Prevention of accidents at preschool age
PETR, Petr
Every year, more than 300 000 accidents of children occur requiring medical treatment or hospitalization in a hospital. Around 300 children die as a result of an accident every year. In comparison with other European countries, the Czech Republic occupies one of the worst positions as to frequency of accidents of preschool children. The objective of this thesis is to identify existence, quantity and scope of preventive activities in facilities designed for preschool children within the district of České Budějovice. The subject includes confirmation or rejection of a hypothesis whether there is a relation between the size of the town or municipality, frequency and scope of preventive activities. To verify the stated hypothesis, interviews were held in which the pedagogical staff of preschool facilities were asked questions concerning prevention of accidents in their facilities. Assessment of the interviews results did not confirm the hypothesis of an existing relation between the size of the town or municipality, the frequency and scope of preventive activities. In all visited facilities, preventive activities are carried out, focused on prevention of all forms of accidents. Preschool facilities directly in České Budějovice can visit preventive events organized by units of the Integrated Emergency System with less difficulties than facilities in the country thanks to better accessibility by the public transport. In spite of the mentioned difficulties, most of upcountry facilities participate in those events in close cooperation with the local Police or voluntary fire department. Some preschool facilities have their specific focus and programmes compared to the usual standard. In some of them they deal with drugs and tobacco prevention, other facilities are visited by students of PF JU with their programmes focused on prevention, still others present children thematically focused stories on CDs and DVDs. Other facilities, for example, organize a children{\crq}s day related with prevention in road traffic or organize a visit of ZOO joined with a lecture on how to treat animals. We can see as a certain gap in preventive programmes an absence of the central methodology for their organizing. Suggestion and recommendation for improvement of the situation could include completion of central methodology for prevention for preschool children which would include in its content and provide individual circuits and specializations on specific dangerous situations a child can get in. Another proposal for solution of the situation could be provision of preschool facilities with materials and aids for presentation of preventive education organized mostly in the form of games.

Kádner, Filip ; Šťovíčková Jantulová, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Deverová, Lenka (referee)
Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on social services and bureaucratization of the activities of NGOs This thesis deals with the Social Services Act (No. 108/2006 Coll.) in the context of the bureaucratization of the activities of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that are providers of social services. The first order of business is to answer the question whether the law contains elements of the bureaucracy, which the law establishes in the activities of social services providers. A second related objective is to determine whether NGO consider the elements of bureaucracy contained in the Act on Social Services as the main obstacles for the way they operate and whether in connection with their introduction observe within their organization typical dysfunctions associated with the process of bureaucratization. Theoretical background and set of research tools are based on R.H. Hall's research in the field of dimensional analysis of elements present in the structure of bureaucratic organizations. As a research method to achieve the first objective is used quantitative content analysis. The results of the analysis confirm that the Social Services Act contains elements that bureaucratise activities of social services providers. As a research method to achieve the second objective of the thesis is a quantitative...

KADLECOVÁ, Hana
The work deals with changes in the ways of burial in the Czech Republic in the last decades. It has two parts - practical and theoretical. The theoretical part summarizes the evolution in the sphere of burial since the First Republic to the present days (this part contains interviews with witnesses). It leads to the conclusion, any changes have happened, mainly in the attitudes towards burial rituals. Two basic ways of burial (into the ground, cremation) have changed only a little. The new matter are burials without ceremony. The practical part contains questionnaire research. Respondents (priests, deacons and employees of the undertaker's and crematories) made answers about changes in attitudes towards death and burial in the last years. At the end of the work the results of the theoretical part are confronted with the results of the questionnaire research. Both parts of the work (the theoretical as well as the practical) confirm the main changes in a sphere of burial are in attitudes of people. Respondents crittically refer to state of contemporary morale, a decline of respect to the deceased and taboo of the death.

