Are the bees a Coasean lighthouse?
Hořánková, Kristýna ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Bolcha, Peter (referee)
The aim of this paper is to interpret the economical importance of keeping bees and to describe the externality they provide, as well as the externality formed by farmers. The issue will be introduced by outlining the solution to the reciprocal externality with the assistance of governmental intervention justified by A. C. Pigou and J. E. Meade. Secondly, It will be proved that Coase's Lighthouse Theory is the equivalent of Cheung's bees and that it is possible to remove the externality they create by the mechanism of the market. Furthermore, we will compare the development of governmental interventions in the Czech Republic and the US and prove -- by the pattern Muth and col. - the subsidies adversely affect the efficient elimination of the externalities struggled by the market. In the end, we will characterize pollination services in terms of the Czech market. The US market is much more extensive than the Czech market, but the latter seems to have the potential to remove the externality even in this particular situation.

Influence of compressing speed and time of constant load on the energy balance of tablets
Císařová, Daniela ; Řehula, Milan (advisor) ; Musilová, Marie (referee)
Císařová Dana - Rigorózní práce - 2006 This work deals with the influence of the compression rate and time of constant load on energy balance of tablets. Theoretical part characterizes microcrystalline celluloses, describes theory of tableting and theory of the force - displacement record. The aim of the work was to find out the influence cycle rate on the force Fmax , influence of the cycle rate and dwell time on parameters of energy balance, influence of the cycle rate on mechanical resistance of tablets. The determination was carried out with tablets of microcrystalline cellulose Avicel PH 200 using T1 - FRO 50 device. It follows from the results that the higher the cycles rate the higher values of parameters Emax and E1-3. Dwell time does not influence above-mentioned parameters. Radial strength des not change with the increase of cycle rate from 0.1 to 2 mm/s. Further increase in cycle rate brings about higher strength of tablets. Optimal cycle rate is 1 mm/s.

Party System Formation in Russia - a tendency to monocentrism
Gutsul, Yulia ; Prorok, Vladimír (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Vladimíra (referee) ; Iličeva, Ludmila (referee)
Research of process of forming of party system of Russia at the present stage acquires special relevance that is caused by changes of a political regime. Change of nature of a political regime, sharpening of personalistic, unicentric lines has caused search of a new format of party system which would minimize possibility of instability of a political regime and became the effective mechanism of maintenance of the status quo. Main goal of dissertation research is studying of forming of a tendency to a monotsentrichnost in development of party system of the modern Russian Federation. Hypotheses which have proved to be true have been formulated: forming of unicentric party system when using strategy of a party creation of the power and its positioning in political space I became reaction of political elite of Russia to a situation of democratic transit and manifestation of its pragmatical interests.

THE INVESTIGATION OF AN Al7075 ALLOY PREPARED BY SPARK PLASMA SINTERING OF MILLED POWDERS
Molnárová, O. ; Málek, P. ; Nemeth, G. ; Kozlík, J. ; Lukáč, František ; Chráska, Tomáš ; Cinert, Jakub
Atomized powder of an Al7075 alloy was high energy ball milled at room and cryogenic temperatures and compacted by spark plasma sintering (SPS) method. The influence of processing parameters on phase composition and microstructure was studied by X-ray diffraction, light and scanning electron microscopy. The mechanical properties were characterized by microhardness measurements. The atomized powder contained a large volume fraction of intermetallic phases located predominantly in continuous layers separating cells or dendrites in the interior of individual powder particles. Consolidation by SPS destroyed partially this morphology and replaced it by individual particles located at boundaries of original powder particles, at cell boundaries or arranged in chains in previous dendritic regions. High energy milling destroyed most intermetallic particles and enriched the matrix by solute atoms. The high deformation energy introduced into the powder during milling enhanced microhardness up to 220 HV. Consolidation of milled powders by SPS led to the formation of very fine-grained structure with the grain size even below 1 μm and with the fraction of high-angle boundaries about 0.9. Two main types of heterogeneously distributed precipitates were found. The irregularly shaped precipitates with a size about 1 μm seemed to encompass areas with rod like nano-precipitates in most samples. A drop in microhardness to 118HV was observed after SPS, predominantly due to a release of introduced deformation energy.

Domain conformations of the motor subunit of EcoR124I involved in ATPase activity and dsDNA translocation
BIALEVICH, Vitali
Bacterial type I restriction-modification systems are composed of three different subunits: one HsdS subunit is required for identification of target sequence and anchoring the enzyme complex on DNA; two HsdM subunits in the methyl-transferase complex serve for host genome modification accomplishing a protective function against self-degradation; two HsdR (or motor) subunits house ATP-dependent translocation and consequent cleavage of double stranded DNA activities. The crystal structure of the 120 kDa HsdR subunit of the Type I restriction-modification system EcoR124I in complex with ATP was recently reported. HsdR is organized into four approximately globular structural domains in a nearly square-planar arrangement: the N-terminal endonuclease domain, the RecA-like helicase domains 1 and 2 and the C-terminal helical domain. The near-planar arrangement of globular domains creates prominent grooves between each domain pair. The two helicase-like domains form a canonical helicase cleft in which double-stranded B-form DNA can be accommodated without steric clash. The helical domain, probably involved in complex assembly, exhibits only a few specific interactions with helicase 2 domain. Molecular mechanism of dsDNA translocation, cleavage and ATP hydrolysis has not been yet structurally investigated. Here we propose a translocation cycle of the restriction-modification system EcoR124I based on analysis of available crystal structures of superfamily 2 helicases, strutural modeling and complementary biochemical characterization of mutations introduced in sites potentially inportant for translocation in the HsdR motor subunit. Also a role of the extended region of the helicase motif III in ATPase activity of EcoR124I was probed.

Characterization of Turbulent Flow in a Breakup Cell.
Vejražka, Jiří ; Zedníková, Mária ; Stanovský, Petr
Our research focuses on breakup of bubbles and drops induced by a flow turbulence. In this contribution, we describe the experimental setup used for studying the breakup, and we characterize flow within it. The setup is a rectangular glass cell, in which a turbulent flow is generated by a set of coaxial nozzles. The flow within it is characterized by means of particle image velocimetry. From the velocity data, i) local dissipation rate (ε) is estimated using Large-Eddy PIV method, and ii) statistics of velocity difference in two points is evaluated. Estimation of ε is validated by integrating the total dissipation in the setup, which reasonably agrees with the injected kinetic energy. The probability density function of velocity difference is non-Gaussian and when properly normalized, it is universal within the setup.

Flow Parameters Simulation Technique in Annular Turbine Cascade INLET
Jelínek, T. ; Němec, M. ; Uruba, Václav
This article summarizes the concept of equipment which produces the required flow parameters at the inlet of annular turbine cascade. The investigation of inlet flow parameters - the boundary layer on hub and tip inlet channel end-walls and the inlet flow turbulence are part of a project intent on a flow in multistage steam turbine arrangement. This variable inlet can produce the laminar or turbulent boundary layer, respectively the laminar or fully turbulent velocity profile in the inlet channel. The change of inlet turbulence level is controlled by the grid. The detailed measurement of inlet flow: the turbulence and the total pressure distribution across the height of inlet channel were performed by HWA (hot wire anemometry) probe and by total pressure probe, respectively. The measurement results characterize the inlet flow for several inlet channel arrangements and are used for the experimental investigation of the flow field inside the stage and as the inlet parameters for CFD simulations.
