Malyková, Drahomíra ; Bouzek, Jan (advisor) ; Stloukal, Milan (referee) ; Smejtek, Lubor (referee)
This dissertation aims to provide a survey of periphrastic aspectual constructions in contemporary European Portuguese. The research was initially conducted on periphrastic constructions in the two main Portuguese corpuses, the CETEMPúblico and the Corpus do Portugus, and was then followed by a semantic analysis. The main problem, according to the author, consists in the fundamentally different conceptions of aspect and the nature of verbal action in Czech and Portuguese. Given that the grammatical category of aspect has different contents in Czech and Portuguese, it is preferable to use the term aspectuality as a three-layer system of interacting categories of aspect, telicity, and the nature of verbal action. If the traditional Slavic aspect is to be expressed in Portuguese by other means at various levels of construction, Czech lacks a way to render the variety of meanings of Portuguese periphrastic constructions that represent the different categories of the nature of verbal action (Aktionsart). In the dissertation, aspectuality in Portuguese is considered a system of mutually correlated categories - aspect, the nature of verbal action, and the lexical semantics of the verb. In Portuguese, the category of the nature of verbal action employs specific means that can be separated from morphological means...

Dendrochronologické datování a stavebněhistorické hodnocení krovu kostela sv. Václava v obci Přísnotice (okres Brno-venkov)
Malachta, Radovan
Aim of the study was focused on dendro-chronological dating of historical and architectural evaluation of the roof truss of the St. Wenceslas church in the village Přísnotice. Dendro-chronological dating documented the start of construction of the truss and the subsequent repairs. Identified dates were compared with historical data derived from the available historical sources and Internet resources. Dendro-chronological dating of woody species was preceded by the determination of samples by microscopic and macroscopic signs of wood. In the structural-historical exploration part, my work was focused on the wooden structures and their development. Results of dating and structural-historical survey specified the development of the truss construction in the St. Wenceslas church in the village Přísnotice.

The seigniorial seats on the Hluboká manor in the time of Adam František of Schwarzenberg (1703-1732)
IVANEGA, Jan
The seigniorial seats on the Hluboká manor in the time of Adam František of Schwarzenberg (1703 ? 1732) In the submitted rigorous work, I deal with the topic of suzerainal seats on the Hluboká manor during the reign of Adam František of Schwarzenberg. Theoretical and methodological starting points were provided especially by residential studies and art history. The sources of the work are represented by a corpus of official correspondence, receipts and building projects documentation of Schwarzenberg´s provenance. I have also accounted documents of the central origin and the contemporary literature (e. g. hunting and balneological handbooks). The subject of the work is a research of usage of three seigniorial buildings ? the Hluboká chateau, the Ohrada hunting lodge and the spa in Libníč. The summary of the construction development of the buildings, which has revealed plenty of new knowledge especially in the Libníč area, went necessarily before the search of the usage of the buildings. The survey of these three residences has shown their functional interconnection. I introduce the Hluboká chateau as a seat of nobility during their regular stays, an administration seat and a centre of spiritual life of the manor. Neither the research of the solidity of the building has been negleted in the work. On the basis of the usage research, it is necessary to perceive the Ohrada hunting lodge as a pendant of the Hluboká chateau. Its main role was to provide the posh hunting events with the hinterland. Moreover, it used to be an important element of the nobility representation and completed their residential network by a villa sort of facility. The Libníč area meant then a fashionable spa element designed for cleansing not only the body but also the soul. The local Trinity and Plague Patrons chapel, which was formed as a votive bulding after the plague epidemic in 1713, used to have a supraregional significance. I have also strived to populate? the dwellings. I have managed to uncover yet unknown church and secular celebrations at the Hluboká chateau. Except for the reconstruction of particular huntings, it was possible to look sporadically into Adam František of Schwanzerberg´s mind, whose personal testimony clearly shows the Hluboká manor as a place of relaxation and hunting events. On the basis of the attendance analysis, it is also possible to understand the Libníč spa as a favourite place for keeping social contacts. The Hluboká chateau manor used to represent the core of the Schwarzenberg´s dwelling seat in the south Bohemia county. After gaining the Eggenberg heritage in 1719, the centre of their interest moved gradually to the Český Krumlov manor.

Space and tectonics in musical
Pálka, Tomáš ; Slavický, Milan (advisor) ; Kopelent, Marek (advisor) ; Loudová, Ivana (referee) ; Novák Zemek, Pavel (referee)
Submitted thesis is a result of searching for relationships between music and space, between musical parameters and acoustical features of halls and objects for musical production. Throughout the history of music present a number of works have been composed which reflect a character of a particular space. The space is directly reflected in their tectonic structure or instrumentation. Twentieth century brought about an important change in perception of influences of the space on the listener. Within this context emerged collaborations between composers and architectures such as the cooperation on the Philips pavilion in Brussels between composer Edgard Var?se and architect Le Corbusier. Iannis Xenakis composer and architect in one person projects later the building Polyptops in Montréal. An important role in this change of perception has played the interest in the electro acoustical music from the fifties of the twentieth century onwards. The acoustic properties of architecture and acoustic phenomena within electro acoustic music form the basis of this thesis. It surveys the use of the principles of echo, reverberation, clarity, as well as flutter echo or ?reverse? of reverberation within these compositions. The analyses of these primary and derived acoustic phenomena in musical piece form the focus of this thesis. Whole thesis is divided into two main parts: First part describes acoustic properties of halls utilized in music and the principles of creating of a space with particular acoustic properties as described in a theory of building. Several conceptual types of space are distinguished here. Second part analyses selected compositions from the point of view of incorporating the space or spatial principles within its musical tectonics. Historical compositions from Lasso, Gabrieli, Tallis, Vivaldi?, but above all twentieth century compositions of Ives, Martinů, Kopelent or Nono are analyzed. Analyses are chosen that way to have such spectrum of pieces which are different in ways of working with space but which can simultaneously be complementary one to the other. This part also summarizes findings from analyzed compositions which are sorted by given phenomena.
