The relationship between performance and selected aspects of personality as a prediction of risk behavior of drivers in road traffic
FALTOVÁ, Kristýna
Theoretical part of this bachelor thesis presents essential base of the work aimed to personal characteristics and achievement of motor vehicle drivers, including the relationship between both variables. Particular attention focuses on the traffic behaviour of drivers - especially risky traffic behaviour. The aim of practical part of quantitative research is to find connection between performance of reactive time and selected personal traits IP, OR, UZ, OI, FC, PR among risk drivers (those who drive under the influence of alcohol). Research focuses on differences between selected personality traits of both, risky and non-risky drivers, as well as it follows the connection of those traits with age of risk drivers. We also attempt to identify the difference between the reaction time and reaction accuracy of risk drivers, within the context of free and forced pace of performance and determination test. Research sample consisted of 160 drivers with driver licence for group B, C, D between the age of 18 to 60 years old. Hypotheses were verified by standardized methods - personality questionnaire SPARO and performance and determination test. Outcomes´ analysis has proved connection of the trait PR - experiencing vs. reacting approach with average reaction time of drivers using motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol in the context of forced pace of performance and determination test. Outcomes also show the difference between risk and non-risk drivers within their personal traits of IP - intensity of internal experiencing along with UZ - anxiety. Within the traits of IP - intensity of internal experiencing and OR - common tendency to risk, there has been found the relationship of those two traits with the age of risk drivers. Considering the performance of risk drivers, differences between common reaction time in free pace and in forced pace have been proved, however, there is no evidence of differences of performance concerning correct answers. The thesis contributes to selected personal characteristics´ assessing of risk and non-risk drivers, it helps to clarify performance characteristics of risk drivers, as well as the analysis of relationship between personal traits and performance of risk drivers.
Checking of the Situation Behind the Vehicle

Identifying a genetic predisposition affecting sports performance, focusing on anaerobic activity of skeletal muscle activity
Balkó, Iva ; Kohlíková, Eva (advisor) ; Šimonek, Jaromír (referee) ; Zvonař, Martin (referee)
Title Identifying of genetic predisposition affecting sports performance focusing on anaerobic activity of skeletal muscle activity Problem Inborn predispositions of every individual are mainly influenced by the inherited genetic information in their DNA with the addition of external environmental factors. Based on the high variability of the inborn predictions in the form of phenotypic differences in the anatomy or physiology of an individual, it can be deduced on the connection between genetics and a specific sport talent. According to current scientific knowledge, anaerobic performance of the skeletal muscle tissue seems to be more genetically influenced. Anatomic and functional properties of the skeletal muscle are mainly influenced by genes, which have effect on the muscle fibre structure, blood storage, metabolism, neurotransmission, and muscle regeneration, etc. Fencing is a complex sport discipline where predispositions to speed and dynamic force play a key role. The sport performance in fencing, regardless of the type of weapon, is directly dependent on the interactions between the reaction of the fencer to the surrounding stimuli (visual, tactile), accuracy, tactical and technical skills, level of anticipation and overall physical a psychological readiness of the fencer. This work is...

Pokorná, Zuzana ; Klemera, Petr (advisor) ; Kuchařová, Monika (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of biophysics and physical chemistry Candidate: Zuzana Pokorná Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Petr Klemera, CSc. Title of diploma thesis: Resveratrol - effect on the biological age Objective: Resveratrol is a natural polyphenol contained in number of plants. It is a potent antioxidant, which is known to have a number of beneficial health effects and be part of many biological processes. The compound is produced by plants to increase their survival and resistance to disease. We found the effect of Resveratrol on parameters of biological age-on the threshold of perception of the intensity of the volume (hearing) and reaction rate. Methods : A group of people used the resveratrol in a dose of 170 mg per day for 40 days. We measured by the PC program the selected parameter of hearing and reaction rate. Results : It has been shown that statistically significant improvement of hearing has occurred. The exact mechanism of the effect is not known. Probably operates through a group of enzymes, sirtuins. Reaction rate was not affected by substance. Conclusions : We have reviewed the potential effect of Resveratrol on human biological age. The improvement of hearing has been shown at the 0,01 significance level. The biggest improvement was...
Reaction rate difference between outfield and infield players in softball
Weissová, Adéla ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Reaction rate difference between outfielders and infielders in softball Objective: The goals to compare reaction rate of outfielders and infielders in softball Hypothesis: Infielders are able to react faster than outfielders Methods: reactometer measurement, statistical methods Results: The evaluation of all measured values, we conclude that the players of infield and outfield have approximately the same values. An important outcome measure for our study was the difference between the total arithmetic average value of infielders and outfielders, testing selective reaction rate. Infielders were measured shorter reaction time than the outfielders, but this value was only 18 ms, which is for performance of defenders very negligible value. After testing and evaluation of a simple reaction rate results were the following character: outfielders have been measured in a shorter reaction time than the players in the infield, the difference of the measured times, however, corresponds to 20.1 ms. In this case, the result does not reflect a noticeable difference. Keywords: reactometer, measurement, softball, fieldplayers, reactiontime
