Effect of physiotherapy in respiratory diseases during healing stays
Schneebergerová, Jana ; Lopot, František (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Title: Effect of physiotherapy in respiratory diseases during healing stays Objective: The main objective of this work is to analyze the importance of physiotherapy as one of the treatments used in the care of pediatric patients with bronchial asthma. Method: In the theoretic part of the dissertation anatomy and physiology of the respiratory tract, respiratory biomechanics, problems of asthma bronchiale, possibilities of asthma treatment, prevention and improvement of quality of life in children with respiratory difficulties under physiotherapy are discussed. The practical part is made as a pilot experimental study of influence of various physiotherapy unit length on patiens respiratory parameters. For monitoring of changes in respiratory displays standardized spirometry measurement was provided supplemented by electronic stethoscope examination. Results: The positive effect of respiratory and movement physiotherapy in children with asthma bronchiale was demonstrated. Further the optimal length of one therapeutic unit in the interval between 10 and 30 minutes was defined. Key words: Asthma bronchiale, spirometry, respiratory physiotherapy, school age

Bibliographic record ONDRÁČKOVÁ, Radka. Application of physiotherapy in treating myasthenia gravis. Prague: Charles University, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2015, p. 90, Supervisor of the work: Doc. PaedDr. Libuše Smolíková, Ph.D. Abstract Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disease affecting the neuromuscular transmission. It manifests in muscular weakness and tiredness, which characteristically fluctuate and change throughout the time. The most typically affected muscles are extraocular, mimic, oropharyngeal and the muscles of lower and upper extremities. The danger of respiratory difficulties is aggravated by worsening physical condition, which comes as a consequence of muscular weakness and with the onset of the myasthenic crisis. The work is focused on the use of respiratory physiotherapy and aerobic physical activity in patients with myasthenia gravis. The aim is to verify the effect of respiratory physiotherapy and aerobic physical activity to improve lung function and condition, and the disease stabilization. Keywords Myasthenia gravis, neuromuscular disease, physiotherapy, respiratory physiotherapy, aerobic training
PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR BRONCHIAL ASTHMA
Šnajberková, Zuzana ; Savková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Hamarová, Zuzana (referee)
This thessis deals with the treatment of Asthma Bronchiale by using various physioterapeutic methods, especially respiratory physiotherapy. In Theoretical part there is given information about symptomatology of the disease, prevention, methods of examination, respiratory physiotherapy and devices like inhalers. The Empirical parts includes two case reports where the knowledge from theoretical part is applied. The main goal of this thessis is getting to know other methods of treatment than pharmacotherapy. And by this way influence the progress of the disease to improve quality of patients't live.
Adenoid hypertrophy and adenodectomy from the viewpoint of the respirotory physiotherapy
Světlíková, Adéla ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Matyášek, Michal (referee)
The aim of the thesis is the examination of respiratory and postural changes on examined group of children after adenoidectomy and evaluation, whether it is recommended in post- operative phase to indicate respiratory physiotherapy for the examined children. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the anatomy, etiology and symptomatology, which accompanies adenoid hypertrophy. Furthermore, there is a description of the kinesiology examination and complete methodology of respiratory physiotherapy and more. In the practical part of the thesis there is a statistic analysis of the examination of 20 children after adenoidectomy and control group investigation. Examination content is the thoracic respiratory excursion (breathing amplitude) and orientational examination of lungs function (PEF, FEV 0,5, FEV 0,75 and FEV1) using digital Peak Flow Meter. The part of the thesis i also kinesiology analysis and questionnaire filled up before adenoidectomy and 3 weeks after operation.
Handling in adults physiotherapy
Smutný, Michal ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
The thesis Handling In Adults Physiotherapy summarizes the knowledge of respiratory handling in application on adult patients. Part of the thesis also covers the relationship between body position and respiratory motor control. Experimental part consists of a clinical study with 10 COPD patients. The patients were treated in 3 positions by respiratory handling therapy. The result demonstrates a significant change in blood saturation after the therapy in position on a side. It also proves appropriateness of the side position in comparison with sitting. Keywords respiratory handling, contact-stimulating physiotherapy, respiratory physiotherapy, oxymetry, NIRS
Physiotherapy as part of multidisciplinary care for patients following a lung transplant operation
Benediktová, Květa ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Physiotherapy as part of multidisciplinary care for patients following a lung transplant operation Objective: To evaluate the mobility of patients in the first days after lung transplantation. To compare the quality of life according to Karnofsky index and Jones dyspnea index. To relate spirometric values FVC and FEV1 of patients in the period prior to lung transplantation with the values in the first year after lung transplantation. Check the link between the development of quality of life and development of spirometric values. Methods: It is a pilot study, which was attended by 18 probands (13 men and 5 women), aged between 14 and 68 years. The data were collected on regular intervals using questionnaires on quality of life (Karnofsky index and Jones dyspnea index) and spirometric examinations taking place at the Motol University Hospital. The data were statistically analyzed using MS EXCEL, mostly using correlations and pair T - test. Results: Results showed substantial changes in the level of significance of p <0,01 both in the development of the quality of life, and in the development of spirometric values compared during the first year after lung transplantation with values before the transpantion. Another important result was the negative effect of a prolonged stay at intensive care...
