enough space in the analyses of works which deal with the theme of the Holocaust. The aim of the first part of this work was...

Rationality of child labour and its effects on labour market
Vislous, Václav ; Benáček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Bauer, Michal (referee)
Child labor is still a big issue in the developing world. However, with an expand- ing literature base, we can conprehend its sources and policies in which we try to affect it in a much more precise way. This thesis reviews relevant literature regarding child labor. The scope of this review covers historical origins of child labor during the Industrial Revolution, its basic economic modelling, coercive measures against child labor, the effects of globalization, international trade, transitory income shocks and credit constraints on child labor and education. The main contribution to the literature are the three lessons about child labor. First, the parallels between findings about child labor in today's developing countries and the Industrial Revolution are studied. Second, it is showed that in the case of an import ban on child labor produce, there is always a better solution for children. Finally, previously unstudied consequences of Conditional Cash Transfer programs on children's motivation for education are related. Keywords Child labor, history, international trade, globalization, transitory income shocks, credit constraints, education, food for education, coercive measures, intrinsic motivation

Murry Rothbard a jeho přispění k objasnění Velké hospodářské krize
Sejček, Zdeněk ; Potužák, Pavel (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
There were many attempts to explain what exactly happened to USA?s economy between years 1921 and 1929. First and for many years the only one ?mainstream? explanation was that the main cause of Great Depression was underconsumption and overinvestment brought about by irresponsible customers and much more irresponsible investors. But there were also other explanations, based on totally contradictory conclusions and main cause of business cycles was found in state?s driven monetary expansion. Murray Rothbard?s explanation, based on Austrian Business Cycle Theory and developed in his book America?s Great Depression (written in 1963), is just one of them. In this book (despite of it has more than 300 pages) he advocates only one receipt how to avoid depressions: to stop FED?s power to inflate. Only this governmental agency, delegated by government to care about money and to expand money stock when necessary, can cause such big depression as Great Depression had been. Natural business cycle, less serious without compare, is organic part of every market and there is no reason to fight against it. But in the background with ever-present governmental attempt to do things better than something uncontrolled like market, business cycle changes itself to destructive long-term process that might take multiple more time to recover back to prosperous and healthy economic system. As Rothbard pointed out, all depressions without governmental interference were short-lived and self-adjustment process completed itself as rapidly as possible. The main ambition of my work would be to summarize Murray Rothbard?s work regarding Business Cycle and especially Great Depression and put it in context of Austrian Business Cycle Theory.
