Using of biometric methods in IS applications

The main objective of this bachelor thesis is an analysis of selected companies on the Czech biometric market. Performed analysis is focused on biometrics products and offered services in this area. The obtained information is compared with the selected criteria. The final evaluation is done for three groups of costumers, each of the groups have different importance of each criterion. Importance is allocated to each criterion by using paired comparisons. This method is also used to evaluate companies according to various criteria. Sequence of companies for each group of costumers is determined by using weighted sum, where the result of company is sum of results in criterion multiplied by relevant value of weight. The analysis of companies can be taken as supportive documentation for the final selection of vendor of biometrics system. Analysis gives a comprehensive overview of companies, their products and services. It also provides a clear comparison and evaluation of each company result.
The Comparison of Web Pages of Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is to compare user interface of two ministries websites. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. First, there is brief describe the history and current state of the Internet and websites. Second, there is comparison of executive branch of Government and legislation of access to information in CR and SR. In the main part there is a critical analysis and comparison of the two websites. To achieve the goals there is description the main principles of making applicable, accessible, graphically nice and user-friendly websites. These principles also include information architecture, navigation structure, typography and graphic design. From principles above follows the core part of the thesis: critical analysis and comparison websites. In the thesis there are also suggestions on possible improvements that may be useful for website's developers.
Decision analysis selecting an information system for small business.

This diploma deals with the use of decision analysis methods to solve the decision problem of selecting an information system for small business. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts, methods and procedures related to information systems and decision theory, the practical part use methods of the decision analysis and chose the best option and suggest the optimal decision.
The Implementation of Quality Standards of Social Welfare Services in The Social Welfare Institution Stod.

The aim of my extended essay is to map out a state of an introduction of quality standards of social services in Social Welfare Institition of Stod. Process of a standard formation and their division into three basic parts are described in the first theoretical part. This is followed by a detailed acquaintance with the content of all the standards which is complemented by some instructions how to distinguish their filling and the most frequent mistakes. We can also find an explanation of a new terminology here which is used in the standards most often. The results of my carried-out qualitative research are presented in the following part. These were obtained by means of evaluating the interviews with some users and providers of social services, by making a content analysis of documentation and an analysis of various situations arising during the formation and introduction of standards in Social Welfare Institution of Stod. In this part, there is also a SWOT analysis of the current state of filling standards in this institution. The valuable point of the whole research is a suggestion of a methodical procedure during the intruduction of quality standards of social services which can be an instruction for other institutions. In the closing part of my extended essay, some measures are suggested which should contribute to a faster implementation of the standards into practice.
Multiple Criteria Decision Making of Stocks Traded in Terms of SPAD

The subject of the diploma paper is multiple criteria analysis of stocks traded on Prague Stock Exchange in terms of System for Support of the Share and Bond Markets. The first part of theoretical passage discusses an introduction of exchange markets with an emphasis on Czech surrounding. The next extensive segment enters on decision making theory. In this chapter we can study basic ideas and connections in multiple criteria decision making. The most comprehensive section is created by theoretical study of methods in multiple criteria decision making. The last partition deals with share's analysis which is based on an application of suitable methodical approaches developed theoretically more closely in previous parts of the diploma paper. The main goal of the paper represents a release of investment recommendation for a potential investor decided to insert his free financial means into some of the most liquid stocks on Prague Stock Exchange.
The Comparison of Web Pages of Chosen Industrial Cities of EU

This bachelor thesis devotes to the methods of rating and comparing of web pages. It provides a historical evolution of web page as itself and its significance for contemporary society. The main aim is to make up and describe newly created groups of rating criteria for an act of comparing web presentations. And also to apply those criteria on chosen web pages. These pages are three industrial cities of the European Union. They are Ostrava for the Czech Republic, polish Gdansk and Leipzig for Germany. Results are at least two. By the first I mean the rating methodology useful for not only industrial cities and the second one is a summary of the applied methodology of particular city pages.
The comparation of web pages of specific towns from Czech Republic

The point of interest of this thesis is analysis and comparation of web pages of three towns from Czech Republic. It also includes several notes about using an internet in goverment sector. There are set the criteria of avaluation in the first part of analysis. Each criterion has several points of view and each criterion is evaluated by specific numer of points. Also each criterion has its specific weight in complex evaluation. The final result is based upon summ of above mentioned points. The second part of thesis is the analysis of each town separately and also in comaparation with the others. In conclusion there are suggestions and recomandations for farther development of web pages contained in analysis.
Unit Trust Evaluation in Light of Multiple-Criteria Decision Making

The target of this work is to evaluate the unit trusts in light of the multiple-criteria decision making. The unit trusts are divided into the groups according to the investor categories: unit trusts with conservative, balanced and aggressive portfolio. The unit trusts were lined up by the medium of the multiple-criteria decision making methods (PRIAM, ORESTE, MAPPAC) and it is also made an analysis why have each of the methods chosen the particular unit trust in the group as the best compromise variant.
Aplication of multicriteria evaluation of alternatives in recruitment process

The thesis describes the application of several methods of multicriterial evaluation of alternatives (MEoA) in various phases of the recruitment process for the position Corporate Account Manager in Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a.s. In the first round, the group of all enrolled candidates is reduced using aspiration levels. In the second round, this narrowed down group goes through the Assessment Centre. Using other methods of MEoA, the most suitable candidate for the position is chosen.
