Kostelecká, Karolína ; Matula, Miloš (advisor) ; Pěkná, Jitka (referee)
This diploma thesis creates a general model of the Ombudsman Institution in Northern Europe and draws a comparison to the Public Defender of Rights in the Czech Republic. This thesis introduces a theoretical framework of this topic including definitions for control of public administration, ombudsman, classification of ombudsmen and historical evolution of this institution in selected countries. Based on the analysis of legislation in Sweden, Finland and Denmark, the general model of the ombudsman institution in Northern Europe is created. The comparison between this general model and the Public Defender of Rights Institution brings recommendations for Czech modifications. These recommendations include anchoring ombudsman institution in the Constitution of the Czech Republic, specifying education requirements of the ombudsman in the Public Defender of Rights Act, or increasing the number of ombudsmen, thereby dividing responsibility among several people specialized in certain areas.

Value of Statistical Life: Estimation for the Czech Republic
Přenosilová, Klára ; Dušek, Libor (advisor) ; Rod, Aleš (referee)
This work combines economics and law and shows how the results of economic estimations can be beneficial and useful for the legal practice. Concerning the economic theory, this work is based on the theory of compensating wage differentials, which originate in the labour market in order to compensate workers on riskier jobs for the higher probability of fatal and non fatal work related accident. On the basis of compensating wage differentials caused by the different level of work related risk in different industries, I estimated the value of statistical life in the Czech Republic. The estimated value of statistical life ranged between 86.2-96.8 million CZK. In the legal practice these estimations could be used as reference amounts when compensating for the non-pecuniary damage in case of bodily injury and killing.

Temperature and pressure correlation for volume of gas hydrates with crystal structures sI and sII.
Vinš, Václav ; Jäger, A. ; Hielscher, S. ; Span, R. ; Hrubý, Jan ; Breitkopf, C.
The temperature and pressure correlations for the volume of gas hydrates forming crystal structures sI and sII developed in previous study [Fluid Phase Equilib. 427 (2016) 268], focused on the modeling of pure gas hydrates relevant in CCS, were revised and modified for the modeling of mixed hydrates in this study. A universal reference state at temperature of 273.15 K and pressure of 1 Pa is used in the new correlation. Coefficients for the thermal expansion together with the reference lattice parameter were simultaneously correlated to both the temperature data and the pressure data for the lattice parameter. The new correlation is in good agreement with the experimental data over wide temperature and pressure ranges from 0 K to 293 K and from 0 to 2000 MPa, respectively. The new correlation provides significantly better agreement with the experimental data for sI hydrates compared to the original correlation. The results of both correlations are comparable in case of sII hydrates.

Analysis of the influence of minimum wage on unemployment and its development in the Czech republic and in the chosen countries of European union in 2000 - 2015

This thesis analyzes minimum wage, its development, determination and influence on increasing or decreasing of employment in the Czech rebublic and in the other countries of European union. It starts with determination of theoretical background of minimum wage, economical models that deals with the impact of minimum wage on employment and czech and foreign papers concerning relevant topic. In the last part of the thesis, econometrical model was done. The aim was to find out if any of determined variables have impact on total unemployment rate in the Czech republic. Model was performed with statistical data from 2000 to 2015. The impact of some variables was proved, for example number of university graduates that have negative influence on total employment in the Czech republic.
