The modern world is the world of constant changes and uncertainties. In such a world, those will win who will learn how to make use not only of opportunities on the market, but many times also the threats that uncertainty may bring along. The main aim was the analysis of the finance and insurance situation of the firm entering the international market. The other aim was the analysis of insurance and finance market and the concept of the best possibility for the firm. The result of this analytic part was the prediction, that the firm is able to enter the international market with direct business method, but first of all there is necessary to introduce it{\crq}s production, prices and the whole firm on the websites. During the analysis the firm has to specify it{\crq}s strategy and aims, makes calculations and decides of which insurance will be siutable for it. The next step was the decision of using the export financing, If it decides to finance the export, it{\crq}s necessary to chooze, if it will use the financing by private or state grant. For the firm the using of exports buyer or supplier credit will be two acceptably methods. The credit insurance by the state or private institutions is the other step to enter the international market. There are various kinds of other insurance (e.g. cargo, casco insuranc or the payment risk insurance).

The Impact of Taxation of Dividends and Capital Gains on Return on Shares and Share Price Behavior in Germany
Kraus, Pavel ; Marek, Petr (advisor) ; Kodera, Jan (referee) ; Hrdý, Milan (referee)
The impact of taxation on total return on shares and share price behavior around ex-dividend day is an ongoing problem in the field of Corporate Finance. Several groups of theoretical approaches have evolved since 1950s. Proponents of tax impact argue that share prices decline around ex-dividend day. The extent of decline is also a subject of academic discussions. Moreover, they also claim that shares with higher dividend yield must amount to higher total return on shares before tax in order to keep the total return on shares after tax equal for all kinds of shares. On the contrary, proponents of signalling effect insist on rising share prices around ex-dividend day. This dissertation is mainly aimed at empirical evaluation of the most significant findings mentioned above; based on tests of statistical hypothesis and regression and correlation analysis. The empirical study uses relevant data of German Stock Exchange in Frankfurt upon Main from 2001 till 2009. Additionally, the changes in taxation of dividends and capital gains in 2001 and 2008 are thoroughly explained and analysed with regard to return on shares and share price behavior. The dissertation is divided into 3 main parts including an analysis of current findings, explanation of main elements of tax reforms in 2001 and 2009 and, finally, an empirical analysis. The analysis of current findings includes a review of significant research on share price behavior around ex-dividend day, signalling effect and relationship between dividend yield and total return on shares before and after tax. Moreover, the verified hypotheses in this dissertation were deduced from revailing conclusions of the review. The explanation of main elements of tax reforms in 2001 and 2008 is focused on description of changes in taxation of dividends and capital gains. In 2001, the full imputation method eliminating double axation of dividends was removed and replaced by half-income method taxing only a half of dividend. In 2008, the half-income method was replaced by withholding tax; under defined circumstances by the 60%-income method taxing 60% of dividends. In an empirical analysis, the hypothesis about decline of share price around ex-dividend day and the hypothesis about decline of share price equal to dividend after tax were tested. Additionally, existence of positive relationship between total return on shares before tax and dividend yield and existence of no significant relationship between total return on shares after tax and dividend yield were verified. The decline of share prices was proved in every year. The existence of positive relationship between total return on shares before tax and dividend yield was confirmed in every year except 2006 and 2008.

Three Essays on Local Public Finanace Lenka Šťastná Abstract The dissertation studies spending decisions of local governments. It consists of three parts; theoretical model is developed in the first part and empirical analyses of Czech municipalities of extended scope are presented in the other two parts. The theoretical model analyzes whether it is beneficial to decentralize policy decision-making when local public goods in two symmetric regions are complements. Strategic delegation when a voter intentionally votes for a politician whose preferences do not coincide with those of the voter and in-kind transfers, used to support local public goods production in the other region, are allowed. According to Oates' decentralization theorem, centralization pareto-dominates decentralization for symmetric regions regardless level of spillovers. However, for complementary public goods and when strategic delegation and in-kind transfers are considered, the tradeoff may be exactly opposite and decentralization may pareto-dominate centralization. The second part aims to test fiscal interaction among local governments in the Czech Republic which can be driven by spillover effects, competition, mimicking, or cooperation. Spatial dependence of local public spending (i.e. whether spending decisions in neighboring...

Vaňková, Jana ; Slavíková, Lenka (advisor) ; Šauer, Petr (referee)
Public expenditures are a very important part of public finance. These expenditures are one kind of state interventions. In long term we can observe an increasing trend of public expenditures. Very often, these expenditures are spended inefficiently and uneconomically. To be spend efficiently and economically, it should be obvious to evaluate their effectiveness. But the current situation of this problem in the Czech Republic is not ideal and usually effectiveness is not evaluated. Absence of this evaluation is a big problem of system of public finance. This thesis solves the problem of evaluating effectiveness of the public expenditure programs on the real program, called "Flood prevention". This program is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and itś main aim is to increase the protection against flood in the Czech Republic. The first phase of this program was realized in the years 2002-2007 (the second phase has been realized in the years 2007-2012). This thesis is devoted to the first phase and the main aim is to evaluate this program with an available method. One hypothesis was set: That the program "Flood prevention" was effective and all the targets were realized. In this work I tried to find, if this hypothesis is true or fals.
