Corporate Social Responsibility in Czech companies' practice

This thesis represents the complex view of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) concept and above all describes the practical use of CSR by the Czech companies. The first part contents the introduction to CSR and information concerning global and european initiatives related to CSR. The second chapter creates the fundamental part of this thesis and is focused on the situation in the Czech republic, awareness and attitude of Czech public and companies to CSR and first of all it includes the analysis of CSR practiced by Czech companies, which is based on the surveys carried out in the Czech republic in connection with this topic. The conclusions of the second chapter are consequently verified on the practical example of two companies. Here two very different companies are confronted - big company involving the foreign capital (part of foreign TNC) and small originally czech company.
The change of goals in corporate governance of Canadian companies

The purpose of my thesis "The change of goals in corporate governance of Canadian companies" is to find out CSR activities of chosen companies with emphasis on ecological and social activities. It examines the change of view on product manufacturing and thereby the influence on stakeholders. In the first part of thesis I focus on theoretical base of corporate governance and CSR. It zooms in the differences between two approaches -- focus on shareholders and focus on stakeholders. I analyze tools and methods of corporate governance and their influence on evaluation. In the second part I focus on analysis of real companies and application of theoretical knowledge from the first part of thesis. I analyze three Canadian companies, RioTinto Alcan -- mining company, MEC -- producer of outdoor equipment, RBC Bank -- Canadian bank. All companies are the best in their industries. Analysis of activities of three companies enables point to general CSR rules not only in Canadian environment. It is possible to demonstrate world trends of ecological and social projects and activities.

Business ethics

This thesis covers with problems of business ethics on both macroeconomic and microeconomic level. It is focused firstly on specific expressions of ethical business approaches but at the same time it represents theoretical methods how one can achieve them. This thesis states that the basic principle of business ethics is a principle of long-term existing and sustainability. Similarly, it refers to modern trends in ethical business such as sustainable consumption and Fair Trade. The thesis evaluates current situation in companies' ethical manner and moreover, it describes an example of the company Marks&Spencer as a one of the leading corporation in the area of business ethics. Accordingly, it is a proof that ethics and business are not an oxymoron but they go hand in hand.
The sustainable forms of tourism

Tourism is an essential part of our life. Nevertheless it brings some negative marks as well. This diploma paper is about the tourism in relation to the environmental aspects. It describes nowadays main trends in progress of tourism, examines negative impacts of the traveling on the environment. Then it introduces forms of tourism, which are friendly to the environment. What are the opportunities for their next expansion in the Czech Republic and what for positives it could bring. The main part of the diploma paper is focused on eco-labeling of the tourist services in the EU and in the Czech Republic as well. The aim of the work is to analyse the situation of sustainability tourism in the Czech Republic and conditions for its further development.
