Factors affecting stock prices of major global insurance companies
Nepšinská, Lucia ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Fičura, Milan (referee)
This thesis analyzes the impact of selected macroeconomic and firm-specific factors on stock prices of insurance companies. The first part describes four financial theories used to explain the share price development with a focus on fundamental analysis. The aim of the next part is empirical verification of the strong relationship between selected variables in the period from 01/2003 to 01/2013. In case of its existence, the econometric models using correlation and regression analysis are built. Considering the chosen period of time the impact of the financial crisis on potencial changes of direction and intensity of this relationship can be seen. The analysis uses real-world data from MetLife. The last chapter also describes its characteristics and compares them with the industry.

Enterprise use of social networks
Píša, Luděk ; Pavlíček, Antonín (advisor) ; Böhmová, Lucie (referee)
The thesis deals with theme of social networks especially from the view of companies. The thesis is divided into two main parts -- theoretical and practical. There is a necessary knowledge base of social networks and its use from perspective of a company in the theoretical part. There is also mentioned the topic of social networks analytics because it's the main theme of the practical part of the thesis. The research in the practical part analyzes the companies from Czech Republic, Germany and United States of America. The research is aimed on their behavior on Facebook and their company presentations there. There are two methods used in the practical part. One method compares the list of companies during the time period of 3 year (90 days of 2011 compared to 90 days of 2014). The other one compares the list of companies from geographical point of view. The goal of the practical part of the thesis if evaluation of pre-defined hypotheses.

Tvrdý, Daniel
Basic presumption of good functionality of forest roads is not only high quality of laminars in flexible pavement, but also right distribution of elasticity modules in soil plain and it's protection against degradation during the process of building. Materials used for TA ČR project, which were isolated from forest roads subsoil, were analyzed in soil mechanics laboratory of Geostar s.r.o. company for the purposes of diploma thesis. Basic laboratory tests were carried out in order to classify soils. Sub-component is to propose a simplified classification of soils for the implementation of forest haul routes. In this work are validated according to the static load tests ( SZZ ) and dynamic light boards ( LDD ) . The thesis includes evaluation of the quality of existing forest roads for faults and failure on forest roads classes 1L and 2L with different surfaces and ground covers .

Do players in NHL play better in their contract year season?
Weber, Vít ; Hronza, Martin (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines wheather or not the attackers in NHL occurs strategic behavior called shirking. To verification the thesis anylizes the efekt of contract year to points per game in the competition. The data are obtained for seasons 2010-2011, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. Effect of the depandence of contract year to player points per game is captured by the independent dummy variable CON. The estimation method ordinary least squares is used. After detecting presence of heteroskedasticity model is estimates with method of heteroscedasticity corrected standart errors. The coeficient results indicates that the attackers in NHL increase their points per game for 0,02 in contract year ceteris paribus.

Psychological aspects of gambling and realted consequenses
HŮDOVÁ, Veronika
Psychological aspects of gambling and the consequences associated with this problem My thesis deals with psychological aspects of gambling and the consequences associated with this problem. The research was focused on regular casino visitors, but partly also to gamblers who have already decided to treat their addiction. The theoretical part is divided into 8 subchapters, in which basic terms concerning gambling are mentioned, for example: definitions and categorization of the terms gambling and pathological gambling, a list of possible causes of the addiction origination, characteristics of risk groups, individual forms of gambling, the development of addiction, the addiction treatment and the possibility of a social worker intervention. The purpose of my study was to identify and analyze the motives for gambling with regard to the quality of life, with a special attention to social aspects and possibilities of a social worker intervention. In relation to the objective of the thesis four hypotheses were stated, for verification of which quantitative research was used. The interviewing method by means of a structured questionnaire was selected. The analysis of the conclusions enabled to verify the defined hypothesis, which says, that playing of hazardous games has a negative effect to level of psychological mood of the human being. Another stated hypothesis supposing that gambling causes economic, social, family and work problems has not been confirmed by the research. The following hypothesis presuming that a random winning encourages the gamblers to continue playing has been confirmed by a vast majority of respondents. And the last hypothesis, in which is defined the presumption, that the level of life quality is related to grade of pathological gambling, was also confirmed. The results of my work may be used in education or as information for social workers. Based on the findings on the issue of pathological gambling I suggest to focus on prevention of development of this dangerous addiction.

RADIATION PATIENT LOAD IN DIGITAL AND CONVENTIONAL RADIOGRAPHY
KRAINA, Aleš
To implement a digital service essentially means transition from the established SFR technique (i.e. screen-film radiography) to predominantly CR (Computed Radiography) or DR (Direct Radiography). The stated methods of digitalization differ in their use of a range of types of diagnostic equipment and image digitalization devices. The utilization of individual methods can, however, lead to different results in the amount of skin entry radiation dose and organs absorbed dose in patients undergoing ionizing radiation examination. The objective of this thesis is to compare individual methods (i.e. SFR, CR, DR) generally used for image digitalization in respect of radiation stress for patients. Radiation stress was compared both by measuring entry radiation dose on phantoms and by clinical results acquired from a KAP meter. To validate clinical results, the three most often examinations have been chosen: skull, chest, and stomach examinations. This selection was affected by its frequency and amount of radiation stress. The measured results were then compared with available foreign literature. On the basis of the measurements acquired, it is apparent that Direct Radiography leads to radical reduction in radiation dose in patients. As regards Computed Radiography, it cannot be generally said whether it entails a lower dose in patients. The measured and consequently published figures imply that there are significant differences amongst individual manufactures of CR systems (for example Fuji, Kodak, Konica, etc.) which do or do not lead, in comparison with SFR, to a lower radiation stress. According to the measurements published in this thesis, it can be stated that the use of state-of-the art CR technology could lead to reduction as high as 50 percent of the radiation stress if compared to SFR.

Deliberate Self-harm as a Specific Form of Addictive Behavior: A Concept of Non-substance Addiction Verification

Text-books and Methods for their Evaluation

Anglický název práce: The use of somatic features and motor tests of speed and coordination abilities for the selection of soldiers participating in close combat courses. K navržení množiny proměn ných jsme využili algoritmu všech možných regresí (All Possible Regression). K ověření vybrané množiny proměnných jsme využili...
