Problems of creating e-learning courses for handicapped
Štěrba, Ladislav ; Benáčanová, Helena (advisor) ; Řezníček, Dušan (referee)
The thesis discusses the problems of e-learning for handicapped. It concerns creation of electronic courses for visually and hearing-impaired students. The main target is to create and publish a sample course for this groups of students. The course shows practical employment of methods and recommendations for creating study materials easily accessible for handicapped. Those methods and recommendations are described in the theoretical part of the thesis. The creation and publication of the sample course is completely carried out using freely available software applications and services. The operating procedure, advantages and limits of this approach are described as well as further possible development of the courses for handicapped. The thesis could then serve as one of the first theoretical and practical handbook for creating this type of courses. The first part sketches out the specifics of visually and hearing-impaired and various types of teaching these handicapped. In the second part of the thesis the rules and recommendations for a correct creation of an e-learning course for handicapped are explained. Principally the technical rules but also some pedagogical suggestions are focused. The last part of the thesis shows the method of creating an e-learning course for handicapped in the e-learning system Moodle using freely available audio-visual applications and publication services.

Theory and practice of Czech bilingual specialized dictionaries
Brabcová, Alice ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor) ; Šaldová, Pavlína (referee) ; Peprník, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the theory and practice of bilingual specialized lexicography, with special focus on the production of bilingual specialized dictionaries intended for Czech users. The main objective is to propose an original methodology for the compilation of Czech-English and EnglishCzech LSP dictionaries (with possible application to other foreign languages). The methodology aims at the introduction of the latest trends in pedagogical lexicography, as presented in the leading ESL dictionaries, into specialized lexicography. The thesis is complete with an original lexicographic project illustrating the individual points made. The initial part of the thesis discusses of the main aspects and principles of the discipline of specialized lexicography, clarifying the basic concepts and comparing the state of research in the Western countries with the situation in the Czech Republic. This critical overview is followed by an analysis of the character of Czech bilingual specialized dictionaries based on a sample of 25 recently published dictionaries of a wide variety of subject fields. The main features of these dictionaries are established and their overall quality assessed, resulting in the presentation of a typology of their major shortcomings. The analysis is accompanied by the results of a preliminary...

The reflection of nordic literatures in Bohemia in the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries
Vašáková, Lucie ; Holý, Jiří (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with relations between the Czech literature and Nordic literatures in the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The aim of the thesis is the reflection of Nordic literatures in Bohemia - the reflection of translations and the influence on the works of the Czech authors in the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Works of outstanding Nordic authors like Arne Garborg, Henrik Ibsen, August Strindberg and Knut Hamsun affected the development of the Czech literature and influenced literary output of Czech authors like Fra.na Sramek, Karel Toman and Rudolf Tesnohlidek, particularly in the thematic, motific and stylistic levels. The thesis writes major records of Nordic literatures in Czech period magazines down and presents Czech publishing houses focused on translations of Nordic literatures in the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The diploma work employs the methods of traditional comparative science (genetic and typological comparison) and imagology.

The Historical maps available on the internet
SCHMIED, Lukáš
With coming of digital technologies, cartography has changed a lot. Today?s cartographic products are usually created in the digital form, as vector drawings. These data are able to be published either in desktop applications or in the Internet. The data can be not only displayed, but they can be published by the Web Map Services technology. The data can be in an easy way joined to any GIS application keeping appropriate standards.

The identification function for the convergence in probability with an application in the estimation theory
Kříž, Pavel ; Hlubinka, Daniel (referee) ; Štěpán, Josef (advisor)
In the present work we introduce the concept of probability limit identification function (PLIF) as it is done in [6]. This function identifies almost surely the value of the probability limit of a sequence of random variables on the basis of one realization of the sequence. According to the same article we show the construction of PLIF for real valued random variables from the special PLIF for 0-1 valued random variables. Following the method described in [8] we prove the existence of the universal PLIF for real valued random variables under the continuum hypothesis. Next we show that there are no borel measurable special PLIFs for 0-1 valued random variables (as well as PLIFs for real valued random variables). We use the proof that is published in [2]. Then we extend the construction of PLIF from R to any separable metrizable topological space. This PLIF may be used e.g. for creating functional representations of stochastic integrals and weak solutions of stochastic differential equations.

20th century haiku in English
Roubíček, Jan ; Houskova, Mariana (referee) ; Quinn, Justin (advisor)
For a reader or author residing in the West, the haiku journal scene is, owing to the Internet and to the many published printed journals, abundantly rich, and from the research we have done, we see that there is also a large number of authors in the English-speaking world who submit to these journals. The Internet also offers the option of blogspots, which some authors make use of; scholarly articles on haiku are readily accessible through journals and through other web pages. This situation allows for a dialogue, where the judgment about a haiku's quality is never simple. In the conclusion to this paper, we will sum up what we consider to be the important features of haiku, and we will discuss the prose-poetry dichotomy, as it seems to have relevance for haiku. The Japanese tradition still plays a crucial role in shaping modern haiku, as can be seen in the issues of Shamrock and elsewhere; there is a clear awareness, in the haiku community, that English is a different medium, with its rhythm and sound specifics, and that the same applies for other languages.

Strategy map of a catering company
Křivánková, Marie ; Mlejnková, Lena (advisor) ; Kiráľová, Alžbeta (referee)
In the diploma thesis Strategy map of a catering company the strategic map of a model catering company operating on Czech market has been constructed. Strategy map was chosen as a transparent and effective measure concerning the important parts of the strategy of the concrete company in a way of visual shortcut in line with the well-known methodology: KAPLAN, Robert S., NORTON, David P.: Strategy Maps, Harvard Business School Publishing Corporation, Boston 2004. ISBN 1-59139-134-2. In the theoretical part of this diploma thesis the basic elements important for the construction of the strategy map were described and also the professional services of the catering company were presented. In the practical part the catering market of Czech Republic is analysed and then, on the basis of determined opportunities, the newly founded company VIP Catering is being modelled. This company addresses VIP clients with the offer of first class quality VIP services. Subsequently its mission, vision, SWOT analysis were determined, strategic goals were analysed and divided into four basic perspectives and reliable key performance indicators were suggested. Consequently strategic iniciatives and appropriate organization structure were developped. At the end of the practical part the strategy map for the VIP catering company was designed and the causal relationships among the strategy elements were outlined. The main result of the diploma thesis lies in the originally constructed strategy map on of a newly established catering company operating on Czech market.
