Political system of the Swiss Confederation

The bachelor thesis deals with the polical system of the Swiss Confederation. The work is divided into 9 parts. The aim of the bachelor thesis is a description and analysis of the political system of Switzerland with a focus on individual issues (federalism, multiculturalism, neutrality, protection of minority rights and the implementation of direct democracy). The work describes the separation of powers within the state with all Swiss specifics, including the "Zauberformel" rule. The work also presents the party and electoral system of the country; the position of Switzerland on the issue of European integration as well as the membership of Switzerland in international organizations.
Political system of Luxembourg and Liechtenstein

Thesis deals with the description and analysis of the current political systems, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. The work defines the form of State establishment, the historical and political developments. The main emphasis is on the characteristics of the separation of powers in a State election, and the party system. The aim of this work is the presentation of the basic principles of the Luxembourg and of the political system, and their brief evaluation.
Causes and consequences of electoral reform: the case study of Greece

The winners of the election have the ability to adjust the rules of the game to their advantage, although they risk the negative reaction of the voters. This thesis will focus on electoral reforms in Greece since 1974 and their impact on political and party system. Thesis will examine the development and characteristics of the Greek party system since political parties create electoral system and therefore approach to reform electoral rules. Concurrently, the work will answer why the election winners were interested in creating a one-party government through the electoral system with the absolute majority of seats in the parliament. The work will analyze individual mechanisms and functioning of electoral systems and their impact on the nature of the political system in the country.
Electronic voting at the University of Economics, Prague and in the Czech Republic

The focus of this paper is research of electronic voting topics applied to conditions of University of Economics, Prague and the Czech Republic. It therefore consists of not only theoretical research but also of applied work. First goal of this paper was to provide information base both about (especially electronic) voting and significant electronic voting projects realized throughout the world. Consequent second goal was analysis and design of electronic voting solution for chosen elections type at the University of Economics, Prague and proposal of possible process changes in chosen type of elections in the Czech republic should electronic voting be implemented. In it's first part the paper gathers, summarizes and presents information about (especially electronic) voting and chosen electronic voting implementations. The second part then describes chosen types of elections at the University of Economics, Prague and in the Czech Republic and analyzes their processes. In former case the analysis is followed by proposition and evaluation of possible electronic voting implementation variants of chosen elections type and detailed elaboration of the most suitable one. In latter case the paper goes on to describe possible process changes that could arise should electronic voting be implemented for chosen elections type in the Czech Republic. Author's contribution lies in fulfilling the goals of this thesis and performing the necessary activities leading to them. Following the (electronic) voting research the author has provides the reader with information base needed to quickly orientate tehmselves in the field of electronic voting. The author then leverages this information to research and process-analyze chosen types of elections at the University of Economics, Prague and in the Czech Republic, propose changes in mapped processes needed for eventual electronic voting implementation, present alternatives of electronic voting implementation of chosen elections type at the University of Economics, Prague and elaborate on the chosen most suitable one.

This bachelor work deals in the beginning part with the basic theoretical definition and classification of electoral systems. In the next part there is the detailed analysis of the development of the electoral system in Czech countries from the first half of 19TH century until today. The last part focus on the analysis of current electoral rules and their influence on the potential of new originated governments and their potential to do a coalition. It presents also the suggestions of political parties for doing a new reform of the electoral system nowadays.
The participation of women in high politics in selected countries of Latin America: current trends

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is political emancipation of women in Latin America. The first part presents the issue of women in politics, arguments in favor of and against more engagement of women. Generally analyzes two important factors that influence women's representation in parliament: the electoral system with its particular components and the gender quotas. The second part analyzes, based on the acquired knowledge, the contemporary situation in Latin America, specifically in three countries: Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. The ambition of this thesis is to identify contemporary trends that occur in these countries.
The Evolution of Electoral System in Czech Republic and Present Discussion about Possible Changes

Contemporary electoral system of Czech Republic is not optimal. It is really difficult to find favorable and also acceptable system. After the velvet revolution and the political and economic transformation was hard to find operational governments. The winning party is not able to create a majority government. There are just minority governments or governments with support of some opposite M.P.s. Is it the change of electoral system the possible way to solution of problematic situation after elections? The thesis takes into account historical context and present discussion about possible changes of electoral systems.
Elections, electoral maps, regional difference in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with regional differencies in voting results of individual Czech political parties. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part describes a theory of voting systems, focuses on their variants and explains also impact on voting results. The second part contains various types of analysis of voting results of elections into Czech Parliament during period of years 1996 -- 2006. In analysis there we calculate with voting results and social-econimic characteristics for each region. The target of analysis is to find out measure of correlation between mentioned datas.
