Consequences of recrictive policy in the time of crisis (on the example of contraproductive government of Petr Nečas)
Kos, Tomáš ; Babin, Jan (advisor) ; Rod, Aleš (referee)
This bachelor thesis: Consequences of recrictive policy in the time of crisis (on the example of contraproductive government of Petr Nečas) tries to examine the fiscal policy applicated in the Czech republic in years between 2010 and 2013, at the time of the economic crisis. This thesis is motivated by reserch question: What impact had the fiscal policy applicated by the government on the economy of the Czech republic? I created econometric models by using data of Český statistický úřad and Česká národní banka. Regarding these econometric models, the fiscal policy had negative impact on GDP, that had downward sloping trend. The negative impact was confirmed even on the unemployment, that had been rising, and also on the inflation, which was forced under the inflation target of Česká národní banka by the fiscal policy.

Monolayers of platinum nanoparticles prepared by dip-coating
Černohorský, Ondřej ; Grym, Jan ; Yatskiv, Roman ; Pham, V.H. ; Hudry, D. ; Dickerson, J.H.
Platinum is a transition metal known for its catalytic properties, which are further enhanced when employed in a nanoparticle form. We have recently shown that a monolayer of Pt nanoparticles deposited on semiconductor substrates forms high quality Schottky diodes, which were used in sensitive hydrogen sensors with a detection limit of 1 ppm of H-2 in N-2. Preparation of ordered monolayers of Pt nanoparticles is essential for the understanding of the behaviour of such an interface. To obtain a hexagonal closed-packed nanoparticle array, we prepared Pt nanoparticles stabilized by oleylamine and oleic acid with a narrow size distribution and uniform shapes. A monolayer prepared by dip-coating of Si substrate in the suspension containing Pt nanoparticles showed hexagonal arrangement within separate domains with the surface coverage up to 90%. The increase of the surface coverage with increasing withdrawal speed of the dip-coating process was observed

Global Economic Outlook - February 2017
Česká národní banka
The February issue of Global Economic Outlook presents the regular monthly overview of recent and expected developments in selected territories, focusing on key economic variables: inflation, GDP growth, leading indicators, interest rates, exchange rates and commodity prices. In this issue, we tend to explore analytically the effect of (un)conventional monetary policy measures on shadow interest rates in the euro area and the USA. Based on our estimates, we show in this article that the effect of monetary policy measures on shadow rates differs depending on whether they were aimed at stabilising financial markets or further easing monetary conditions. We also indicate how the effects of measures taken by central banks can change depending on the current level of financial stress.

Smetana, Radek ; Hlavsa, Tomáš (advisor) ; Michal, Michal (referee)
The thesis discusses the analysis of preferences in beer consumption. It is divided into two main parts: the theoretical background and analytical sections. The basic principles such as manufacturing, technology and categorization of beer are explained in the theoretical part. Next the beer market in the Czech Republic is illustrated following with consumer characteristics. It is researched from two different angles. As the first there are marketing factors influencing buying habits of the consumer himself. The other one contains general patterns of food consumption, which are given for the food segment as a whole, and especially for beer consumption. This section is completed with elementary principles of research, questionnaire creation and its evaluation. The analytical part at the beginning is based on historical and freely available data from the Velké Popovice brewery - Kozel, which are analysed and complemented with predictions. The very core of this section is to evaluate the questionnaire using statistical software Statistica. The first evaluation here uses general hypotheses concerning the beer as a whole. The monetary policy of the Fed and the ECB has greatly change as a result of the global crisis. The goal of the thesis is to analyse the evolution of unconventional monetary instruments in the USA and the EU after the outbreak of the global crisis and nowadays with the help of pivotal economic models; namely, the IS-LM-BP model and the quantity theory of money. In addition, the paper should assess the impacts of adopted instruments and programs and draw conclusions about their success. The theoretical part explains the IS-LM-BP framework and the quantity theory of money and describes the unconventional monetary tools that the central banks can use when the interest rates reach the zero lower bound. The practical part analyses EU and US economy with the explained models. Furthermore, the implemented instruments of the Fed and the ECB are described and compared. The thesis should be concluded with the claim that the transmission mechanism was restored with the help of the non-standard measures, however, the desirable price level stabilization has not been reached.
