Ceramic altarpiece
KVAPILOVÁ, Petra
The dissertation contains both practical and theoretical part. I deal with history and conception of the church in which the altarpiece will be adjusted in theoretical part. Furthermore, I allude to all proprieties that are associated with person of Saint Prokop - his life, studies, education and miracles which got him to awareness of the public. I describe the Dalej cave near Prague where he lived in, I make reference to extanted re-lics and I am also engaged in a fate of St. Prokop{\crq}s remains. I am showing up the moti-vation resources, iconography of the Saint and I am describing the technologic procedu-re of work. I attach the most original proposals of altarpiece to the practical part and also the photographs produced during altarpiece creation. First of all I am separately solving zoomorphic character of devil in which I am searching the right expression and repre-sentation of evil. Next I am studying anatomically the statue of the Saint and I am trying to find a move in which I want to capture him to get the dynamic and thrilling scene. Finally I propose the disposition which has a diagonal character. I am making the potte-ry relief that is realized as a set of glazed tiles adjusted on wooden plate in the same size as the original altarpiece was. The last part of dissertaion contains the photomontage of positioning in the sacral space of the church.

Church in the housing estate
Samiec, Daniel ; Kiszka, Josef (referee) ; Štěpán, Marek (advisor)
The aim was to design a roman catholic church in the housing estate Brno-Nový Lískovec with a capacity of 200 seated and social center. Site for church is a rocky hill between high rise prefabricated houses, this hill is sloping from north, where main road and bus stop is located, to south and it drops by about 8 meters. Since this is a proposal in housing estate which lacks quality public space, creating public space was a priority. The proposal uses existing building on site for social center and adds new church building creating public church square. Public space is opening to the south towards view between houses on neighbouring hills. Main church space is arranged in semi-circular plan enclosed with circular presbytery. The main elevated space is enclosed by sacristy, adoration chapel, baptismal chapel and facilities. On the right side of the main entrance to the church is tower.

Church in the housing estate
Korčák, Jan ; Wahla, Ivan (referee) ; Štěpán, Marek (advisor)
The thesis proposal for a new building with the Roman Catholic Church Pastoral Center in New Liskovec estate in Brno. The proposal follows the tradition of religious buildings, uses the idea of the direction of space, its gradation and image paths for the good of man and love. Construction of the church refltects layering of the floors of the surrounding settlements, which passes through each floor verticaly from font to the roof garden which has its character of an atmosphere Gethsemane garden. The horizontal direction of the space reflects the way of a man in this world and symbolizes a labyrinth of the world, the path to salvation and redemption of the human soul. In this order follows vestibule, the nave and chancel topped with circular skylight. Floor of the nave consists of exposed rock massif which symbolizes clasp with the earth and also freely interpret the parable of the two builders from Matthew's Gospel. The only source of natural light in the nave is circular skylight above presbytery that creates a vertical flow of light and symbolically shows the way to the only God. Right in the horizontal direction of the intersection of human and divine is the sacrificial table on which occurs transsubstination during the Mass.

ZOO Park Dvůr Králové - Generel
Havlík, Darina ; Kokeš, Václav (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The proposal project is designing the development plan of the ZOO in Dvur Kralove nad Labem, as has designed a new exhibition of new lions, hyenas, birds of prey, the African desert and the object of refreshments for visitors. Architectural study addresses the design of objects - pavilions exposure for lions, hyenas, a pavilion with an aviary for birds of prey - bird world, the African pavilion terrarium desert and finally building with a cafe and toilets for the visitors of the ZOO. The proposed approach also runs the individual pavilions, then runs for the lions and hyenas and near runs in the African desert ungulates and seasonal runs. The proposed solution recognizes the zoo premises as a place for keeping large animal species composition, education of visitors, as the meeting place of rest and relaxation. The solution takes into account the complex relationships and interactions between exposures in a given area, not only in terms of architectural and aesthetic approach to the complex, but also in terms of operating and zoological. The zoo is a park with specific exposure to live with a balanced human rights - a visitor to one side and kept the animal on the other.  The proposed solution to the Zoo is sensitive to the surrounding landscape, the existing urban and architectural design and space requirements for any award.  From an operational point of view, the proposal accepted by all the requirements of the future. Areas and facilities for public service facilities, paddocks and animal quarters are each precisely defined and strictly separated geographically and operationally. Are the optimal conditions for the movement of animals between quarters and corral. The proposed solution is very rich in variety of areas, which in addition to the versatility of targeted animals, reflected in the richness of flora and fauna and thus contributing to environmentally high value sites. All spaces is a common need a sufficient level of daylight and direct sunlight. The entire area surrounding the exposure and access roads are designed to completely wheelchair accessible and accessible for persons with reduced mobility. The proposed solution to a sensitive development of existing space is achieved by a better, easier and easier availability. Term solutions proposed pavilions, yards and access roads is based on the themes of African villages. Small scale architectural and mutual spatial composition of individual materials of the new pavilions interconnected units reflects the typical mass breakdown of urban structures in the original locations of breeding species. Pavilions and animal quarters, and appropriately use the added space in the area of ??the zoo and complete the overall character of the place in the context of the current solution to urban zoo.

