Rodionov, Viktor ; Pavlík, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Tomeš, Jiří (referee)
Geopolitical role and population development of the Republic of Kazakhstan: recent developments and prospects V. Rodionov Abstract Present research is an attempt to define the influence of the demographic factor on geopolitical development of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is of a specific interest herein due to its strategically important geographical location and presence of natural resources. Taking into account these factors, Kazakhstan has certain claims on leadership in the region. At the moment, Kazakhstani geopolitical leadership is based on economic achievements of the country and its political stability. At the same time demographic factor is quite sensitive from the strategic point of view. Kazakhstani population is relatively inconsiderable in number for its region. Moreover, some negative tendencies of distribution of population and its structural changes are causing concern. The government is aware of the gravity of these problems and is making certain efforts to change the situation. Nevertheless, it is very important to acknowledge the demographic factor as strategically important.

"Kebab Norwegian". A language phenomenon in today's multicultural youth society in Norway
Benýšková, Helena ; Svevad, Thor (referee) ; Vrbová, Jaroslava (advisor)
In many Western European countries we observe a specific language phenomenon: the native language is mixed with loans from the languages spoken by the immigrants, eventually containing simplified pronounciation, grammar and syntax. In Norway, this language variety, usually called kebabnorsk (Kebab Norwegian), contains words and phrases that originally come from Arabic, Berber, Punjabi and other exotic languages. It's used mostly by young people living in Eastern parts of Oslo - in these areas the population contains a relatively high percentage of the immigrants. This thesis is based both on sociolinguistics theories, former researches and author's own research and presents the phenomenon both from the linguistic and sociological point of view.

Shape dynamics of silicate structures in experimental populations of chrysophytes (Synurophyceae)
Pichrtová, Martina ; Němcová, Yvonne (advisor) ; Elster, Josef (referee)
The aim of the proposed diploma thesis was to analyze temperature and pH related shape variation in synurophyte silica scales. Four species were investigated - Synura petersenii, S. echinulata, S. sphagnicola and Mallomonas tonsurata. The strains were cultivated in 5 different temperature levels. Moreover, S. petersenii and M. tonsurata were grown in 4 (resp. 5) different pH levels, too. The shape dynamics of the scales was investigated with application of landmark based geometric morphometric methods. The relative warps analysis described the overall shape and the main trends in morphological variation were depicted as deformation grids. The effects of both cultivation temperature and pH on the scale shape were significant, although only a small proportion of the overall variation was explained by the particular regression models. Moreover, the scale size of the investigated species decreased with increasing temperature (with the exception of Synura echinulata). These results are in agreement with the Atkinson's temperature rule which was formulated for the body size of ectotherms. The relationship between the size and pH was not explicit - the size of the scales decreased with increasing pH in S. petersenii, but increased in M. tonsurata. Furthermore, the scale shape was also found to be related to the...

Cleft patient and oral health
Hanáčková, Jitka ; Gojišová, Eva (advisor)
Inborn defects also include cleft palate and lip. They occur relatively often. In Czech Republic 1 out of 520 born children will suffer from certain type of cleft disorder. They are due to internal and external causes and their combinations. The exact cause of these defects is still unknown. They are probably due to increased susceptibility (genetical predisposition} to various factors resposible for the cleft defects. Nowadays, with high specialties in medical field, plastic surgeon cannot alone succesfully treat defect, which affects so many organs and functions. It is needed to have a coorporation with specialists from other medical fields such as pediatrician, phoniatric specialist, speech therapist, stomatologist, ortodentist, genetic counseler and psychologist. Plastic surgeon carries out series of operations to close the defect, corrects deformities in surrounding tissue and can in coorporation with odontonist help to correct jaw deformities in adulthood. THIS GROUP OF PATIENTS needs more frequent check-ups and more vigorous care from stomatologists than healthy population- at least once in two months. Than the state of each tooth, their erruption and condition of the soft tissue is examined. Number of children with this condition is not small. Due to communication betwen nasal and oral cavity,...

Klíčová slova sudetští Němci, "divoký odsun", organizovaný odsun, druhá světová válka, menšina Summary This bachelor thesis called Sudeten Germans after the expulsion from Czechoslovakia on the background of attitudes towards minorities of biblical Israel is, is focused on the Sudeten Germans who were displaced. Prohibition vs. decriminalization - two different approaches to the drug abuse problem
Tomány, Lubomír ; Šťastný, Daniel (advisor) ; Hudík, Marek (referee)
The main subject of this study is a comparation of two different policies which are used to cope with the drug abuse problem - prohibition and decriminalization. Example is set on the U.S. and the Netherlands. First, each policy is described in detail. Subsequently, both policies are compared according to criteria of the drug use prevalence and the direct costs related with them. The Netherlands, which applies decriminalization, has maintained lower drug use prevalence than the U.S for long time and in almost all kinds of drugs and age groups. Moreover, Netherlands it achieves at the same or lower relative costs. Yet, the higher drug use prevalence does not prove ineffectiveness of policy prohibition. It seems that the U.S. is more likely to have higher prevalence due to more general tendency of using drugs in population. The study also shows that the decriminalization can be linked to increase of drug use that followed its introduction in Netherlands.

Media education in terms of language learning using the example of teaching French
Krausová, Alena ; Fenclová, Marie (advisor) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee) ; Sládková, Miroslava (referee)
The aim o f the thesis is to elaborate the methods o f education o f future teachers in the field o f reception and analysis o f media texts (especially o f the printed media). Even if the school subject media education in the Czech republic has been newly introduced (as well as frequently discussed), the present topic did not find a due place in the curricula at the faculties o f education (preparing the teachers for secondary schools, in particular for grammar schools). The media education may be considered either as a particular school subject or as a component o f relative school subjects, e. g. o f mother or foreign language teaching, civics, history etc. Its contents includes a large scale o f topics - media institutions, functioning o f media channels and media market, critical reading o f media texts, analysis o f the forms o f media manipulation and stereotypes, publicity etc. It is mostly this interdisciplinary approach which situates the media education within the wider picture o f a rather complex study o f language acquisition.
