A possible approach for assessment of general singular stress concentrators on the basis of linear elastic fracture mechanics
Náhlík, Luboš
This paper studies a stress distribution around a general singular stress concentrator tip on the basis of linear elastic fracture mechanics. A procedure for development of stability criteria of general singular stress concentrators is shown. Three different methods for determination of an essential critical stress for crack propagation from the stress concentrator tip are introduced. Each of used method is useful for different mechanism of crack propagation. The described procedures are based on three dissimilar physical basis: on the energetic ground – the generalized strain energy density factor is mentioned, on the failure stress of material grain ahead of concentrator tip and on the size of plastic zone in front of concentrator tip. The numerical results can contribute to better understanding of general stress concentrators behaviour and can be used for design of engineering structures with mentioned type of stress concentrator

Initiating Acts in Classroom Discourse
Dudková, Veronika ; Pípalová, Renata (advisor) ; Matuchová, Klára (referee)
This thesis is a contribution to the linguistic and methodological analysis of classroom discourse. The linguistic analyses and interpretations, based on the classification of initiating acts suggested by A. B. M. Tsui, examine the kind, sequence, and frequency of initiating acts. The methodological ones search for any correlations between teachers' initiations on the one hand and grouping of the students, basic language skills, and instructional sequences on the other hand. Considering these criteria, four lessons taught by four different teachers are analysed in terms of the similarities and differences between their initiations, and furthermore, typical initiations in lower and higher secondary school lessons in general are looked for. Finally, our findings are summed up, classroom-specific features outlined and other options for further research, including relevant factors which need to be taken into consideration, are suggested.

Prevention of nasal polyposis
Nesvadbová, Martina ; Schalek, Petr (advisor)
Rhinosinusitis is a heterogeneous group of diseases, with different underlying etiologies and pathomechanisms, and may indeed represent an umbrella, covering different disease entities. It is currently not understood whether acute recurrent rhinosinusitis necessarily develops into chronic rhinosinusitis, which then possibly gives rise to polyp growth, or whether these entities develop independently from each other. Nasal polyposis is an inflammatory condition that affects from 1% to 4% of the general population. Polyposis is believed to be multifactorial disease that is frequently associated with asthma and aspirin sensitivity. The studies show that more polyps were found in nonatopic that in atopic patients. A global evaluation of NP must include, together with nasal endoscopy, symptoms assessment, and CT-scan, the measurement of the quality of life. In my study I used the Sino nasal outcome test (SNOT-22), with 22 questions to ask the patients about the quality of life. They were asked to fill up the questionnaire before and 6 month after the surgical procedure. Twelve patients were included to this study, than they were divided into two groups, patients with and without the factors of the risk (asthma, aspirin sensitivity and allergy). I compared the scores of two groups by using an impaired Student t...

The impact of working load on nurses in intensive care unit
Stříteská, Martina ; Marková, Eva (advisor) ; Jurásková, Dana (referee)
The dissertation analyses working burden of nurses in intensive care units. It compares the impact of stressful factors on nurses in intensive care and standard units. My dissertation tried to take part in answering this question. I have used questionnaire to both nurses in intensive and standart units in order to elucidate which factors are really stressful in their job. The dissertation is divided into theoretical and experimanetal parts. Stress, burn-out syndrome and specificity of intensive medicine are discussed in theoretical part of dissertation. In experimental part, the presence of stressful factors found by questionnaire in both groups of nurses are compared and analysed.

Complication during pregnancy - Epidemiology and risk factors
Štuksová, Dita ; Velebil, Petr (advisor)
Risk pregnancy can be complicated by many factors which can switch physiological pregnancy to pathological pregnancy. Screening during pregnancy helps find risks and eliminate or treat pregnancy diseases. If a risk is discovered in general screening, specific screening follows. Effective prenatal screening results in a good perinatal epidemiology outcome. A pregnant women addicted to drugs risks pregnancy pathology, intrauterine growth retardation of the fetus and a neonate with problems in postnatal adaptation.

Complications during pregnancy-Epidemiology and risk factors
Málek, Otakar ; Velebil, Petr (advisor)
Risk pregnancy is the term denoted to a pregnancy with a higher chance of developing a pathology than that of the normal population. Although risk pregnancies form 30% of all pregnancies only 20% to 30% of them actually develop a pathology. The higher than average risk can be present before conception or it is acquired during pregnancy. In order to identify risk factors general (medical history and physical examination) through specific screening is used. In case of a positive screening result specific prevention methods are applied. One of the late risk factors identified in pregnancies are sexually transmitted diseases, especially if their course is asymptomatic. Prevalence of urogenital chlamydia infections has been increasing, and various screening programs have been evaluated for their cost benefit ratio. Developed countries have introduced successful screening and preventive programs for hepatitis B infection. Also vertical transmission of HIV to the newborn is met by efficient preventive methods in developed countries. These methods, however, are not available in most of developing countries. Other than these there is also a serological screening for syphilis infections. There is no routine serological screening for the rest of sexually transmitted disease.

Risk factors of cardiovascular disease after renal transplantation
Francová, Lidmila ; Marečková, Olga (advisor)
Risk factors of cardiovascular disease after renal transplantation This study which explores conventional and new markers of cardiovascular diseases after a renal transplantation. We have paid main attention to new markers such as PAPP-A (pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A), AGEs (Advanced Glycation End Products) and matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-2 and MMP-9). All of them are involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and the plaque destabilization. The serum levels of new markers were measured by an enzyme-like immunosorbent assay. The renal function is determined as inulin clearance in ml/s/1.73 m.We have used Excel and MedCal programs for the evaluation of the statistic data. New markers were evaluated by t-test. We have used 21 healthy controls. We have had 142 patients, who have undergone renal transplantation within a period of one year between April 2007 and April 2008. The most numerous age was 60-70 years (31%), follows 50-60 years (28%). From 142 patients there were 98 men (96%) and 44 women (31%). At the time of the study 25% of the patients were smokers, 49% of them never smoke and 26% stopped smoking. The normal body mass index was found out in 39% of the patients, 58% was overweight . The average time of dialysis was 12-18 months. Only 8% of the patients had a basal diagnosis made by...
