Digital signal processing from MEMS microphones
Koníček, Cyril ; Pristach, Marián (referee) ; Fujcik, Lukáš (advisor)
Proposed bachelor thesis is focused to the filter design for digital signal processing from digital microphone (MEMS type). The microphone types, structure of AMDP421 digital microphone and digital filter types are described in details. Selected filters are modelled, designed and simulated in MATLAB tool to meet the filter specification. The results are sufficiently commented and assessed. Afterwards the digital filters are described in VHDL language and implemented to the target FPGA circuit. In frame of the work the extended modules to SPARTAN 3 STARTER KIT are developed and designed to evaluate and demonstrate the proper function of the proposed filter design.
Web-Based Demonstration of Linear Filters Design
Pospíšil, Ondřej ; Černocký, Jan (referee) ; Novotný, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a demonstration application focused on the design of digital filters. In the first chapters we outline the theory of digital filtration and design of digital filters. Then we summarize and evaluate the existing solutions. The following chapters describe the design and implementation of the actual application.
Fractional-Octave Analysis of Acoustic Signals
Ryšavý, Marek ; Frenštátský, Petr (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on design and optimalization of digital octave and fraction-octave band filters. This thesis describe the behavior of filters in systems with fixed point arithmetics and investigate the impact of quantization coefficients for frequency response of filter. Filters, whitch has been designed, are implemented into simple software in C. Designed filters are in accordance with standard IEC 61260.
Control unit for DSP and audio signal distribution to active external loudspeakers
Šerík, Martin ; Ing. Jiří Stifter, Ph.D., FEL ZČU v Plzni (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
The paper deals with analysis of the problems of digital signal processing and with design of the control unit for DSP and audio signal distribution to active external loudspeakers. It describes function of delta-sigma AD converters, the most widely used digital filters and Fast Fourier Transform. The processed signal will be send to external loudspeakers using an Ethernet interface. The paper also covers the design of signal processing unit's hardware and software. Achieved functions and parameters of the unit are discussed in conclusion.
Design of digital decimation filter in CMOS technology
Toman, Petr ; Pristach, Marián (referee) ; Fujcik, Lukáš (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with digital decimation filter design for undersampling and filtering of sigma-delta ADC signal. Filter cascade is designed in Matlab according to given requirements and is then described in VHDL language aiming for minimum area. Implemented filter functionality is compared to Matlab-generated reference filters in created verification environment. Finally the design is synthesized in specified technology and verified on gate level.
Processing of images of early spruce needles scanned by MR technology
Raichl, Jaroslav ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Gescheidtová, Eva (advisor)
This semester project deals with filtering of the images detected by use of NMR obtained by NMR application measurement of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). This thesis includes the theory of nuclear magnetic resonance, digital filters, basic digital filter banks structures, theory of Wavelet transformation and description of Signal to Noise Ratio calculation. Basic procedure of the MR signal denoising is summarized in the theoretical part of the thesis. The denoising of the images detected by nuclear magnetic resonance is described. In experimental part filtering methods for images denoising are described, which are implemented in program Matlab. These methods are based on Wavelet transformation, digital filter banks with proper thresholding. Effectiveness of filtering methods designed was verified on 2D NMR images. All of these 2D images were measure on MR tomography in the Institute of Scientific Instruments Academy of Science of the Czech Republic in Brno.
Design of Optimized Architectures of Digital Filters for Low-Power Integrated Circuits
Pristach, Marián ; Husák, Miroslav (referee) ; Ďuračková, Daniela (referee) ; Fujcik, Lukáš (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with development and design of novel architectures of digital filters for low-power integrated circuits. The main goal was to achieve optimum parameters of digital filters with respect to the chip area, power consumption and operating frequency. The target group of the proposed architectures are application specific integrated circuits designed for signal processing from sensors using delta-sigma modulators. Three novel architectures of digital filters optimized for low-power integrated circuits are presented in the thesis. The thesis provides analysis and comparison of parameters of the new filter architectures with the parameters of architectures generated by Matlab tool. A software tool has been designed and developed for the practical application of the proposed architectures of digital filters. The developed software tool allows generating hardware description of the filters with respect to defined parameters.
Design of bandpass digital filter
Dvořák, Vojtěch ; Pristach, Marián (referee) ; Fujcik, Lukáš (advisor)
The aim of this work is to explain the problems of digital IIR filters, demostrate process of designing digital filters in Matlab and design a model of ideal band-pass filter with concrete parameters in Matlab. This filter will then serve as a reference model for verification with the filter described in VHDL.
Implementation of tunable digital filter into FPGA
Štěpán, Matěj ; Pristach, Marián (referee) ; Dvořák, Vojtěch (advisor)
Proposed bachelor thesis is focused on the design of an IIR filter. This work presents common structures of IIR filters including cascaded SOS structure. The outcome of this work is a summary of theory, assessment of the transfer function coefficients generated by the Filter Designer tool for a tunable IIR filter implemented on an FPGA and finally an implementation of a filter described in VDHL.
Analýza dat z inteligentního včelího úlu
HÁLA, Petr
The aim of the bachelor thesis is the design and implementation of software that processes audio data from a beehive. The audio signal is analyzed in the frequency domain using fast Fourier transform and in specific frequency bands using filtering in the time domain. The RMS of filtered signals is stored in the database in batches or continuously and visualized by a web application. Analysis of partial audio records can be displayed by modules available in the Python with the possibility of outputting graphs to PDF. Above the data a cluster analysis was performed with using of self organizing maps (SOM), which detected various types of sound manifestations of the bee colony in different seasons, followed by visualization in heatmaps.
