Therapeutic techniques and their use for children with disabilities at school age
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Marie
The topic of this bachelor thesis are therapheutical techniques and the way they are used in helping school-age children with disabilities. The theoretical part of this thesis defines the terms "therapy", "therapist" and ?comprehensive rehabilitation system?. Comprehensive rehabilitation system comprises not only occupational, social and pedagogical resources, but primarily also therapeutic resources that include (but are not limited to) therapies (e.g. ergotherapy, animal-assisted therapy, music therapy or drama therapy). Therapies are the prevailing topic of the major part of this thesis, which mainly deals with features of individual therapeutic techniques used in specific therapies. My thesis also describes development stages of school-age children, which are divided into "lower" and "higher" school age. In final conclusion of the theoretical part, I also briefly refer to physical disabilities (etiology, types of disabilities and associated illnesses). The goal of the practical part of my bachelor thesis is to research the type of therapeutic techniques that are currently being used for specific therapies in Arpida therapeutic centre in the town of České Budějovice. To achieve this goal I have set one primary research question: to reseach the types of therapeutic techniques used by therapists for treating children with physical disabilities. My research have demonstrated that in the field of ergotherapy the therapists from Arpida centre primarily practise three basic techniques: activities of daily living ? ADL, hand ergotherapy, that is focusing mainly on developing fine and gross motor skills of children with physical disabilities, and (last but not least) therapeutic games. There are several of them being used and their aim is to develop cognitive skills of the child, his or her imagination and creativity and also to develop the above-mentioned fine and gross motor skills. Another from analysed therapies was animal-assisted therapy. In this centre, it was practised only in the form of canistherapy (therapy aided by dogs) and hippotherapy, in which the main therapeutic resource is a horse. My research has demonstrated that, in the field of canistherapy, therapists mainly practice Animal Assisted Activites, Animal Assisted Therapies and Animal Assisted Education. In the field of hippotherapy, my research showed that the most frequently used techniques are horse-riding for pedagogical-psychological purposes and hippotherapy, during which the most frequently used client positioning is lying on back, leaning on forearms, leaning on palms and sitting position. The third analysed therapy was art therapy. The most frequently used techniques were drawing, painting, mixed-media techniques as well as other graphics techniques or ceramics work. Was focused on another area - music therapy. For school-age kids with physical disabilities, my research showed that therapists practice techniques such as rhythm games, games with objects and tools, music and artistic techniques, music theatre games, improvisation and games with singing. The aim of these techniques is to target kids awareness, memory and thinking training as well as help them to express their then current emotions. Last but not least, it also helps them develop their motor skills. The next analysed therapy (and a last one) is drama therapy. In this area my research demonstrated that it is not all about drama therapy itself.

Navigation systems and GIS for the use of regional fire service
JIŘÍČEK, Tomáš
The Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (FRS CR) performs numerous activities related to protection of lives, health and property of inhabitants. Navigation systems and geographic information systems belong to invaluable aids in ensuring these priorities. This bachelor thesis deals with the Integrated Rescue System, the Fire Rescue Service of the CR and its duties, with the importance of operation centres, which form an important part of the FRS CR and come to the closest contact with these systems in performing their duties. The thesis also describes navigation systems in general, their classification and specifics. Geographic information systems, their main components etc. are described similarly here. The thesis also deals with information transfer technologies, particularly those used by the operation and information centres for data communication with intervention vehicles. Further part of the thesis deals with navigation systems, but focuses directly on implementation of these systems for the needs of the FRS CR. The research was based on evaluation of questionnaires that had been sent to the individual regional fire brigades. The navigation systems used by firemen in their vehicles were compared there. Tracking systems, which are indispensable and particularly beneficial to OICs are also mentioned in the thesis. GPRS signal coverage, without which communication between operation centre systems and navigation and tracking systems of operating intervention vehicles would be impossible, is also dealt with. Last but not least the thesis describes the geographic information systems used by the FRS CR, their functions and applicability. In the next part it deals with specification of drawbacks in this field.

