Financial crisis impacts on the chosen EU states
Radová, Jana ; Melcher, Ota (advisor) ; Čajka, Radek (referee)
Bachelor's thesis Financial crisis impacts on the chosen EU states analyses the impact of the financial crisis on two particular EU member states, Ireland and Portugal. Even though the root causes were different, both cases experienced similarly devastating effects that made them ask for international financial assistance. Thorough analysis of the anti-crisis governmental policies in the context of chosen macroeconomic indicators will then reveal the level of their effectiveness. Final comparative analysis of the key factors between the two countries will not only show the inadequacies in the economic behavior of these two states in the last decades and the current state of the economies, but will also enable to draw some conclusions on the future evolution of these economies as such.

Second part deals with tax competition and harmonization, the topic is looked at from both practical and theoretical points of view. There is a description of the established laws, those aiming at tax harmonization. The theoretical part deals with positive and negative approaches to these particular points at issue. The current tax situation in Europe is depicted in this part showing tax laws both those already coordinated and those that are in the process of stagnation. The third part is analysis of tax policy impact on the economic growth, economic standard and employment figures. Taken into account are various approaches to taxation and their impact on macroeconomics indicators.

Comparison of diagnostic yield of different MRI protocols and PET in relation to time an finance demands in patients with temporal epilepsy
FILÍPKOVÁ, Brigita
This Thesis called Comparison of diagnostic yield of different MRI protocols and PET in relation to time and finance demands in patients with temporal epilepsy deals with time and economic aspects of diagnostics of pharmacoresistant temporal epilepsies. Temporal epilepsies are the most frequent focal epilepsies (up to 85 %) and pharmacologic control is only successful in about 25 % cases. On the other hand it is the best type of epilepsy to be solved surgically. Timely and precise diagnostics enables a timely surgical intervention. The time and economic demands increase the same way as the demands for technical staff. The Thesis was aimed at finding a protocol advantageous in terms of both, time and cost saving, maintaining the diagnostic yield in comparison of two neuroimaging methods - functional (PET) and morphological (MR), where we also compared two protocols for brain examination - a standard one and a special epileptological one. Methodology: A retrospective study of 44 patients with clinically confirmed focal epilepsy examined by MR and PET, who underwent a microsurgical intervention and have been without fits since then. We compared the individual protocols on MR - standard (sequence T2/PD tse tra, FLAIR tra, T2* tra and T1 se sag) and epileptological (extended by 3DT1 ge, T2 tse fs cor and FLAIR cor) in terms of possible diagnostics (examination read by an experienced radiologist) and evaluated their time and cost demands. We also evaluated a PET examination, which is performed by one protocol, the same way. The results demonstrate the difference in examination time and costs between the standard and the epileptological protocols on MR and between the MR and PET methods. There are also results of reading MR and PET images and their correlates presented there. We may conclude that the epileptological protocol on MR cannot be substituted by a standard protocol. Time may be saved by better organization of work or by suitable adjustment of parameters of the individual sequences maintaining sufficient MR image quality. We are also convinced that both the methods, MR and PET are important for safe diagnosis. Cost saving is impossible in pre-operation diagnostics.

Reasonable consumption against consumer life style
Reitmaierová, Lucie ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Lupač, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with the analysis of two opposing present-day life styles. The first one is so called reasonable consumption or voluntary simplicity, which is nowadays often realized in an environmental life style with the focus on its actual forms in a common life. The second one is a consumer life style. The work focuses on characteristics of influences which form these two contrasting attitudes and tries to reveal the biggest number of reasons why the consumer life style in rich and quickly developing societies wins while the environmental life style spreads very slowly and the voluntary simplicity is a marginal phenomenon regardless the well known warnings of experts about the critical state of the planet caused by the consumer life style. The thesis also outlines several possible solutions and changes in the whole society required to suppress the consumer life style with their supposed impacts. KEY WORDS: reasonable consumption, environmental life style, consumer life style

Measures for efficiency and eco-efficiency
Dzianová, Ivana ; Kopa, Miloš (referee) ; Lachout, Petr (advisor)
Comparison between the economic subjects on micro and macro economic levels by a unitary indicator is provided by measuring efficiency as an evaluation of the performance of subjects. For each economic subject technical, allocative, economic, scale efficiencies and eco-efficiency can be computed if all data required are available. This paper attends to examine a method based on linear programming - Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Two models for technical efficiency and their derivates to measure other efficiencies are presented and compared in detail - a simple DEA model and an additive DEA model. Finally, theoretical procedures are applied on the forest industry in between the counties of Czech Republic and comparison by measurements of efficiencies is provided.

Svobodová, Soňa ; Stejskalová, Irena (advisor) ; Sysel, Jaroslav (referee)
In the MANN+HUMMEL (CZ), ltd. the general methodology for calculating the cost as the basis for the formation of prices was applied. The MANN+HUMMEL is 100% owned by the German concern MANN+HUMMEL GmbH. The main business is the manufacture of filters for all types of vehicles, internal combustion engines, compressors and others. In this work the information on a calculating model made up for the firm was compared to the basic literature. Another interesting issue is the program used by the firm for the calculation output. Further more, the impact of the method of cost calculating on the firm management was analysed. Two different types of calculation on a certain type of a product were used to contrast their economic effectiveness. On the basis of the results some modifications in the organizational structure and cost model of the company have been made.

Hlaváček, Radim ; Dušek, Libor (advisor) ; Rod, Aleš (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the compulsory connection of the rights to hunt with the ownership of the hunting lands. The aim of this work is to divide and describe two kinds of hunting grounds according to the types of ownership of the hunting lands. There is also an economic analysis of revenues and expenses regarding hunting rights in these hunting grounds. It further analyses the impact of diminishing of the minimum area of the hunting grounds on the economy of hunting. It also tries to find out whether the diminishing would lead to hunting rights more interwoven with the ownership of the hunting lands. The conducted research confirmed the existence of two types of hunting grounds that differ by the kind of ownership and also revenues and expenses regarding hunting rights in these hunting lands. It was further found out that the diminishing of the minimum area of the hunting grounds would increase the bindingness of the hunting rights with the ownership of the hunting lands. The economic impact of the diminishing of the minimum area of the hunting ground couldn't be unequivocally determined.
