Analysis of time series of passengers volume in selected European airports
Mayerlová, Evelyn ; Helman, Karel (advisor) ; Bašta, Milan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on analysis of monthly time series of passengers volume in three selected European airports (Airport Vaclav Havel -- Prague-Ruzyně, Airport Franz Josef Strauß -- Munich and Airport Schwechat -- Vienna). This thesis examines monthly volume data of passengers in 2001-2013 period. The data were collected from the Eurostat web pages, airport databases and by direct communication between the author and the individual airports. The major goal of this thesis is to explore the development of the time series. In the analysis we use basic characteristics of time series and selected basic methods for modelling the trend and seasonal components. The ambition of this thesis is to figure out, if the numbers of transported persons differ in different months of the year,if and how has a popularity of air transport increased and to compare time series of different aiports.
Futures Spreads Trading
Hrečka, Marek ; Smrčka, Luboš (advisor) ; Zámečník, Petr (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to identify factors that affect the profitability and risk of trading futures calendar spreads. The basic characteristics of futures and trading calendar spreads with seasonal time frames are described in the first part of the thesis. The selected factors such as the correlation of short-term and long-term seasonal patterns, the trading in the extreme, the trading single or multiple crops, the width of the seasonal window, the win probability, the length of backtested period and intermarket vs. intramarket spreads are analyzed from the perspective of profitability and risk in the second part. A summary of the results is contained in the conclusion.
Development of seasonality in typical seasonal demographic time series from 1994 to 2014
Bečvářová, Michaela ; Šimpach, Ondřej (advisor) ; Langhamrová, Jana (referee)
This thesis is focused on seasonality in typical demographic time series from 1994 to 2014. The aim of this thesis is to analyse seasonality in monthly time series of live births, deaths and marriages in the Czech Republic and to determine whether seasonality varies in time, whether there can be proven its rise or fall in dependence of changing human habits and traditions respectively. Each demographical process is defined by basic terms and characterized by both absolute and relative indicators. Monthly demographic time series are compared by using average seasonal indexes and further compared for years 1994, 2004 and 2014 by monthly seasonal indexes. The conclusion of this thesis is aimed on comparison of seasonality in time series of Finland and the Czech Republic.
Analysis of monthly precipitation totals from selected monitoring stations in Europe
Krause, Patrik ; Helman, Karel (advisor) ; Kladívko, Kamil (referee)
This thesis is focused on analysis of time series of monthly precipitation totals for four European stations for the years 1913 to 2012. The data were obtained from European database of ECA&D. The aim of this thesis is to find out development of time series and predict precipitation for the year 2013. Prediction of future development of time series is made by using regression modeling of seasonality and Box-Jenkins methodology and the results obtained by the two methods are then compared. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts.
Analysis of temperature time series for selected places in the United States in the years 1964–2013
Libotovský, Patrik ; Helman, Karel (advisor) ; Bašta, Milan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on analysis of time series of monthly average temperatures measured at seven selected meteorological stations located in the territory of the United States in the period 1964-2013. The data were taken from publicly available database US National Climatic Data Centrer. The aim of this work is to determine the evolution of selected time series. Analyzed data are used to obtain findings about the similarities and differences between them. For this analysis, we use basic characteristics and methods based on decomposition of time series to describe the trend and seasonal ingredients. Another aim is to test the hypothesis whether in the monitored period increased the avarage monthly temperature on the territory United States. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part provides a theoretical description of the selected methods for time series analysis. The second part is devoted to the analysis itself.

The main area of interest is assortment of goods reporting from the perspective of company and their branches. Thesis during the optimization of management information system outputs solves seasonality adjustment, improves costing system and behavior of assortment of goods.
The assessment of price developments of poultry meat in selected EU countries
NIEBAUEROVÁ, Petra
The main aim of this thesis was to describe and evaluate the price trend of poultry in selected countries of European Union during the period 2003 2013. The first part of the thesis is focused on theoretical knowledge - the definition of price, pricing terms, pricing methods, factors that influence the price level, the elasticity of demand, legislation and Common Agricultural Policy. It is followed by methodology. In this part procedures and formulas are used to achieve the aim. Practical part is the most important part of the thesis. It describes the evolution price of poultry in selected countries of European Union during the period 2003-2013. In this part is tested existence seasonal fluctuation of price and dependence prices on revenue population. There is also calculated elasticity of demand and prediction of the future price of poultry until 2016. The conclusion sums up results of practical parts.
Nehodovost v ČR v období 2009-2012 ovlivněná kampaní Nemyslíš, zaplatíš
Charousová, Kateřina
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create an analysis of the accident rate in the Czech Republic in the period between 2009 and 2012 as influenced by the cam-paign called When you are not thinking, you will pay; secondly, the creation of analyses of the consequences of car accidents and lastly, the comparison of the costs. In the theoretical part of the thesis there are presented the basic terms relating to accident rates and campaign and then there is described the theory of time lines. The practical part is focused on the analysis of time lines and on the comparison of the campaign costs with the losses from the accidents. The final part of the thesis is formed by a discussion that evaluates the aims of the thesis and that also includes recommendations.
Analysis of the selected economic time series
BEDNÁŘOVÁ, Michaela
The goal of this bachelors work was to analyse the selected time series by using the methods of evaluating data. These time series describe the average wage in the finance and insurance industry. With the help of regression analysis to determine and adjust the trend, identify and set seasonality (you can also say make trend and seasonal decomposition). Another task was to make an appropriate model, which will describe the analysed data the most accurately. Than in the end to verify all of these calculations and facts by special statistical tests, to be able to make a prediction about the future development of the average wages. However at first, the readers of this work were familiarized with the issues of the time series. I described their use and the ways in which can the timely collected data be analysed, and I gave some examples of the time series. I also mentioned the characteristic of the analysed data, which were found on CSU. In the end of this work I summarized all the results and answers, based on the discussion in this bachelors work. By executing all of my tasks I can say that I fulfilled my bachelor work.
Development of seasonal offer of organic fruit and vegetable
HAUEROVÁ, Petra
Ratio of organic orchards to the total orchard area in the Czech Republic is probably the highest in the European Union. Anyway, as a result of wrongly set system of grants there is grown hardly any fruit. Despite passable climatic conditions for organic vegetable production together with its long-term growing tradition in the Czech Republic the current production is low. The aim of this thesis is assessment of seasonal offer of organic fruit and vegetables for three observed months and comparison of prices in organic and conventional production of various sorts of grocery stores. Out of the results it is obvious that in supermarkets and hypermarkets offer of organic fruit and vegetables is the most favourable to customers in May. Prices of organic and conventional production differ a lot, even among the particular grocery stores. The total offer in all the observed grocery stores is relatively favourable and from my point of view sufficient for customers´ needs. However online shopping offers the widest choice of organic fruit and vegetables. On the contrary supermarkets Lidl and Penny do not offer any organic fruit or vegetables.
