Adjuvant mucosal immunization of mice against influenza virus
Zanvit, Peter
Influenza virus infections cause considerable morbidity and mortality in the world. Current immunization against influenza is provided using parenterally given influenza vaccines. These vaccines can induce good systemic immunity but they fail to induce a protective mucosal immunity. Because of persisting threat of new highly pathogenic influenza A subtypes development, a vaccination inducing intersubtypic cross-protection is desirable. The principal aims of the present study were: firstly, to explore the effect of Bacillus firmus (BF) and its delipidated form (DBF) as mucosal adjuvants for immunization via respiratory tract, secondly to test the potencial of BF and DBF to induce intrasubtypic and intersubtypic protection and finally to characterize the mechanism of adjuvant effect. The adjuvant effect of BF and DBF was tested after intratracheal or intranasal immunization of mice with inactivated influenza virus type A or B. Both types of immunization stimulated both systemic and mucosal immunity. Inactivated influenza virus type B was less immunogenic in contrast to type A. Adjuvant immunization with mixture of virus (type A or B) + DBF increased both systemic and mucosal antibody response. The effect of BF and DBF on induction of heterosubtypic immunity was tested in in vivo protective...

Řezáčová, Tereza ; Pšenička, Martin (referee) ; Etlík, Jaroslav (advisor)
In the first place this BA thesis deals with the origin of ,,a dance musical" as a particular dramatic form which was named by a choreographer and a director Libor Vaculík, who does not attach this a bigger importance in the field of terminology. The work is divided into three parts - history, research and analysis. First part concentrates on the origin and the development of the ballet and the musical as a basic genres, from which originates Vaculík's term for this border genre. The second part is dedicated to the problem of ,,dance musical" within the scope of a world music drama and it is shown there on selected exemples the possible ways of a development of this new form. The last, analytical part connected with Vaculík's production is directed to analysis of two ,,dance musicals" according to Freytag's model of drama structure.

Princ, Michael ; Netuka, Martin (advisor) ; Seidler, Jakub (referee)
The thesis concentrate on a volatility analysis os a stock market in the Czech Republic in years 1994-2009 including a comparison with a data available from world developed stock markets - namely European region, USA and Japan, econometric tools include GARCH model and its most popular derivates and generalisations I.E. IGARCH, EGARCH AND APARCH PROCESSES. The thesis is split into two main parts. The first part is devoted to a PSE volatility analysis based only on domestic data series involving GARCH class model estimations, forecasting abilities comparison and also a structural-break analysis based on the ICSS algorithm including the Inclan-Tiao test and its successors. Next part involves a dynamic analysis based on DCC MVGARCH model, which describes a change in a volatility spillover effect during the time. Data source used during the model estimation includes a development of stock indices and also net profits from point of view of Czech investor investing on global markets. It is furthermore supported by Granger causality estimation, which reveals a long-lasting unidirectional dependence of PSE on other developed markets. The complex results, which arise from a synergistic compound of particular econometric models, show that the stock market in the Czech Republic came through three main phases.

Daňková, Zuzana ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (referee)
Private International Law - Companies Abstract: Comparative company law is about taking in the experience of others in a competitive way, and finding a joint solution to the cross-border issues appearing for and from companies that are confronted by global competition. All over the world company law is undergoing fundamental change, particularly in Europe. European countries have committed themselves to and begun extensive reform of their company legislation. In this paper I argue the reasons for such a movement. The harmonization of national company laws was long the main concern of the European Union. An increasing EU harmonization was taking place through the Company Law Directives, designed mostly to protect stakeholders such as minority shareholders, creditors and employees, and was motivated by the desire to establish a situation in which every competing business from different Member States has a fair and equal chance of succeeding and to prevent Member States from participating in a 'race to the bottom' as a means to attract investment. Therefore, mobility of companies was not a priority for the EC at that time. However, this became different with the adoption of the European Company Statute. This regulation is the first European law which enables a cross-border merger as well as the transfer of the...