Diplomní projekt - Lázeňský park Luhačovice
Flekačová, Zuzana
This thesis " The Spa Park of Luhacovice" implies the conceptual design of solving alterations in the spa premises on the level of the architectural study. The Spa town of Luhačovice is undoubtedly the pearl of all Moravian spas due to its nature. Its unmistakable significance is determined mainly by the location, rich history and numerous mineral springs. The face of the spa area is well-preserved until today. One of the main objectives of the thesis is to improve the visual appearance of the area and further develop the potential of this place thereby the area becomes even more attractive and frequently visited. The theoretical part aims at the the general history of the spas, the green areas and its function, the characteristics and the historical development of the selected territory, especially the history of the spa composition development in the individual selected compositional units. The analytical part focuses on my own research in the field of which the results are processed into a large amount of digital base maps. Partial evaluations and basis for the design of the architectural study were consequently drawn from the resulting analyses which served as the base for the fundamental architectural concept. The studied area was due to its vastness divided into different compositional units which are dealt with individually. The concept is meant to resolve and/or remove all problems in the territory. The new design creates a contemporary space respecting all historical particulars and the spa characteristics, it is delicately incorporated into the recent condition and face of the spa park which will remain available for all visitors. The final design intends to compare through individual map segments made of the current condition map (as before) and the new design map (after) and therefore prove the suitability and above all the functionality of the proposed concept. There is clear evidence that the design of the spa complex is designed to fit into individual units, which do not fragment and together form one uniform area, which is in the largest scale interconnected by the promenade, alleys and flower beds along the river. The perspective views (visualization) verifying the rightness of the design are attached and they again show the recovery of the area and the introduction of the new mood in the territory.

Orthogonality in Banach spaces
Mašková, Alice ; Milota, Jaroslav (referee) ; Lukeš, Jaroslav (advisor)
In the present work we study properties of orthogonality in Hilbert spaces and possibilities of extending definition to more general type of spaces, Banach spaces. We concentrate mostly on Birkhoff-James orthogonality and investigate, which properties of Hilbert space orthogonality are still valid for Banach spaces, otherwise we provide counter-examples. As the orthogonality is generally not symmetric, we have to distinguish between right and left properties. We use Birkhoff-James orthogonality to characterize smooth and strictly convex Banach spaces. Then we study properties of Hilbert space orthogonal projection and its generalizations for Banach spaces. We study projections of norm equal one and minimal projections.

Options assessment of stereognostic hand function in children with hemiparetic form of child's cerebral palsy and in relatively healthy children
Hadravová, Vendula ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Novotná, Irena (referee)
Child's cerebral palsy is a neuro-developmental disease, its manifestation is not only a motor deficit, but also often a sensitive deficit. Nevertheless we often meet in the physiotherapy treatment of the Child's cerebral palsy with a solution of motor ability, sensitive deficit is often neglected. Failure of sensitivity to the individuals brings distorted perception of the surroundings and himself. The main component is just stereognosis, which does not inform us only about the properties of the stimuli, but helps us to navigate in the space and aware of the different parts of the body. Goal of the thesis: The goal is to work through several tests to assess the difference of the hand stereognostic function by a group of children with hemiparetic form of the Child's cerebral palsy and a relatively healthy group of children. Stereognosis of right and left hand is separately compared within each group in the results obtained. Both groups are comparing against each other. Another purpose of this work is to make a measurement of the time required to detect its own subject and in both of these groups of children. Equally important purpose is the assessment of usability of Petrie's test with pediatric patiens. Method of the solution: This work includes research, conducted in two groups of children aged between 7...

Lease and ownership of non-residential premises
Oberstein, Roman ; Salač, Josef (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jan (referee)
60 Lease and ownership of non-dwelling spaces The goal of this thesis is to give an overview of the existing legal regulations applicable to lease and ownership of non-dwelling spaces. Despite the fact that today's public debates are dominated by issues concerning residential spaces, I believe that this topic is vital and relevant. Many of us come across these legal regulations, especially as part of their business operations when they are in the position of a lessee of non- dwelling space. The thesis has four chapters, each addressing different aspects of this issue. The first chapter is introductory and defines basic terms used throughout the thesis. The key element is the term "non-dwelling space" that is defined by the law as a "room or a set of a rooms with a purpose different from dwelling, as decided by the competent Building Office". The second chapter focuses on the institute of non-dwelling space lease. It is divided into five sections, the first one giving a historical summary of developments in the legal regulations applicable to non-dwelling space lease. The remaining four sections concern the lease agreement (the required details and consequences of its ineffectiveness), rights and obligations of the lessor and lessee, alterations and other changes to the non-dwelling space, and last but not...

Imaginary Elsewhere: The "West" in Czechoslovakian society in the time of Perestroika
Andělová, Kristina ; Pullmann, Michal (advisor) ; Randák, Jan (referee)
In societies of state socialism the image of West was usually characterized by high degree of ambivalence. On the one hand the West was a space where negative social and politic phenomena could be displaced - as negative film should the official image of evil West full of social insecurity, criminality and poverty, reassured Czechoslovakian citizens of rightness of building socialism. On the other hand entirely opposite scenes were part of the public meaning- unconcealed admiration of fashion trends inspired by western mass culture (films, music). There was not only the fascination with consumer commodities of the western World, but also an admiration of lot of nonmaterial aspects (freedom of press, traveling, ecologic, feministic, pacifistic movements etc.). The West became gradually something mystical- it was at the same time "familiar and inaccessible, real and abstract, mundane and exotic". This ambivalence and inaccessibility was transforming the West in some mysterious and dreamlike place where instead of evil, the promise of happiness could be projected. Despite the official ideology and censoring attempts that limited the information about life behind the Iron Curtain, citizens in Czechoslovakia had an opportunity to create their own, quite clear image of West. At the same time I am trying to...