Heuristiky pro problém výměny ledviny
Böhmová, Kateřina ; Mareš, Martin (referee) ; Jelínková, Eva (advisor)
In this thesis we are dealing with the Kidney exchange game, which is a combinatorial model of the problem of distribution of living donors of kidneys to patients. More specifically, having a set of incompatible recipient-donor pairs we want to create a permutation of the donors to obtain pairs compatible for a transplantation. We require that the solution is stable, which essentially means that there is not a group of pairs such that it would be better for all of them to create another permutation just among themselves. We give an overview of known methods for finding solutions (the Top Trading Cycles algorithm and heuristics) and for testing the stability of a solution. We describe previously known results concerning the hardness of the problem. We propose to seek for a good stable solution by starting with the result of the TTC algorithm and then applying heuristics repeatedly. We use several known heuristics together with two new ones. We present results of a series of tests to show the improvement achieved by the heuristics. We also present a new algorithm for testing the stability of a solution. This algorithm runs significantly faster than the previously known one.

Collaboration of priest with secret police from historical and ethical perspective Ethic compromise be collaboration of priest with secret police.
Pavol, Jozef ; Novotný, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee) ; Šrajer, Jindřich (referee)
The doctoral thesis tries to reflect the collaboration of Catholic priest with the State Security Service (ŠtB). This is done in two steps. The first part illustrates the historical background based on research of archive materials and testimony of living priests - agents. Results of historical research tell us that it is not possible to assess the collaboration across the board just on the registration of agents in secret police register. Core of historical part is a typology of collaboration. It serves as a base for input to the second ethical part of doctoral thesis. The main goal of ethical part is to find objective criterions for answerable and ethical way out from moral dilemmas. Core of this part is theory about ethical compromise with two normative principles - principle of small evil and principle of double effect. The analysis of small evil didn't get a satisfy way out from the situation of blackmail: in the concrete situation it didn't tell us, which evil is smaller and which is bigger. The principle of double effect showed us, that the collaboration in blackmail situation is without proportionate cause, in other words, is counterproductive to their value in universal perspective. The priests hadn't any guaranty, that after consent with collaboration in blackmail, the damage on their side but...

Domestic violence against women and awareness about it among potencial victims
Vyhnalová, Lenka ; Havránková, Olga (advisor) ; Vodáčková, Daniela (referee)
The following thesis examines domestic violence against women, and information relating to it, for potential victims. It is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part includes seven main chapters, which gives answers to basic questions about the problems. It is aimed at a general description of domestic violence and those involved in it including the offenders, victims and children affected by it, who often get caught in between the offender and victim parents. Also covered are proposals of how to help these women and the institutions which offer help. Rudimentary legislation is examined, and its current implementation in the Czech republic, using data from recent research and statistics. The practical part seeks to establish the depth of awareness about domestic violence against women among potential victims, and to distinguish the differences experienced by women living in the countryside as compared to women living in city. To this end, there has been research carried out, the results of which, include valuable and new advice on how to improve awareness about domestic violence against women.

Czech Proverbs and Sayings Over a Few Centuries
NĚMCOVÁ, Radomíra
Proverbs are an integral part of each language. Language is a living and transforming itself so its form is being changed over time. Some language units die away and others come into being. It is likewise the same with proverbs. The theoretic part of this diploma thesis treats of the definitions of the terms ``proverb{\crqq} and ``saying,{\crqq} their etymology, origin and extinction as well as caricatures of proverbs. The practical part is based on a research of selected people{\crq}s knowledge of proverbs. The results are analyzed in view of the age of the respondents as well as their education and they are depicted in graphs. The proverbs named by respondents are translated into English, German, French and Russian.

The human organ Transplantation Act - moral and ethical problems in its application, comparison with international legislation
Godalová, Tereza ; Sovová, Olga (advisor) ; Císařová, Dagmar (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of organ and tissue transplantations in the Czech Republic and contains a comparison with other systems of law and practices. The first part of the thesis is focused on the history of performing transplantation and sources of law. The second part provides an explanation of Czech transplantation act. For better clarity, the chapters are organized in accordance with the act. The comparison with other countries is included in particular chapters so it is possible to demonstrate other possible ways of regulation. Apart from the elaboration of the transplantation act the thesis elucidates the ethical questions and upraise of legal liability in concern with performing transplantations. The fundamental part of the thesis deals with the detail analysis of the transplantation act and other legal regulations connected with performing transplantations. In particular, the chapters step by step explain conditions for organ or tissue removal from living or deceased donors, organ implementation into the body of the recipient and all other related actions. In chapter no. 3.4 two different systems of consent with post mortem organ donations are distinguished. The chapter introduces advantages and disadvantages of both systems - the system of presumed consent (opt out) and...

