Mimoprodukční využití usedlosti Kvítkův Dvůr v Českém Krumlově
ČERMÁK, Jan
The bachelor's thesis deals with non-agricultural production of the homestead Kvítkův Dvůr in Český Krumlov. The area of the Kvítkův Dvůr homestead was originally a part of the Český Krumlov chateau and supplied the chateau and its surroundings with agricultural products. It has always been an important landscape element around Český Krumlov. It is currently in a neglected state and there is a vision for the future of the restoration of the homestead with its own specific production. The aim of this work is to evaluate the potential of the area of the historic homestead Kvítkův Dvůr in Český Krumlov in terms of the basic dimensions of the principle of sustainability. To evaluate the potential, an extensive data collection was performed, on the basis of which an opportunity study was performed using SWOT and SMART analysis tools. The results show specific possibilities of non-production use, which are discussed in the work from the position of the author. The results also show there are several fundamental problems in the project that will not be so easy to solve. It is mainly a matter of changing and stabilizing property relations between the complex and its surroundings, as well as great financial demands and the right choice of financing. Given the above results, the option of buying the monument and financing its reconstruction and further development by the state with the help of subsidy and foundation forms of financing seems to be one of the good solutions.
The Story of Czech Immigrants in USA and their Legacy from the End of the 19th Century to Present: The Identity and Everyday Life of a Small Town in Minnesota
ZAVADILOVÁ, Eva
The aim of this thesis is to describe the fates, sorrows and joys of Czech peasants (and their descendants) who decided to emigrate to the USA between the second half of the 19th century and the First World War, where they left a legacy that persists to these days. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the general history and knowledge of the emigration of Czechs to the USA, its causes and course. Using collected letters, pamphlets and archival records, it then attempts to reconstruct the journeys of emigrants from Bohemia to their new home across the ocean. The work then describes the various problems that the compatriots had to deal with immediately after landing in the United States, on their way to find available land or to build their homes. The thesis also depicts the efforts to create expatriate communities and societies along with the traditions that Czech immigrants brought with them. The second part focuses on a specific town in Minnesota, but also mentions nearby settlements and towns whose names attest to the Czech origins of their founders. The work focuses on the history of New Prague and its surroundings, associations and traditions that are connected to Czech cultural heritage and still play an important role in maintaining the Czech-American identity of the local population. With the help of the informations from local residents, the thesis seeks to capture and then analyse their perception of their Czech origins and their efforts to maintain awareness of Czech culture and language. Finally, the thesis will focus on specific events and festivals in and around New Prague that serve as evidence of the continuing awareness of Czech culture among Americans.

The motif of pig-slaughtering in visual arts and its possible potential for the use in art therapy
CARASOVÁ, Adéla
The work deals with the tradition of the pig-slaughtering and its reflection in the visual arts, from the genre art of the 16th century to the present. This tradition contains both the religion meaning and symbolism of the bloody sacrifice, as well as the secular mening of the whole event and the customs associated with it: the consolidation of the community of a certain group of people, the nutritional and ecological value. There is also an allegory of human characteristics and tendencies in artistic reflection. It is not only through artistic creation that we can observe that the tradition of the pig-slaughtering is slowly disappearing, although the symbolism of raw meat remains in mind. Finally, the work reflects on the topic of the pig-slaughtering in the environment of Rožnov art therapy and monitors its terapeutic potential. Blood plays a role in the therapeutic use of the theme of the pig-slaughtering and its importance as a symbol of life energy. In the painting, blood is a metafor for unconscious affective forces that co-create dynamic processes in the human psyche. Thus, the topic of thepig-slaughtering in art therapy is used to work within trapsychic conflicts. I prove the variability of this work by interpreting the images of students in the field of art therapy created within a self-experienced class.

STABILIZATION OF RURAL REGIONS FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES VIEWPOINT
POPELÁKOVÁ, Lenka
The aim of my bachelor thesis was to specify new possibilities and demands causing the stabilization of rural regions, to find new areas, where human resources would contribute to satisfaction of folks with country life. The results of my research, which was realized by questionnaire inquiry in Čkyně and Doudleby, could be resumed into following. All areas, which has been already generally known {--} such as services, infrastructure, employment etc. {--} confirm their importance in stabilization of countryside. There is lack of educational courses or discussions in Čkyně and Doudleby according to the further development and education of country people. The main contribution of my bachelor thesis should have been the findings that connection of culture, traditions and environment together with human relations are valuable for stabilization of the country. Old national customs in Doudleby join people together and improve social relations in the village. If these traditions are the urban entertainment, people will become a stranger to each other as we can see in Čkyně in the small extent. The preservation or renewal of national customs and traditions is important for stabilization of rural regions, people become deeply rooted and it prevents them from leaving the countryside.
