Biological study of hemp activity
HELLEROVÁ, Šárka
The aim of my study is to evaluate the impact of seed density on yields of hemp, which was cultivated in two areas, and subsequently to assess biological efficiency of infusion from hemp on fibroblastoidal line of mammalian cells L292. Afterthat in the case of above mentioned biological test we want to find out, if the density and different parts of plant will have an impact on efficiency of extract.
Growing and usage of hemp in Czech Republic
KOMÁRKOVÁ, Jana
The aim is to summarize information on growing possibilities of using hemp in the CR. Hemp is dioecious and monoecious crop that is grown for seed, fiber and biomass. In our area most often grown for seed, it is easier to harvest. In 2012 the Czech Republic had sown 275 ha of arable land. On the Czech market, the use of crops still growing. Businesses use it in many sectors, such as thermal insulation in the construction industry. In cosmetics it is used mainly due to oil which contains unsaturated fatty acids, hemp products and achieve demonstrable medicinal effects in diseases eczema and psoriasis. In 2013, also in Volary opened the first hemp bath with us, which thus became the largest in Europe. The work is prepared by literature review summarizes the knowledge of the botanical characteristics, principles of cultivation, utilization, economics, regulation and the growing use of state policy. Addendum to the literary section contains contact with growers and processors (questionnaire, hemp yields, photographic documentation of plants and products).
Positive influence of humate on the growth of selected plant species
Šerá, Božena ; Novák, František ; Gajdová, Iveta
Stimulatory effect of humic and fulvic acids extracted from local sources of peat (the origin of CR) on germination and early growth of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.), poppy (Papaver somniferum L.), pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) and rape (Brassica napus subsp. napus) was verified. Experiments were performed in standard laboratory conditions. Dry weight of sprout was determined. Obtained data were evaluated by the ANOVA test. Tested plants can be arranged in the order from the significant positive effect on the dry weight to the negative one as follows: hemp, poppy, pepper, rape.
Planting requirements of hemp (Cannabis sativa)
KUDĚJOVÁ, Simona
Hemp (Cannabis sativa) is used in many branches, e. g. in textile industry, power engineering, food processing industry, paper industry or animal production. The aim of this thesis is to summarize information about requirements of hemp for temperature, soil water, soil, nutrients and light in a form of literature research. It also concerns crops´rotation, affects on following crops and the influence of these magnitudes on seeds´yield and biomass. Hemp is a plant of a short day. Suitable soils for hemp growing are fertile, deep, well supplied by nutrients with neutral to slightly basic reaction. The plant is sensitive to lack or over-supply of water in the early stages of growth. Total annual rainfall in area of growing should not be below 500 mm. The plant needs the most of water during blooming period. The main nutrients influenting the fibre yield are nitrogenen and potassium. Phosphor influences seed maturing and the hemp grow for seeds needs more of it than hemp for fiber. The density of growth, i. e. seed rate depends on the aim of planting as well. For planting for seeds lower density of planting is better. Hemp is a good previous crop for grains. It can be grown on the same place for several years. The sowing term is from half of April to the half of May, it depends on climatic conditions. However, earlier planting is recommended. Harvesting is the most demanding part of growing because of the lack of special machines. Hemp for fibre is harvested during the blooming period (August). The later the harvest causes lower quality of the fibre because the stem starts to lignify. The harvest of seeds starts 5 to 6 weeks later than the one of fibre, when the seeds in lower half of the inflorescence are fully mature. By earlier harvesting, the seeds lose germinability, by later one there is a risk of huge losses of seeds by their falling out of the inflorescence. Illnesses and pests are in our area meaningless. Hemp suppresses weeds very well, thats is why chemical protection is not necessary.
The comparison of energetical and insulative properties of selected plant materials
BOUBERLE, Josef
The work deals with the evaluation of suitable using of plant materials in energetics and in insulating materials in building in particular from the view of a sustainable development. The Nature produced a large quantity of raw materials, which may be variously used with a small energetical contribution. They can be used for production of alternative energy forces as well as in building. This work also compares contemporary and available range of products in the Czech market, particularly in insulating materials and the work also deals with a possibility and suitability of their using in building.
Marketing of a Company Selling Hemp Products
Hubáčková, Miroslava ; Zamazalová, Marcela (advisor) ; Stříteský, Václav (referee)
The bachelor's thesis Marketing of a Company Selling Hemp Products is focused on marketing communication of CANABEST Ltd. and detection of public knowledge about hemp products which was based on survey. The thesis is devided into two parts -- theoretical and practical. Terms associated with marketing, marketing communication and its tools are described, further it is focused on hemp and its utilization in the theoretical part. The practical part is focused on CANABEST Ltd. marketing communication and further survey results are analyzed. The results should disclose whether people know hemp products and their origin and use them or whether they only consider these products as a drug. Furthermore the survey results should show knowledge about the company CANABEST Ltd. and their products.