BUDNIKOVOVÁ, Eva
Abstract Ensuring of Respite Care Services in the Česká Lípa Region after Releasing of Patients from Hospital The goal of this thesis is to map the scope, the quality and further relationships of respite care in the Česká Lípa region in case of patients released from hospitals for whom a respite care is indicated, to find shortcomings of the systém and to propose optimal solutions of problems. There were two hypotheses set: H1: Sufficient respite care services are not provided to clients at weekends, H2: Consecutive respite care is not duly indicated by physicians to all clients released from hospitals who need it. The theoretical part of the thesis describes characteristics of respite care, its meaning and the process of ins development. The research was carried out trough the questioning method, using questionnaires and anasysis of documents. The other part of the thesis presents the results of performed quantitative research. These results were acquired by means of evaluation of questionnaires. The anasysis of acquired data confirmed both the supposed hypotheses. The discussion elucidates some problems related to the given theme and the conclusion of the thesis recommends some measures to improve the quality and continuity of providing the respite care services in the Česká Lípa region. The results of the thesis may inspire the existing as well as newly established respite care agencies to increase the quality of respite care.

Vokolek, Aleš ; Plechanovová, Běla (advisor) ; Kučerová, Irah (referee)
Master Thesis called Are the development aid and democracy inseparable? aims to find out what impact does development aid have on democracy. The development aid is divided into four groups. Hypotheses are tested on data of 48 of countries from Sub-Saharan Africa in the period starting from the end of the Cold War and ending in 2009. In order to achieve its aim, the study uses regression model of ordinary least squares in combination with moving averages, when in position of dependent variable stands either value of democracy according to Polity IV Project or value of democracy evaluated by Freedom House. In first two chapters is presented theoretical concept of this study, on which this study is based on. In third chapter dependent and independent variables are analyzed including their descriptive characteristics. In the fourth and the fifth chapter the basic model is introduced, estimated results are analyzed and in following sixth chapter the model and results are tested. The estimated results of both models confirm the hypothesis about positive influence of human capital development aid on democracy. On the contrary, both models disprove the hypothesis about positive relationship of institutional aid with democracy and they both find negative influence of institutional development aid on...

Issues of postponement of school attendance in the town of Kladno
Fürstová, Jana ; Kropáčková, Jana (advisor) ; Stará, Jana (referee)
The thesis is mapping the region of Kladno in period of 4 years and is pointing to an increase of school suspension in 2011by about six percent, compared to the average in previous three years. With help of used research methods, interviews and data analysis, we have confirmed and determined a hypothesis, that the most weakened components of children's personalities in Kladno are connected to social maturity, which pointed out self- sufficiency problems and problems with making contacts with peers. At the field of mental maturity we detected speech defects and inability to focus on classwork. Also we concluded that school suspension is more frequently granted to boys. This is pointed out in the theory of Langmeier, J., Krejčířová, D. 2006 and ÚIV. However, the month of birth, which also determines accession to the school, is important. At the end of our thesis, which contains general summary, we highlighted the uncertain areas and we suggested other possible topics, which needs to be further investigated.

Confirmation of presence of chemical grouts in grouted rocks - proving methods
Ščučka, Jiří ; Vaculíková, Lenka
The confirmation of a presence of chemical grouts in the pore system of fine-grained soils or in the fine cracks of grouted rocks and engineering constructions is a common requirement in the laboratory analyses of geocomposite material (polyurethane resin+rock/soil, polyurethane resin+building material). The combination of two analytical methods can be used for the reliable detection of the injection medium in the grouted rock environment: optical fluorescence microscopy+digital image processing, - Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy of the powdered rock/soil sample.

Kyzivát, Jan ; Prorok, Vladimír (advisor) ; Cibulková, Petra (referee)
The aim of this thesis was the proclamation of independency of Kosovo in 2008 and the Russia -- Georgian conflict in the South Osetia in the same year. The goal is to impugn the understanding of the Kosovo as precedent case to which refered Russia while asserting its interest and confirming the independency of South Osetia and Abkhazia. After the historical intruduction of the self-determination of nations there are defined key words connected with this topic which are consequently applied to the practical part -- the development of Kosovo and secessionist regions in Georgia. The conclusion is stated with reference to the law arguments and the activity of Russia in Georgia.
