Standards for application of polymer optical fibres
Stiburek, Martin ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Šporik, Jan (advisor)
The aim of thesis is description of polymer optical fiber (POF). In particular, focusing on their application and its associated standardization. After explaining the principle of signal transmission by polymer fibers, glass fibers are compared with the polymer fibers. The attention is then paid to the types of POF and their connectors. Another part is engaged in standards of polymer fibers, according to their area of application. Following chapter describes the application of polymer fibers in practice, especially in the automotive industry and sensor technology. Standalone chapter is dedicated to deploying POF fibers in LANs. It mentions comparasion with copper and wireless networks, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages. Chapter also provides an overview of the components used in POF - optical converter, switch with optical interfaces, optical network card, etc. In the practical part is created the design of home network for two-storey family house. The proposal was implemented by CableProject CAD software, first using copper cabling (UTP category 5e) and then using polymer fibers. Finally, both proposals are compared with each other. It has been made detailed financial analysis, compared performance of instalation and methods of cable instalallation. The practical part is also dedicated to measuring the parameters of POF networks, the impact of the attenuation loss, explores methods of joining glass and polymer fibers and is engaged in IPTV transmission simulation in real conditions.
Enterprise Network Design and Simulation - Cisco Virtual Lab
Planning of UTMS access networks
Spěváček, Jiří ; Kapoun, Vladimír (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) - the third-generation cell phone technology. The first part describes the development of mobile networks and the structure of the UMTS. The second part, the main part of the thesis, is focused on the planning procedure of the UMTS access network. It consists of an explanation of the general planning procedure and a specific project designing the coverage of Pelhřimov surroundings. The final part of the thesis contains a laboratory problem including instructions.
Data transmission over distribution power networks
Vašíček, Filip ; Mišurec, Jiří (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
This thesis brings together information about the data transmission over distribution power networks with a view to the broadband systems. The division of PLC systems is mentioned and the principle and characteristics of PLC technology are described. I was also interested in topology and a description of elements of PLC network. There are presented the two most frequently used systems: HomePlug and DS2. Next section contains an analysis of network architecture, especially the physical layer. The protection of data against errors and the OFDM method are described. There are also analyzed other layers of the network reference model, the mechanism of quality of services and the data encryption using AES. I was also focused on the issues of standardization of PLC, the electromagnetic compatibility and a description of the international project OPERA. In the practical part is processed the concept of the laboratory PLC network with elements of the system Defidev/DS2. Functionality of the network has been tested by measuring of the bit rate on the physical and application layer.
Building and using of a small computer networks
Chuchmák, Miroslav ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
This Bachelor Thesis deals with designing and building home network according to user requirements. A major aim of this thesis is to describe how to proceed, when creating a draft of home network extension. It is explained how the network can be expanded by other network elements, so that, it allows users to access the Internet and data store from home network and beyond. The Bachelor Thesis is divided into four segments. The first segment assesses the current condition of the home network, in the second segment, the new solution is suggested. The third segment describes the realization of a home network, including the configuration of a new device. The last part evaluates the new state, including the cost of implementation.
Building and using smaller computer networks
Ďurica, Matej ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
In these days, the widespread creation of home networks, due to the continuous development of computer technology for personal use. These networks are formed, for example, with the aim of facilitating access to information, ease of communication between people and control of various devices in the home. Their development is influenced by trends in information communication technologies in the market. This bachelor thesis is fully focused on the practical implementation of the proposal for extension of the original smaller home network using the new network elements (wireless routers, switches, network printers, NAS server, device for live monitoring of security cameras) and rendering certain network services (DLNA, print server, VPN, iTunes server, live monitoring of security cameras). A given network was tested with respect to performance network and its response, coverage of Wi-Fi signal, testing remote access, power consumption, read and writes speed of the NAS server.
Building and use of small computer networks
