Machining of quenched steels

Diploma thesis deals with machining of hardened steels. In the introductory section it is described the physical process of cutting and basic used technologies of machining. The next chapter provides an overview of cutting materials. Other chapters deal with the workpiece material and heat treatment. Furthermore, there is made a comparison of the cutting conditions while machining of hardened steels by tools from selected manufacturers. As the conclusion there is the economic evaluation.
Optimization of the production process of a precision machined part

This master‘s thesis deals with optimization of cutting conditions when machining of precise parts in mass production. In experimental part of this thesis is a comparison of the roughing tool with indexable cutting inserts with the new implemented milling cutter. Tool wear of both roughing tools has been analysed. The surface roughness analysis after machining with the face milling cutter was performed. The output of this work is to obtain optimal cutting conditions to gain a minimum surface roughness.

Diploma thesis is intended on a polycrystalic diamond and a pocrystalic cubic boron nitride from the standpoint of their description, physical, mechanical and cutting properties, use and contemporary trends of development at renowned producers of tools and tool materials. The aim of the work was a complex working of conditions (type of cutting material, cutting conditions), which are recommended by choice producers for the effective turning applications their kind of superhard tool materials.

The practical part deals with the influence of the cutting conditions on the roughness of the machined surface when turning hardened steel.
