Interception of Modern Encrypted Protocols
Marček, Ján ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Kajan, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with the introduction to the security mechanism. The procedure explains the basic concepts, principles of cryptography and security of modern protocols and basic principles that are used for information transmission network. The work also describes the most common types of attacks targeting the eavesdropping of communication. The result is a design of the eavesdropping and the implementation of an attack on the secure communication of the SSL protocol..The attacker uses a false certificate and attacks based on poisoning the ARP and DNS tables for this purpose. The thesis discusses the principles of the SSL protocol and methodology of attacks on the ARP and DNS tables.
Communication scheme of WSN in Omnet simulator
Mikauš, Jiří ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Holešinský, Pavel (advisor)
In the introduction of this semestral thesis there is an theory about wireless sensor networks which are still more used. Wireless sensor networks contains thousands nodes which communicate with each other due to wireless channel and so they create together a structure of the network. The nodes are low-energy and transfer information about measured medium to the base station which processes them and further provides to user. In the work are described protocols for medium access control and routing described. They place emphasis on as high reduction of consumption of energy as possible and thus they help to extend a network lifetime. Further the simulations in simulation program Castalia were performed where the energetic requirement for individual protocols of medium access are compared. As next there were also compared two communication units used in real application.
Attacks on active network elements
Ščepko, Richard ; Kacálek, Jan (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the security of computer networks. The tasks of the bachelor thesis are the attacks on active network elements with the aim of the catching of data between two users. In the created structure with a stellate topology, the user stations have connect to the active element (switch). In the thesis, the individual ways of attacks and the significance of ARP proceedings to MAC addresses have describ. Several programmes have use in order to take control over the device. Due to a big amount of these active elements the source code of the programmes had to be alter. The work with the programmes ARPtool and ARPoison demanded the operational system Linux, in our case the distribution of Ubunt. The programme WinArpAttacker could be set off under the system Windows XP as well. The achieved results and the description of the practical part are discuss in detail in the summary of the thesis. The result is the catching communication with the help of the programme WireShark.
Mandatory access control policies of operating system
Novotný, Filip ; Lattenberg, Ivo (referee) ; Pelka, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of this paper is data protection by means access control. It compares the difference between DAC and MAC access control and describes the progress of MAC due to user requierements. Next part is dedicated to SELinux, what offers more system safeness. SELinux is based on mandatory access control. Making own policy is dedicated to SELinux editor, which is composed of Simplified Policy and is easy to use for ordinary user.
SELinux application for Linux server security
Jirka, Michal ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
This work is engaged in access control mechanism in GNU/Linux operating systems. At first discretionary and mandatory access control are compared and examine basic technologies based on mandatory access control. More closely is focused on project SELinux, whose generation of new rules is explained. Within the thesis is made application for logging evaluation and for writing new Type Enforcement rules.
Chalenges of integration of smart antennas in Ad Hoc NETwork
Makhlouf, N.
Due to the need for increasing exchange and share data, users demand easy connectivity and fast network wherever they are. Recently, users are interested in interconnecting all their personal electronic devices together using Mobile Ad Hoc NETwork (MANET). The capacity of ad hoc network can be limited because of interference. When a smart antennas system is integrated in such network, we can achieve significant spatial reuse, decreasing the interference and thereby increasing the capacity of the network. In this paper we examine the challenges at medium access control caused by integration of smart antennas system in ad hoc networks.
iPad and its potential in education
Hloušek, Martin ; Jaklová, Martina L. (advisor) ; Smekal, Martin (referee)
This master thesis focuses on the Apple's iPad in the educational institutions and provides reader with the compact overview about the device in this field. Firstly, it shows the strategy of the company in the Europe and the Czech Republic. Secondly, there are mentioned iPad competitors from the different perspectives and the comparison. Thirdly, iPad usage in the schools; if it is even suitable device for this field and how students and educators can benefit from it. This is followed by the survey among the high school and university students. The questionnaire was divided into the two groups -- non-iPad users and iPad users. And lastly the thesis shows various case studies from the different schools and how the iPad can be implemented into the curriculums. Also contains recommendations and the best practises from the different high schools and universities, which can be inspiring for the new iPad pilot projects.
Problem of security wifi nets
PŘITASIL, Miroslav
This diploma thesis describes the secure wireless data transfer mediated by various technologies. A special attention is given to standards 802.11x, different kinds of technologies protection originating of the standards and to possible attacts targeted against them. Moreover, it deals with the problems related to password and sensitive data protection which are important to the network administration. The thesis gives also some examples of particular network type securing.
Apple on Campuse in the Czech Republic - strategy and law framework
Bernátek, Martin ; Spirit, Michal (advisor) ; Otčenáš, Pavol (referee)
The Survey implicates that all the retail activities should look for new Mac users among freshmen students of University of Economics, Prague. Long-term attention should be aimed at students who have been using their notebooks for more than 3 years. I assume that these can appreciate the advantages of Mac. Regarding the freshmen students, there should be Back to School program running (as it was described earlier). Highly potential customer are current iPhone and iPod users, campaign like "user-friendly experience of your iPod in your computer" could work. Also upcoming program of Komercni banka, which will offer Macbook for monthly payments for students, is highly anticipated. This will certainly encourage students, for which the high price is main problem, to get a Mac. All depend how terms of this program will be set (etc. height of monthly payment).
Mac as a working tool of student at University of Economics in Prague
Hloušek, Martin ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Gála, Libor (referee)
This thesis focuses on the products (mainly computers) of Apple Inc. It shows the strategy of the company in the foreign states and the Czech Republic. Compares notebooks from the company with competitors on the Czech market. The main contribution of this work is to assess the compatibility of the operating system Mac OS X at the University of Economics in Prague. Furthermore, implementation and evaluation of the survey regarding the Macintosh among students at the University of Economics in Prague. Finally, there are mentioned the alternative use of computer technology at the University of Economics in Prague.
