Design of powder preheating for cold spray technology
Kalina, Jan ; Čupera, Jan (referee) ; Řehořek, Lukáš (advisor)
Cold spray is a technology that ranks among the thermal coatings. Its main idea is to prevent both the sprayed and the underlying material from reaching the melting temperature in order to reduce the level of surface oxidation. Cold spray is a relatively young technology that is still being researched. The effect of preheating the sprayed material on the material characteristics of the cold spray is one of the research questions. As part of this work, a device for preheating the powder to temperatures of up to 650 °C is designed in such a way as to minimize interference with the current construction of the Cold Spray workstation at the ÚMVI FSI BUT in Brno. The design is based on significant simplifications of the thermal model of the preheating device and heat losses. In the theoretical part, the reader was introduced to the history of Cold Spray, the effects of various technological parameters of Cold Spray on the resulting spray. Furthermore, the requirements for the preheater device were discussed, several variants of the device design were proposed, and the equations used for the device design were written. In the practical part, the required data for the design of the equipment is obtained for the required materials of the sprayed material, different temperatures, and other input parameters of the Cold Spray injection with the help of equations from the theoretical part. Based on them, the final design of the preheater device is compiled.
Design of Set of Outdoor Fitness Machines
Válent, Réka ; Chorý, Tomáš (referee) ; Sládek, Josef (advisor)
The design of outdoor fitness equipment is significant for the promotion of public health, inclusion, and social interaction in communities. These installations contribute to better use of public spaces and promote environmental sustainability. The economic benefits of investing in these facilities include reduced health care costs and increased population productivity. Therefore, it is important to take care in their design and implementation to maximize the benefits to communities. This thesis deals with the design of outdoor fitness equipment with the aim of enabling strength training in an outdoor environment.
Design of Mobile X-Ray Scanner
Kiliánová, Kateřina ; Chrenka, Ferdinand (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of a mobile X-ray intended for a hospital environment. In the design, emphasis is placed on the compact connection of the shape of the body of the mobile X-ray and the flexible arm, which responds to the knowledge obtained from the design analysis, technical analysis and especially user analysis. The design is harmonious and minimalistic. It stands out from the competitors with a new type of flexible arm, plenty of storage space, and mainly innovations connected to the device's power supply. The greatest contribution of the work is an innovative approach in terms of ergonomics, which responds to the problems associated with the daily use of the device.
Design of Versatile Indoor Chair
Hlobilová, Viktorie ; Tauber, Jiří (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the design of a versatile interior armchair suitable for both private and public spaces. The main goal was to design a chair with innovative shaping and features that differentiate the design from other chairs on the market. The design is based on conducted analyses, which identified potential approaches for innovation. The resulting product is a seating element that allows users various types of seating.
Construction of a small portable 3D printer
Netušil, Jan ; Vyroubal, Petr (referee) ; Bayer, Robert (advisor)
The study is dedicated to the description of 3D FDM printing technology, compares different types of 3D FDM printers and analyzes key components, especially those necessary for a stable portable 3D printer design. It also includes the specific design of the portable 3D FDM printer solution, its assembly, the actual enhancement of the design, and the design and implementation of the braking arresting elements. It also addresses the printing testing of advanced construction materials suitable for 3D FDM printing and provides a cost estimation and evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of building a portable 3D FDM printer.
Design of Fluid Bed Coffee Roaster
Shemetova, Anna ; Paliatka, Peter (referee) ; Sládek, Josef (advisor)
Specialty coffee is becoming increasingly popular every year due to its distinctive flavor characteristics that set it apart from regular coffee. The flavor profile of the beverage is influenced by several factors, including roasting. Specialty coffee beans are roasted in smaller quantities for better process control, often in coffee shops or smaller roasteries. During roasting, green coffee beans go through several phases, each of which is crucial for achieving the desired taste and aroma of the coffee. There are various technological methods of coffee roasting, with one of the most modern being hot air roasting. This method is continuously evolving technologically, but the design of the machines often mimics other types of roasting machines, leaving untapped potential in the shape and appearance of hot air roasters. The placement of the roaster within a coffee shop also brings certain opportunities, which will be addressed in the thesis. The work focuses on creating a design for a hot air coffee bean roaster with a capacity of 1 to 2 kg, which could be placed in a small to medium-sized coffee shop or roastery.
Grill design
Krejčí, Matěj ; Sládek, Josef (referee) ; Tauber, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the design of a grill for public spaces. The aim is to design a product combining technical, ergonomic and safety requirements with an attractive design. The work is based on a design and technical analysis, based on which the possibilities and requirements are defined. The resulting solution offers easy and comfortable operation and maintenance, sufficient safety, long service life and an aesthetically attractive design.
Road bridge over a local stream
Vondráček, Jan ; Zich, Miloš (referee) ; Koláček, Jan (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is design of a road bridge across a valley with stream. For more detailed design was selected variant of one span cable-stayed bridge, from two variants of bridges with different static solutions which were created. Internal forces were determined by software SCIA Engineer 22.0. For analyse the structure were created three computational models – slab model, spatial bar model and slab-wall model. Structure was assessed for limit states according to currently valid standards.
Design and implementation of a platform for control LLC-type inverter with a wide input supply voltage range using a FPGA circuit
Pokorný, Ondřej ; Levek, Vladimír (referee) ; Prokop, Roman (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the emulation of LLC converter control with a wide input voltage range using a created emulation platform. The first part of this work is focused on the design of resonant converters with a wide input voltage range. Based on theoretical knowledge, an adjustment of the emulation LLC converter is made. The converter modification is concluded with a simulation, where the correctness of the design and the fulfillment of the ZVS parameter in the entire input voltage range are verified. In the next part of the work, an analysis of the control issues of resonant converters, more precisely LLC type resonant converters, is carried out. The acquired knowledge is used for the design of a new emulation platform, which will serve for the emulation of LLC converter control with a wide input voltage range. The last part of the work is the creation of an emulation program for FPGA in SystemVerilog language. The work is concluded by verifying the functionality of the emulation on physical hardware.
Automatic generation of typical schematics in CAD/CAE system
Fiala, Jan ; Kolář, Milan (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This thesis is devoted to the design of a functional solution for automated generation of type schemes based on defined input parameters of the considered structures. The first part of the thesis includes an introduction to design and basic design documentation standards, control systems with field instrumentation. Then it focuses on the selection of suitable CAD/CAE software with a more detailed description of the chosen software and some of its features. The practical part first introduces the generated parts and the modifications to the initial schematics and documentation required to support automated generation. The process is presented with the generation procedure using concrete examples of documentation. The output of the thesis is represented on two sample projects that includes generated schemas using the proposed methodology.