The Practice of Sky Burials in Tibet
Brzoňová, Monika ; Komárek, Stanislav (advisor) ; Berounský, Daniel (referee)
Sky burial is a common funeral practice in Tibet. A human corpse is cut into small pieces and placed on a mountaintop (called durtro), exposing it to the elements and animals - especially to birds of prey. In Tibetan the practice is known as jhator (Tibetan bya gtor), which literally means "giving alms to the gods". As the name implies, jhator is considered an act of generosity: the deceased and his/her surviving relatives are providing food to sustain living beings. Because the majority of Tibetans adhere to Buddhism, which teaches reincarnation, generosity and compassion for all beings are important virtues or paramita in Buddhism. So the function of the sky burial is simply the disposal of the remains. In much of Tibet the ground is too hard and rocky to dig a grave, and with fuel and timber scarce, a sky burial is often more practical than cremation. This graduation theses enlarge about this ritual in all his connotation, i.e. historical, religious, culturology and philosophical meanings. It also enlighten about Tibetan approach to the death and funeral services in Tibet. The primal problem is the phenomena of sky burial and it's course, sense and other overlaps (like astrology, medicine, ethics, enviromentalism, iconography and so on).

Evolution, ecology and systematics of symbiotic shrimps (Crustacea: Decapoda: Caridea)
Horká, Ivona ; Petrusek, Adam (advisor) ; Fikáček, Martin (referee) ; Chan, Tin-Yam (referee)
This thesis is focused on symbiotic associations of caridean shrimps with a variety of marine animals of different phyla. Currently, five caridean families comprise symbiotic species. Palaemonidae (including the traditionally recognised subfamily Pontoniinae of predominantly symbiotic species) is the most species-rich and ecologically important of them. Its representatives live from temperate to tropical marine or brackish waters, with the highest diversity in the Indo-West Pacific biogeographic area and the western Atlantic. The thesis is composed of two parts, one focusing on ecology and evolutionary biology, the other on systematics. The first part consists of three studies providing new knowledge on the evolution of symbioses in palaemonid shrimps. We confirmed that inter-phylum host-switching events and colonization of new hosts likely played a major role in the evolution of palaemonid symbiotic shrimps and these evolved multiple times (Chapter 1). Similarly, the switching from ecto- to endosymbiotic mode, associated with new body forms and ecological adaptations, occurred several times in palaemonid evolution. Reversal back to a free-living mode is rare, occasionally observed among ectosymbiotic lineages. Our results also confirm the necessity of systematic revision of this group,...

Similarity Search in Protein Structure Databases
Galgonek, Jakub ; Skopal, Tomáš (advisor) ; Porto, Markus (referee) ; Svozil, Daniel (referee)
Proteins are one of the most important biopolymers having a wide range of functions in living organisms. Their huge functional diversity is achieved by their ability to fold into various 3D structures. Moreover, it has been shown that proteins sharing similar structure often share also other properties (e.g, a biological function, an evolutionary origin, etc.). Therefore, protein structures and methods to identify their similarities are so widely studied. In this thesis, we introduce a system allowing similarity search in pro- tein structure databases. The system retrieves, given a query structure, all database structures being similar to the query structure. It employs several key components. We have introduced a novel similarity measure assigning similarity scores to pairs of protein structures. We have designed specific access method based on LAESA metric indexing and using the proposed measure. The access method allows to search similar structures more effi- ciently than when a sequential scan of a database is employed. To achieve further speedup, the measure and the access method have been parallelized, resulting in almost linear speedup with the respect to the number of available cores. The last component is a web user interface that allows to accept a query structure and to present a list of...
