Historical and Philosophical Context of the Art of Archery in Japan

Title: Historical and Philosophical Context of the Art of Archery in Japan Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to describe Japanese martial art kyudo and introduce it to the wide public with the emphasis on the historical context and its relation to philosophical and religious systems. The first part focuses on the history and development of the Japanese archery, different kinds of Japanese martial activities and basic technique and equipment of kyudo in the frame of Japanese archery. The second part describes philosophical and religious systems within the context of martial arts, especially Zen Buddhism. Further, I will explain the general situation of kyudo within Czech conditions and introduce the role and the legacy of Eugen Herrigel, which is essential for modern kyudo. Title: Attitudes of physical education teachers in martial arts Goals: To find out the perspective of teachers in the martial arts, what is their relation to this problematic and if they would agree to include these activities in physical education program. Methods: This is an empirical research, which will be used method of questioning by questionnaire. Results: Results indicate what sports teachers think about combat sports and show if teachers attitude to these activities is rather positive or negative and why. Design and verification of instructional program in karate for primary school-aged children accompanied by the multimedia form of DVD
VEITHOVÁ, Lucie
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to propose and verify six-month lasting instructional karate program for beginners. After its completion, the chosen group of primary school-aged children will improve their motor skills at the level of 8th kyu and their physical fitness will increase. The theoretical part deals with the characteristic, history, elements of karate and the methodology of teaching techniques, which is accompanied by the instructional DVD. This part further includes theory and didactics of sports training, physiological traits of primary school-aged children and the training unit structure. The Unifittest physical fitness test battery is used to detect changes in the level of physical fitness and motor abilities. The requirements of karate grading examination are utilized to detect technical skills necessary for passing advanced level of the exam. The results of the research provide a recommendation for the training practice.
Proposal and Verification of an Educational Self-defence Programme for Women

There is a huge expansion of education specialized in martial arts in sport clubs, fitness centres and extra-curricular activities. It is necessary to discover new ways of getting martial arts more popular to raise children?s and youth?s interest in physical education and sport. Gaining knowledge about martial arts and their contribution to human kind gives us other possibilities of fulfilling free time which helps to eliminate the unwanted society-wide negative agents in the youth educational system. Proposal and verification of an educational self-defence programme ? applying the knowledge of Eastern martial arts, personality psychology and didactics of teaching martial arts. Recording video ? multimedia elaboration as a methodical tool for self-defence instructors and psychical education and sport teachers.
Creating a multimedia program for teaching aikido

This thesis deals with designing and creating multimedia tutorial for beginners aikido. The work is divided into a theoretical part, which deals with a brief history of Japanese martial arts, the history of Aikido and its founder Morihei Ueshiba and Aikido general characteristic . The second part is a practical, which deals with constructing educational multimedia program aikido, its software processing, including a description of the content of his work, which is accompanied by photographs of the exercises appearing in the program. Tutorial DVD includes: basic position and movements of the body, stalling and stalling technique training , walking , kneeling , training exercises and techniques for the final version of a technique for the 6th kyu.
Health educational aspects of martial arts

The thesis specifies the particular spheres of an individual's health that may be influenced by practising martial arts. The theoretical part describes the particular spheres and the ways in which they may be influenced. Subsequently, it points out concrete effects of training martial arts, with a special emphasis on the influence it has on young school-age children. The practical part presents the results of the questionnaire survey, which is focused on the influence on the psyche and socialization of young school-age children of their respective age. The research survey was conducted in the parents of sixty children who practise martial arts. The results have demonstrated that practising martial arts influences personality development, in both the mental and social respects.
The influence of grounding in martial arts on the changes in physical condition of pupils at the first stage of primary school\\

The diploma thesis describes how to ascertain the influence of basic martial arts on pupils at primary school. Selected martial arts exercises are planned in a four month period, and the pupil´s physical condition is closely watched to see how it is affected. To ascertain the improvement in the pupil's physical condition, the test called EUROFIT was used. And they correspond the question how these martial arts activities affect the physical condition of a pupil.

Thesis concerns of creation and verification of Aikido basic techniques training programme, which is applied on children attending first to four year of elementary school. Diploma work consists of theoretical and research part and is completed with photographic documentation. Theoretical part of the work covers history, methodology and didactics of Aikido training. This part of the work is further focused on analysis and methodology of fall techniques, which are necessary for managing aikido techniques. Research part of the work concerns on programme application on pupils attending first to four year of elementary school. Lenght of the programme is three months and pupil´s physical ability is after it verified by Eurofit test.\\
