Destination Management of Cultural Tourism in Vysočina Region

This Master's Thesis focuses on destination management in Vysočina Region with the accent on cultural tourism aspect. It evaluates the potential of the region and its development by marketing tools and actions of the destination management company. The main method of this evaluation is a market research of the product portfolio in the tourism segment in Vysočina and my own experience from visits to the region. Based on these findings it is then summarized which products are the key ones, which of them are marginal, how it is worked with them, and which products are seen as important and preferential for the future of the destination. The thesis also looks at new forms of cultural tourism, such as diaspora tourism, religious tourism or culinary tourism in the region. Providing the readers with three case studies with SWOT analysis on Bystřicko region, event tourism (Vysočina Arena) and Hospodářský dvůr Bohuslavice it is then evaluated how beneficial their existence is.
The Labour market in Vysočina region

The Bachelor's Thesis is focused on the labour market in Vysočina region. The goal is to analyse labour market developments in the Vysočina region in years 2005-2013 and evaluate implementation of employment policy in the region. The theoretical part describes the labour market, unemployment and employment policy. In the practical part is first characterized the Vysočina region followed by comparison of the Vysočina region and the rest of Czech Republic in terms of unemployment. Labour market in the Vysočina region, the evolution of unemployment and the number of applicants per vacancy in parts of the region are analysed in following sections of the thesis. Final part of practical section is devoted to the particular implementation of active employment policy by the Labour Office of the Czech Republic in the Vysočina region and proposal solutions to improve the labour market situation. Final section of the thesis summarizes results of the analysis.
Social Services and Their Availability in the Vysočina Region

The aim of this diploma thesis is the mapping and analyzing of the availability of social services in the Vysočina region. Closer attention is given to the district of Havlíčkův Brod focusing on the evaluation of the scope, structure and availability of social services in this region. First the thesis presents the theoretical bases of the social system, in particular the historical development of the welfare state and its typology. After that follows a research focused on the comparison of the social systems in Czech Republic and Slovakia, France and Sweden. The last part deals with the characteristic of social services in Czech Republic, their financing and contemporary developments. The practical part focuses exclusively on the analysis of the availability of social services in the Vysočina region. Attention is paid to the capacity of services for defined population groups that are largely sufficient. To the disadvantaged groups belong drug addicts, homeless persons and people released from prison that are included in the group of people who are in a crisis. More detailed attention is given to the district of Havlíčkův Brod by evaluating the local as well as the capacitive and financial accessibility. The widest range of services is designed for seniors, disabled persons and people with an intellectual disability. Families with children, young people or other people in a crisis are struggling with poor access to social services. Most providers are concentrated in the former district town and other towns of the district catchment area. In some remote parts of the region, a sufficient supply of field and ambulatory services is not ensured.
Rural tourism in the Vysočina region - case study of Želiv and Kámen municipalities

In my thesis, I focused on rural tourism. Rural tourism is a type of tourism which take place in rural environment that offers lots of possibilities to stay. The goal of my thesis is a comparation of two chosen municipalities Želiv and Kámen in terms of rural tourism and its usage.

U těchto respondentů bylo zjišťováno, jak jsou spokojeni s různými aspekty svého života. Otázky byly zaměřeny na jejich zdraví, spokojenost s dostupností služeb, spokojenost s jejich společenskými vztahy a životním stylem.
Biology and invasive spreading of signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus) in the Vysočina Region

This thesis deals with the issue of non-native crayfish species in Europe, focusing mainly on the Czech Republic. The main species of interest was the signal crayfish. Its biology in relation to invasive spreading was evaluated. The most recent list of its known populations in the Czech Republic was compiled. These data were subsequently compared, updated and enriched with new locations based on this field monitoring. Its occurrence was evaluated largely in the Vysočina Region, in the area of Velké Meziříčí. As it turned out, the center of the signal crayfish occurrence in the Czech Republic is located really in the area of its original introduction thirty years ago in our country, in the vicinity of the Velké Meziříčí. During that time, signal crayfish have successfully expanded into the surroundings waters, both naturaly (downstream and upstream migration) and with human aid (with restocking fish, direct distribution by the public). It occupied all possible types of habitats, from running waters of the two major rivers Balinka and Oslava to their tributaries creeks of different size and character. It found suitable living conditions also in some ponds, particularly those less intensively farmed. Signal crayfish was recorded in areas, where noble crayfish Astacus astacus is still relativelly widely present, in some place even forming sympatric populations. The work was also focused on epibionts Branchiobdella sp., their presence or absence on caught crayfish. Their occurance was also recorded and evaluated.
Management of public services in the selected region

The aim of my work was to analyse the current supply and demand for public services in Vysočina region. The practical part includes an analysis of the public services and a draft of development of some municipalities which I have selected by myself. Various statistics, SWOT analysis and my own questionnaire survey were used to obtain the results.
Strategy of tourism development in the Vysočina region

Tourism is dynamically developing industry of its kind and an important economic factor in a whole world. It acquires an importance in the Czech republic and its regions, in Vysočina region as well. Vysočina region has got a great potential for tourism development but it has not been utilized enough so far. The goal of this dissertation thesis is to create an image of current state of tourism in Vysočina region, evaluate its prerequisites and possibilities that should be taken into account in the future. On the basis of medium-term documents and strategies created by the region and tourism organisation particular goals and mesures are introduced and subsequently evaluated. Thanks to findings from the SWOT analysis and strategies some solutions and projects are suggested at the conclusion of the thesis. They could help for further development. The dissertation thesis reports the view to current tourism issues of in Vysočina region.
The analysis of location factors for medium and large companies in the Vysocina Region

The work deals with the analysis of location factors for medium and large companies in the Vysocina Region. The main objective is to identify and categorize the location factors of medium and large companies in the Vysocina Region. A sub-goal is to identify and categorize the factors, which from the standpoint of the companies examined are missing in the region. In the theoretical part of the development of localization theory and location factors are defined and classified. Also includes a brief socio-economic characteristics of the Vysocina Region. The practical part is focused especially on the analysis of survey results. The data source was a survey conducted among companies which are based in the Vysocina Region, according to their total number of employees (50 and over). At the coclusion of the work are identified and tested new-found (tradition of manufacturing) location factors, which are then categorized into three groups. 1) Generally significant factors. 2) Factors relevant only for certain size categories or sector companies. 3) Minor factors. Factors, which from the standpoint of the companies examined are missing in the Vysocina Region, are also similarly categorized into three groups.
Analysis of investment environment in Vysocina region

The thesis is focused on finding out an innovative potential in Vysočina region. Theoretical part is concerned with the theory of competitiveness and innovation. The other part of thesis deals with the development of foreign direct investments, their forms and location factors on which the investor decides. The end of theoretical part summarizes the theory of brownfields and industrial zones. Whole theory is completed with nationwide statistics from all those areas. In the practical part of the thesis are carried out the analyses that aimed to evaluate the investment potential of Vysočina region. It is an analysis of the region in terms of transport and technical infrastructure, educational and demographic structure and analysis of industrial zones, brownfields, innovations and foreign direct investments in the Vysočina region. Finally the SWOT analysis is completed and the investment opportunities of the Vysočina region are evaluated.
