Water consumption in selected subjects
Jedličková, Tereza ; Sucháček, Tomáš (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is to define the basic concepts related to the need and consumption of water. The following terms are explained: average daily water demand, maximum daily and maximum hourly water demand. The thesis also deals with water flow measurement. Among other things several types of flow meters are described here. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis, water consumption and water prices are analyzed in three selected agricultural cooperatives. There are compared individual agricultural cooperatives. Part of the thesis is also the determination of the average value of water consumption per cow.
Thermal Mass Flowmeter
Mlčoch, Albert ; Kunz, Jan (referee) ; Beneš, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of a mathematical model and practical implementation of a flowmeter based on the thermal principle. The range of the proposed flowmeter is from units of kilograms per hour to lower hundreds of kilograms per hour. The design of the flowmeter is non-invasive to the flow channel, the heating element is located outside the pipe. In this paper, the flowmeter parameters are identified and a temperature regulator is proposed. Measurements are made on a test bench. The results of the measurements are discussed. Modifications to the existing hardware are suggested.
Automated measurement system for ethene polymerization
Janošík, Zdeněk ; Richtera, Lukáš (referee) ; Přikryl, Radek (advisor)
Thanks to macromolecular chemistry development polymers become essential materials for wide range of applications. Research of catalytic systems used for production of polymers plays a key role in development of new polymer-based materials. The aim of this work was to develop system providing automated kinetic measurement of catalytic systems used in ethylene solution polymerization. The theoretical part of the thesis provides basic overview on chemical process taking part in ethylene polymerization and technical instruments used for its automation. Description of the devised system, its technical solutions and performed experiments used for verification its proper function are presented in the experimental part. Acquired data were compared with published results obtained with the same catalytic systems. Texts are accompanied by schemes, screenshots and photos.
Measurement and linearization unit for flow meters
Maštera, Martin ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Petyovský, Petr (advisor)
Linearization display unit will receive pulses from a gear flow meter KRACHT whose frequency corresponds to a flow. The measured value is flow that nonlinearly depends on the temperature and viscosity of the medium. The dependency is described by calibration curves for each flow meter. The task of the diploma thesis is to design, implement, and verify the operation of the display unit, which calculates the actual flow rate from the input data (pulse rate, temperature, viscosity, and flow meter calibration curves). The device will contain a suitable user interface to display all measured values, inputs for connecting measuring sensors, and outputs for transmission of measured data. A part of the device will be a USB interface for configuration and uploading calibration curves from a PC application, which is designed by diploma student.
The determination of minimal countercurrent distance of the water surface sensor from the thin-plate rectangular and trapezoidal notch weir
Hanychová, Anna ; Zubík, Pavel (referee) ; Žoužela, Michal (advisor)
This thesis is conderned to determination of the minimum distance in counter for the location of the sensor surface countercurrent in front of the measuring thin-plate. The aim was to do some measuring on free thin-plate- rectangular without contractions, rectangular with contractions and trapezoidal. The values were evaluated and attain results were compared with the results which were reported in the literature.
Flow measurement using the compound weir
Sedlák, Daniel ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Žoužela, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis is focused on issues of measurement significantly unstable by the flow rates with using of compound sharp crested weirs. The laboratory research determined three selected types of weirs. Laboratory research have been established three capacitive dependence of selected types of weirs. These dependencies are presented in tabular and graphical form.
Full-width thin-plate rectangular weir influenced by channel width
Zmítko, Jakub ; Roušar,, Ladislav (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the propagation of a weir (channel) width on the weir capacity. The influence rate is analyzed by laboratory measurements on models with a weir (channel) width of 0,02 m to a width of 0,50 m. Different heads are analyzed and different discharges that calculate the discharge coefficient. The results are compared with previous works, especially with the work of Kindsvater and Carter (1957) and of Schoder and Turner (1929), where the same procedures are used to calculate discharge coefficients. The thesis contains a theoretical introduction to the problem of thin-plate weirs and the problem of the formation of the boundary layer in the flow of liquid, following with the analytical part. In the analytical part, the results of measurements, their comparison, and evaluation are published. The work is completed with evaluation and recommendations.
Air flow measurement through compact heat exchanger in wind tunnel
Žůrek, Michael ; Vondruš, Jan (referee) ; Šebela, Kamil (advisor)
This thesis describes Formula Student competition, overview of used aerodynamic devices, placement of compact heat exchangers on these monoposts and current monopost Dragon e2. Next section examines commonly used compact exchangers and their aerodynamic drag, mainly caused by angling and ununiform flow. Subsequently is described the process of preparation, measurement in wind tunnel and measuring devices. An algorithm was created and described, which was used for evaluation of measurement, influence of some factor was commented. On the right-side compact exchanger, methods of measuring were compared, namely pneumatic probe, pressure difference and turbine anemometer. On left side exchanger were observed influence of various aerodynamic elements. Lastly alternative position behind vehicle rear axle was measured.
The influence of the displacement speed of electromagnetic induction meters on the reported water flow rate
Burdová, Lenka ; Žoužela, Michal (referee) ; Zubík, Pavel (advisor)
The continuous displacement of the point velocity meter of the water current is used in the determination of the flow rate by the surface integration method of the velocity field. The aim of the work is to experimentally determine the influence of the displacement speed of the probe of electromagnetic induction meters on the determined average speed of water flow in the respective vertical and horizontal direction.
Measurements of small flow rates
Lorenc, Dominik ; Šedivá, Soňa (referee) ; Mancl, Vlastimil (advisor)
The thesis deals with the extension of the laboratory fixtures with a~measuring track designed for the measurement of small fluid flows, on which the thermal flowmeter is tested. The used calibration methods are examined and the track is then subsequently constructed. A~measurement operating program is also developed to set the measurement parameters and to store the measurement data in the required format. The parameters and characteristics of the reference scale used and the thermal flowmeter provided are then measured on the constructed track. The measurement results are presented and the uncertainties of the selected flow rates are determined.