Yield and quality of hemp oil and its utiliation
SKŘIVÁNKOVÁ, Ilona
Hemp is a versatile plant. Nowadays it is used in almost all sectors of human activity. Cultivation of hemp brings new job positions, revitalizes agriculture and engineering industries as well as other sectors of the economy and allows to re-establish a relationship between man and nature ? thanks to the help of modern technology. The following literature review, whose task was to summarize and evaluate the potential for exploitation, production and subsequent processing of hemp seed oil shows that hemp seed oil is an excellent source for the body of the necessary essential fatty acids in optimal proportions, and is also rich in other important nutrients such as the phytosterols and tocopherols. The methods of obtaining oil from hemp seeds, pressing and extraction, were recorded as differences in the preparation of seeds, and in the direct extraction process. Both methods have their pros and cons. The cold-pressing was found to be low yield and extraction methods is the disadvantage of technology and resources. Production and distribution of cannabis products in the Czech Republic dealing with several companies, two of which are oil notified under Directive 98/34/EC. Growing cannabis seeds will for most businesses in the Republic of the growing issues of risk and economically and will therefore be limited to more southern areas to ensure high seed yields.
Nutritive and technological quality of hemp seeds
PŮLPYTLOVÁ, Jaroslava
Hemp (Cannabis sativa) is a traditional oil and fiber crop. Its use is universal. Hemp seeds have been consumed in history as a nutritious food. The aim of this work is to summarize information about the nutritional quality of hemp seeds (base composition, amino acid, fibre, vitamin, specific substances content, etc.), technological quality parameters (TGW, the yield of hulled seeds), possibilities of processing and hemp seed products on the market.. Hemp seed contains about 25-35 % oil that is rich in linoleic and linolenic acids, 20-25 % easily digestible protein, 10-15 % saccharides mainly as fibre, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E. Basic processing techniques of hemp seeds include size separation and hulling. The yield of hulled hemp seeds can be higher as 75%. The hemp oil for food industry is produced by cold pressing. Rests after seed oil pressing (seed cake) are suitable for production of hemp-meal. In the Czech Republic, a whole range of hemp products are sold e.g. hulled hemp seeds, chocolate with hemp seeds, yogurt with hemp seeds, hemp oil, hemp meal, pasta, wine, beer, spice, and others.
THE PERSPEKTIVES OF CLAIMING THE HEMP IN THE CZECH MARKETPLACE
PLEVKOVÁ, Jaroslava
The thesis deals with hemp (Cannabis sativa) and its utilization in many different branches of industry, food processing industry and other spheres of human existence. It results from many reasons: lead the human activities to respect his environment, to change the way of human activities, life style and thinking in relation with environment. I try to show the way, how to keep living standard without negative impacts. It means not to limit surroundings and not to harm environment. This is the way, how to live economically and ecologically. Production works on assumption of interests of consumers. For that reason I investigate possibilities and perspectives of use of products from technical hemp in Czech market. Also I investigate the technological, economical, political and societal view. Marketing study of interest in products of technical hemp shows, that there is serious interest of respondents in these products. In the future it is necessary to deal with initiate problems mainly from the view of consumers, study the market branches and each individual hemp commodities. In the first instance it is necessary to press technical hemp as the useful and multilaterally effective plant. We can{\crq}t do that only because of trading profits, which are not so attractive. We have to do that, because we know we support the good thing. Really, it is not important, if we will do it, but when we will start with it. I would like to point out, that there is not only welfare of individuals, but also welfare of the whole society. Still the fundamental is to respect all living creatures as well as to all things.
Possibilities of usage of hemp
VOTRUBEC, Martin
Work is focused on general knowledge of the importance of industrial hemp and its cultivation and processing of hemp fiber, hemp oil and chaff and the use of these materials non-food industry. Within the structure of the topic I also mention the Indian hemp, which is abused by its constituent halucinogením effects like a drug, it is not my work. I dedicate the composition of cannabis, its history, use in the textile, automotive, consumer and cosmetic industries. I'm also concerned the possible use in medicine, where the plant applied to mitigate the pain or to treat various diseases. Technical cannabis is also applied in the field of renewable energie, which is also mention. The legislation deals with the issue of laws, decrees and regulations governing the cultivation, trade and processing of industrial hemp in the Czech Republic and EU countries. As a method for gathering information, I chose the form of research. Used the information I was looking for in the professional literature and professional publications known specialists in the field. The main result of this work is a comprehensive set of information about the problemtice and its possible applications into practice.
