Using of RP techniques and lost wax technology for medical castings
Pavelka, Tomáš ; Joch, Antonín (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The goal of the diploma thesis is to verify the possibilities of obtaining the casting of the femur component of the customized knee replacement using the technology of Rapid Prototyping and investment casting. To get the wax pattern it is used the method of fabrication the silicon rubber mould. Its optimalization from the wax pattern quality, economy of production and cooling speed aspects is important parameter at repeated production of the wax patterns.
RP technology using FDM method and investment casting technology
Kosour, Vojtěch ; Krutiš, Vladimír (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
An overview of the development of the Investment Casting market and Rapid Prototyping equipment is given in the introductory part of this diploma thesis. Basic methods of rapid prototyping and the FDM method are futher described in detail. The FDM method is consequently used in the practical part of this work for the preparation of the silicon mould. The largest part deals with the issue of the simulation of pouring process of wax into the silicon mould. A characteristics of the casting wax is made; the parametres, which are inserted into the simulation software ProCAST and the possibilities of their measurement are described. The process of the simulation of the mould filling and its validation with the real filling process are described in detail.
New ways in manufacturing and construction of mould for wax casting
Dostál, Pavel ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this work is to compare technology of silicon and aluminium moulds used to make castings using technology of cire perdue with single – piece work. The work itself deals with physical production of silicon mould in vacuum casting system, shaping aluminium mould using CNC machine and subsequent casting of wax models into these moulds. It also handles with physical production of one piece by shaping. It contains background research of the method lost wax casting manufacturing aluminium and silicon moulds and last but not least of Rapid Prototyping technology for producing master model.
Application of modern technologies for manufacturing models of hedgehog in the cage puzzle
Dratva, Jakub ; Jaroš, Aleš (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The objective of the bachelor thesis is the designing and manufacturing of so called a hedgehog in the cage puzzle model. Individual moulds and dimensions of puzzle were designed in the 3D parametric software Autodesk Inventor. The puzzle model was manufactured by Fused Deposition Modeling method using 3D printer uPrint. The part of the project was manufacturing the silicone mould that will be used to cast the required number of the cage made of commercially available material (plastic). The work was finished with technical and economic evaluation with the subsequent analysis and overall assessment of applied technology.
The Design and the Possible Practical Application of a Cooking Pot Handle 3D Model
Bezděk, Adam ; Jaroš, Aleš (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The target of this bachelor thesis is designing and producing of a 3D model cooking pot handle with use of the modern 3D printing technologies. The virtual model of the cooking pot handle was produced with parametric program Autodesk Inventor and then printed by the Dimension uPrint 3D printer, which uses the Fused Deposition Modeling additive technology. The silicone mold was produced by using the printed master model. Then the model was molded from the two component plastic material into the silicone mold. Conclusion of this work contains technical-economic evaluation, where are both methods of producing the model compared.
Application of Rapid prototyping for production of historical models of assault force vehicles
Malý, Ondřej ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Dvořáček, Jan (advisor)
The paper deals with the production and subsequent evaluation of produced historical trolleys Steyr K2670 models at a scale of 1:120. For manufacturing of the product was used rapid prototyping technology, which creates objects based on the virtual designs. In order to compare, the prototype model was built on different machines, using different methods of making bodies. Based on the final product was produced 3D printing silicone mould, into which was casted the modeller resin in the vacuum chamber. The conclusion is that for objects with very fine detail, it is suitable to choose a machine with high accuracy, working with thin layers of material. The prototype needs to be shaped before creating mould because silicone mould transmits most of the details, such as the texture of the surface layer structure.
Application of modern methods for production of mobile phone storage stand
Tesař, Jaroslav ; Nejedlý, Jindřich (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The thesis was made as a bachelor’s project on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology. In the theoretical part methods of Reverse Engineering were described. The principle of the following technology, the Rapid Prototyping, was also explained and the summary of advantages and disadvantages and use in technical practice for the most important methods was made. In the experimental part of the thesis the modern methods were applied for manufacturing a cell phone holder. By this the possibility of these technologies to work with complexly shaped models was verified. The casting to a silicon form was used as the alternative method of manufacturing. The summary of possibilities of manufacturing with these technologies and technical and economical evaluation were made in the end of the thesis.
Application of modern technologies for the production of the release mechanism of a car door
Hruška, Lukáš ; Dvořáček, Jan (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The Bachelor`s work concerns the production of door ulocking mechanism for a passanger car Renault Megane. From the viewpoint of function and the necessity to keep the exact dimensions of chosen parts were the data for the production obtained by digitalization of a real product. The digitalization was carried out by the contactless optical 3D scanner of GOM mbH company, specifically the developmental series ATOS II Triple Scan. The pin`s data were obtained from parametrical program Autodesk Inventor 2011. For the production of Master models the additive technology Rapid Prototyping, method Fused Deposition Modeling, was used. Master model of the handle was used for the production od solicon mould, that was used for casting of required number of handles from resin. The end of the work deals with a technical and economical assessment of the production. A part of the work is also a summary of the most used methods of Rapid Prototyping and Reversible Engineering.
Utilization of the modern method for a production of the prototype of the hair dryer handle
Vrána, Radek ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
Aim of this bachelor work is to design and produce two-part universal holder of ETA hair dryers. Holder is designed in 3D CAD system Autodesk Inventor and is produced by Rapid Prototyping technology using Fused Deposition method. From existing Fused Deposition Modeling prototype of bigger visual part is made silicon mold and cast from resin. There is evaluation of both methods considering technical-economical aspects in the end of my work. Process of design and production using both methods is documented and described. My work includes history of ETA, a.s. company, characteristics of Fused Deposition Modeling method and technology of casting to silicon mold. Prototypes will be used for further development of holders for ETA´s hair dryers.
Manufacture of a prototype component by rapid prototyping method
Křupka, Marek ; Stachovec, Ivo (referee) ; Kosour, Vojtěch (advisor)
This thesis describes the production of a prototype component of the bicycle crank with FDM Rapid Prototyping method. Initially, production methods of this component, using different ways of Rapid Prototyping are summarized. The main part of the thesis focuses on the production process from the initial design to the final wax model, which can be used to manufacture metal components. The conclusion compares the component production using standard technology with the one using Rapid Prototyping.
