Dry electrolytic polishing technology of Ti-6Al-4V alloy
Karešová, Pavla ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The main part of the thesis deals with the finishing method of machining called DryLyte electrolytic polishing method. General concepts for measuring surface structure are also mentioned. The experimental part deals mainly with the study of the surface texture parameters of the turned sample before and after the application of the DryLyte method. The work shows that this is a very promising method for finishing metal-bonded materials, which can be used to obtain mirror-gloss surfaces, while the method itself does not require bulky and expensive equipment. In terms of surface finish quality, this method results in a reduction of surface roughness and an improvement in both surface and volume characteristics, always to the benefit of strengthening the core of the material.
Evaluation of machinability of a 3D printed material
Krestová, Alžběta ; Chladil, Josef (referee) ; Kolomý, Štěpán (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to evaluate the machinability of 3D printed material by Bound Metal Deposition method under different conditions during milling. The forces during machining were measured and the surface roughness and the resulting wear on the tool were also investigated. The values were recorded and further evaluated, where the results were compared and recommendations were made as to the conditions under which low values of wear are produced. The result was that lower wear values are achieved when machining without cooling and at low cutting speed and feed rate.
Surface treatment methods applied to 3D printed samples and their analysis
Rygl, Michal ; Dobrocký, David (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The presented paper deals with the issue of smoothing parts produced using FFF 3D printing technology. The aim of the paper was to compare technical surface treatment methods and economic side. Emphasis was placed especially on the degree of reduction of surface roughness while maintaining an acceptable level of process costs. Chemical smoothing, local CO2 laser melting, tumbling and surface treatment based on filler spraying were used to smooth the plastic prints. Prints made of ABS, PLA, PolySmooth and PolyCast were subjected to the smoothing process. Printing parameters were first determined for individual materials and test samples were produced on their basis. After determining the process parameters for individual surface treatment methods, the finished surfaces were measured with a profilometer. Based on the results, the chemical etching method was evaluated as the most effective surface smoothing method. Due to the etching of the surface layer of the sample made of PolySmooth material, the surface roughness parameter Sa was reduced in diameter compared to the reference sample. by 99,56 %. The least effective method was tumbling technology, which showed an average roughness reduction of 30,07 % in the case of ABS. However, the technology based on grinding parts with grinding stones had the lowest process costs for finishing the samples. Technical The economically best choice of all tested combinations was the technology of chemical etching of ABS polymer prints. The results and conclusions of the work will serve not only to select the finishing operation and material for specific applications of prints in practice, but also to expand the possibilities of using additively produced components.
Comparison of flame and fusion laser cutting of material DC01
Krejčiřík, Marek ; Horník, Petr (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the technology of laser cutting together with edge roughness for low carbon steel material DC01. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part examines laser itself and contains a physical description of the laser beam with the laser construction, division according to the active environment or the occurrence of laser devices in today’s engineering industry. The last part of the theoretical research is aimed to the surface roughness, its parameters and the measuring technology. The practical part is focused on the comparison of the edge roughness of material DC01 after laser cutting with the usage of flame and fusion. The measured parameters of roughness were further compared with the norm ČSN EN ISO 9013.

Abstract English Name: Vladimír Vaněk The name of the Bachelor's thesis: Surface treatment of wooden garden gazebos and summerhouses stains coatings. This thesis is focused on the monitoring of changes in the quality of the surface treatment of wood wooden gazebos and summerhouses. The aim of this work was to verify the physico-mechanical properties of components that are exposed during the period of exposure to the outdoors and are intended for the manufacture of wooden gazebos and summerhouses. In the theoretical part we deal with the current trend of completion of timber products, including factors that affect the properties of the completed surface. The practical part is focused on the change in the quality of the surface finish of parts. Massive spruce wood (Picea abies) was chosen as background material, which was modified in shape, surface refacing and then impregnated. Spruce parts were divided into two halves, each half of which has been treated with different stain. One half was treated with a thin-film layer stain and the other half thick-film layer stain. After completing the finishes were all test samples exposed to the exterior. The aim of the Bachelor thesis in the experimental part of the change was to compare the quality of the surface in the course of one calendar year. The results are based on practical measurement of test samples. Measurement at the Institute of furniture, design and housing of Mendel University in Brno, where the measured color, hardness, gloss and surface roughness. Keywords: coating, staining, surface quality, color, hardness, gloss and surface roughness
Historické nátěry z hovězí krve – změna barvy v průběhu vytvrzování a vliv způsobu opracování povrchu na jeho výslednou drsnost
Hynek, Dominik
In this work we have been comparing the roughness of hand-worked and machined surfaces of spruce wood (Picea abies (L.) Karst.). We have also observed the change of the roughness of the surface after applying the paint based on the beef blood, and we have also compared the effect of two different ways of machining the surface on its final roughness. Last but not least we have also observed the change of the colour of the coat of paint based on beef blood during hardening. We based the assessment of the roughness of the surface on the difference of the parameters Ra and Rz measured by MITUTOYO SJ-201 P device. We gained the results of measuring the colour of the surface using the KONICA MINOLTA CM-2300d device, and the parameters are represented via the system CIEL *a*b*. We have not observed any statistically significant differences of the roughness of the hand worked and machined surfaces. The difference could only be observed after applying the paint based on beef blood on machined samples and other groups of samples. While measuring the colour changes during the process of hardening of the paint based on beef blood, we have observed statistically significant differences of parameters L*a*b*. The coat of paint was getting darker, less red and less yellow.
Vizualizace textury povrchů
Hajtman, Benjamín
Surface is described as a layer of macroscopic object which creates a boundary between the elementary material and the enviroment. Surface is an interface between two phases, and it's sets the visual appearance of an object. This work is concered with surface roughness analysis which is measured by using either of 2D or 3D methods. In following parts, kinds of measurment methods and their physical processes were defined. In the end were showed the results of 2D and 3D methods, which were confronted to each other.
Vliv přípravy povrchu na kvalitu transparentní povrchové úpravy
Kovařík, Radek
Bachelor thesis deals with the preparation of given surface based on solid wood, agglomerated materials, mainly wood veneer surfaces and their impact on the quality of the surface finish by various types of finishing such as grinding, sanding, brushing, pee-ler finishing, pad scourer finishing, abrasive pad finishing. The aim was to deal with the issue of influence of surface preparation on the properties of surface treatments. Furthermore, the determination of the effect of these processes on the quality of the transparent surface finish with a lacquer finish, a polyurethane finish coat. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to determine the influence of surface preparation on the surface roughness preparatory to final coat. Surface quality was gauged by the SJ-201 roughness gauge. As a representative woody plant was chosen oak, due to its enlargement.
