Metabolic syndrome versus civilisatin diseases
SOPROVÁ, Martina
In connection with developement of industrial production and with improving of living conditions the western civilisation has faced gradual increase of occurance of civilisation diseases including metabolical syndrome. The definition of the syndrom that is currently used in the Czech Republic is according to the Czech Institute of Metabolic Syndrome, which diagnozes the metabolical syndrome when more that three out of five risk factors are present- abdominal obesity, encreased level of HDL-cholesterole and decreased level of tricylglycerols, hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2 or insuline resistence. Two aims were stated to process the thesis: 1) Knowledge of nonmedical healthcare staff about metabolical syndrome and its relation to civilisation diseases and particular risk factors influencing its emergence and its referential values, in connection with C/P education during the treating process. 2) Finding out whether the knowledge of nonmedical healthcarestaff about treatment, prevention and occurance of metabolical syndrom depends on level of education of a nurse. The dates for the research part of the thesis were collected in quantitative research- the method of questionnaire-the respondent were the general nurses. The hypotheses were analyzed as follows: H1: Knowledge of civilisation diseases belonging to the Metabolic Syndrome group increases together with nonmedical healthcare workers education. H2: Knowledge of referential values of Metabolic Syndrome risk factors increases with higher education of the nonmedical healthcare workers. H3: Knowledge of referential values of Metabolic Syndrome risk factors increases with the lenght of experience of the nonmedical healthcare workers. H4: Choice of further treatment when finding out Metabolic Syndrome risk factors increases with the level of education nonmedical healthcare workers. All hypotheses were proven on basis of statistical verification (Pearson?s x2 test) and proven. The results of the theses have contributed to mapping of the knowledge of nonmedical healthcare staff about the term of metabolical syndrome. The data analysis shows that the nonmedical healthcare staff is not sufficiently aware of the term of metabolical syndrome. The data can be used for teaching nomedical healthcare staff about medical syndrome education, for extension of the Czech Institute of Metabolical Syndrome websites by the section for nonmedical healthcare staff and also for the Centre of Civilisation Diseases Prevention as basis for educational materials for nonmedical healthcare workers.

Non-destructive determination of nitrogen in biological and other materials by the photon activation analysis
Krausová, Ivana ; Mizera, Jiří ; Chvátil, David ; Krist, Pavel ; Řanda, Zdeněk ; Kučera, Jan ; Štursa, Jan
The study presents a procedure for assaying nitrogen in biologocial materials by means of instrumental photon activation analysis (IPAA). The determination has been based on counting of the non-specific 511 keV annihilation gamma rays of 13N, product of the photonuclear reaction 14N(γ, n)13N, which is a pure positron emitter. IPAA allowed determination of nitrogen down to 1 wt.%. in selected biological reference materials - NIST RM 8433 Corn Bran, 1547 Peach Leaves, 8414 Bovine Muscle, and 1577b Bovine Liver. The optimized procedure was applied also to assaying nitrogen in pulverized nanodiamond intended for medical purposes.

Platelets counting and substitution therapy
CHYTILOVÁ, Marcela
Thrombocytopenia can be simply defined as a blood platelet count of below 150 giga/l. With the routine measurement of platelet number by automated cell counters it is a relatively common finding. Before initiating further investigations it is important to confirm that a low platelet count is genuine by careful inspection. Either a small clot in the sample or platelet clumping can cause artefactual thrombocytopenia and lead to unnecessary intervention.

Comparison of Open Source relational database systems
Kováč, Ondřej ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Palovská, Helena (referee)
This thesis deals with the subject of Open Source relational database systems. Its goal is to provide an overview about these systems, analyze their position on market and compare them according to predefined comparative criteria, which are focused on specific general features and administration of database systems. The first part of the thesis provides necessary theoretical knowledge about database systems describes currently most widely used types of these systems and explains the term Open Source software. Next one is aimed on how are these systems used in companies information systems and how are they positioned on database market. Third part presents four most widespread Open Source relational database systems, states their development in time from their creation till nowadays and what licenses are they provided under. Following is a part dedicated to specification of comparative criteria, which is followed by the comparison of database systems in these criteria, always using one of three evaluation methods. In the last part of thesis the final review of gained knowledge and the results of the comparison are presented in summarized graphs. The thesis could be used as a unified information source for computer specialists in different job positions - IT Managers, database administrators or systems integrators - while choosing suitable Open Source relation database system for engineered or redesigned information system of a company.

