Hel. The Old Norse underworld and its mistress
Ratajová, Kateřina ; Antalík, Dalibor (referee) ; Starý, Jiří (advisor)
The Old Norse realm of the dead and its mistress are both called Hel. This paper attempts to reconstruct the conception of Hel current in the period of recording the extant texts, because a search for the original form of it necessarily reduces the sources on the basis of the speculation about Christian influence. The method here used is an analysis of texts and occurences of the word hel with respect to genre and context. The scaldic and Eddic poems are considered the most valuable thanks to the conservation caused by metric rules. The chapters deal with terms, location of the underworld, conceptions connected to the voyage to Hel and the sojourn there, which are aspects of the Old Norse Hel - both as a locality and a person.

Selfmanagement of the kindergarden director.
NOVOTNÁ, Miroslava
Many burdens are laid on school managers in today{\crq}s fast age. Surely, it is impossible to avoid all burdens related to management of a school facility. Manager of kinder garden has to be skilled in various areas, not only the professional {--} educational. A school manager, as an employer, should have knowledge primarily in economy, wage accounting and, in many cases, law. School managers have to be familiar with basic law rules governing labour relationships and another laws and bylaws. They have to know how to resolve various operational and personal matters; effective communications skills between many others should not be omitted. In any case, school management is challenging job and one must admit that the fact that some school managers are not able to manage themselves is a serious insufficiency. Self-management is not considered by school managers as important discipline as others. They keep in mind their responsibility for organization. Self-management consists from multiple parts such as the principles related to controlling of working and personal time, i.e. time-management, self-examination, i.e. self-reflection, self-development, and self-assessment. It makes one of the theoretical parts of the thesis. The thesis is further focused on general meaning of the word management, time-management and does not leave out the phenomena of contemporary age such as stress, primarily in teachers` job. In practical part, the thesis describes situation of today{\crq}s managers, mainly in area of relaxation. A proposal of the relaxation programme, which could be used by many colleagues as guidance how to use relaxation techniques, is one of the most important parts of the thesis. The author based relaxation programme mainly on her own experiences.

Towards an Eco-inspired poetics of minimalist narrative
Kuzmičová, Anežka ; Pokorný, Martin (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
What is a minimalist narrative, and what are its characteristic features? How do you identify one? For many critics, minimalist writing is a strictly historical notion - even though they at the same time, like John Barth does in his famous apologetics "A Few Words About Minimalism", paradoxically enough stress its ubiquitous nature throughout literature of all times. By narrative minimalism the American critic generally means the austere style of the novels and short stories of Raymond Carver, Amy Hempel, Mary Robison, Joan Didion, Ann Beattie. An American literary current of the 1970s mainly, devoted merely to the quotidian, descriptive, often reduced to what can be perceived from the outside of a human character. Thereby: the "dirty realism" or "K-mart realism". These derogatory labels tell us that the literary reviewer and critic of today still formulates his terms and judgments out of a hierarchically ordered, traditional presupposition of what a narrative text is and should be, working with a virtual model of balance between "form" and "content". Translated into the language of classical narratology: story discourse.

Deposit insurance in the European Union
Holá, Veronika ; Hájek, Filip (referee) ; Jakubík, Petr (advisor)
This thesis examines deposit guarantee schemes in the member states of the European Union. Our aim is to describe the present situation and analyze deposit insurance schemes in the context of financial safety nets. We focus mainly on cross-boarder issues and differences in deposit insurance coverage (scope, coverage limits). The paper deals mainly with changes of the rules which were introduced at the end of year 2008, and concerns with the amended Directive on Deposit Guarantee Schemes. Empirical analysis concentrates on the impact of state guarantees on the deposit grow rate in individual states. In the final part, we discuss the consequences of recent development and possible future progress.

Mapping the Prague Dependency Treebank Annotation Scheme onto Robust Minimal Recursion Semantics
Jakob, Max ; Štěpánek, Jan (referee) ; Lopatková, Markéta (advisor)
This thesis investigates the correspondence between two semantic formalisms, namely the tectogrammatical layer of the Prague Dependency Treebank 2.0 (PDT) and Robust Minimal Recursion Semantics (RMRS). It is a rst attempt to relate the dependency based annotation scheme of PDT to a compositional semantics approach like RMRS. An iterative mapping algorithm that converts PDT trees into RMRS structures is developed that associates RMRSs to each node in the dependency tree. Therefore, composition rules are formulated and the complex relation between dependency in PDT and semantic heads in RMRS is analyzed in detail. It turns out that structure and dependencies, morphological categories and some coreferences can be preserved in the target structures. Furthermore, valency and free modi cations are distinguished using the valency dictionary of PDT as an additional resource. The evaluation result of 81% recall shows that systematically correct underspeci ed target structures can be obtained by a rule-based mapping approach, which is an indicator that RMRS is capable of representing Czech data. This nding is novel as Czech, with its free word order and rich morphology, is typologically di erent from language that used RMRS thus far.

A school analysis as a possible source of treebanks (?)
Konárová, Marie ; Vidová Hladká, Barbora (advisor) ; Zeman, Daniel (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explore the possibilities of using data from the school sentence analyses for tagging words in the language corpora. For testing of this hypothesis, a set of sentences has been selected from a common czech language textbook. Students of selected primary and secondary schools were asked to perform the syntactical analysis of these sentences. The data collection was carried out using a prototype sentence analysis editor Capek. The editor is still being developed, also based on feedback gained from the students and teachers who used it during the data collecting process. Several transformation rules for converting data from the school sentence analyses into the data structures used within the Prague Dependency corpus were developed. The accuracy of the conversion using the proposed rules was tested together with the accuracy of students' results.

Lexical gallicisms in the Russian language
Lednická, Xenie ; Žofková, Hana (advisor)
The main objectives of the work was to study the extralingvistic reasons for borrowing, extention and persistence of the French words in the Russian language, to create a dictionnary of french lexical borrowings taken on russian language system (available as supplement of the rigorosum thesis, volume two) and on the basis of comparison of the french words and their russian equivalents to generalize the rules of assimilation of french lexical borrowings into the Russian language from the different linguistic points of view - phonetic, graphic, morphological, semantic. KEYWORDS: Lexical borrowing, french borrowings, etymology, russain-french contacts, wordcreation changes, formative changes, semantic changes