Determination of enterprise value of company Primátor, a.s.
Nemasta, Lukáš ; Scholleová, Hana (advisor) ; Krause, Josef (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the valuation of the brewery Primátor as at the 1st January 2010. This company was sold to the company LIF, a.s. by the former owner, city of Náchod in the spring 2009 as a company with low rentability and with financial problems caused by inefficient projects of the city, which were realized by the brewery and which weren't connected with the core business of the company, with the brewing. The main purpose of this work is to find the value of brewery after one year production connected wholly with the brewing under the new owner without the financial burden of the city. The value will be compared with the price realized during the transaction of sale. The reason of the comparison is to evaluate the adequacy of this price payed for the brewery.

Optimalizace GC/MS metody stanovení silyl derivátů lignanů
BEDNÁŘ, Jan
The main goal of this work was optimization of GC-MS method for the analysis of lignans trimethylsilyl (TMSi-) derivatives of two model compounds hydroxymatairesinol(HMR) and enterolactone (ENTL). It included validation of GC-MS metod for TMSiHMR and TMSi-ENTL, comparison of chosen derivatization reagents and verification of time stability for TMSi-HMR. It was shown that TMSi-HMR and TMSi-ENTL provide a nonlinear calibration curve. Second order polynomial curve gave the best fitting and was used for method validation. N-Methyl-N-(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide activated I and II (Sigma Aldrcih) were selected as the best choice for simultaneous derivatization for HMR and ENTL mixture. Room temperature was confirmed to be appropriat for 3 days storage of TMSi-HMR. Also it was shown that storage at -80 °C preserve the lignan samples for at least 90 days storage.

Řízení devizové expozice podniku
KRÁSNICKÁ, Martina
The first part of this dissertation, entitled Exchange Rate Exposure Management, addressed the question whether there has been a relationship between changes in exchange rate volatility and financial results of Czech enterprises and therefore foreign exchange exposure management is justified. For this purpose, the empirical data of revenues and exports and imports in CZ-NACE sections were used. Statistically significant results were demonstrated in the Section C - Manufacturing, where it was confirmed that profitability of sales declines with increasing volatility of the exchange rate. The nominal exchange rate CZK/EUR was taken into consideration, while a recent thesis (Klecka, 2016) showed that the use of another type of the exchange rate does not provide a statistically significant difference. In the second part a simple model called Estart was created in order to quantify the maximum impact of unexpected exchange rate changes in the profitability of a company and thus in order to start with the management of the exchange rate exposure. The formula for calculating exchange rate exposure is simple and requires only a few inputs as company total revenues, total expenses, the percentage of revenues in foreign currency and the percentage of expenditure in foreign currency. In order to quantify the maximum impact recommended percentage variations dependent on the time horizon were determined from the historical data of the exchange rate CZK/EUR. The company then receives initial information about the maximum impact of unexpected exchange rate change on their profitability and hence for example the potential maximum amount that makes sense to invest in exchange rate hedging. The model is also suitable for calculating the maximum impact for the specific payables and receivables. The Model Estart is for its simplicity usable particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises, which currently begin to address the question of the impact of exchange rate change on their profitability for example because of announcements of Czech National Bank concerning the end of the intervention that has been depreciating domestic currency since 2013 and also the complicated situation in the Eurozone. The next necessary step is to use more sophisticated methods in accordance with the principles of foreign exchange rate exposure management in order to quantify the impact of unexpected changes in the exchange rate on the profitability, respectively on the value of the company, mainly because of the management of the operational exposure, which is crucial and which is not addressed by this simple model.
